I can see the potential but right now they're tinykitty terrible.

They're a pain to equip, difficult to use, and the AI has an enormous advantage with them.
  • I'm now of the opinion - get tinykittying rid of them.

The more I play with them, the less I like them. This is the first change they've made that is making me rethink how much time I spend on this game.
  • It is quite strange that they made no announcement to let us know the improvements they plan to make for Team Ups.

    57 % dislikes...

    Even better, only 21% approve.
  • What is annoying me most is "does AI use what the player has "in stock" as Team Up, or is it just random ?

We never had a thorough explanation about how Team Up work, right ? Maybe if we had, we could have liked it better, and waited for improvements.

I've been sitting on a whole TU roster of 19 APers pretty much since they introduced TUs.
BUT I finally figured out how to use them: I go back to the prologue and pick a node I can play badly at and not get decimated, and just grab all the TU I can. Usually by the end of the match I can grab enough to use one ability. Rinse, repeat.

So yeah, that's right, I have to go back to something in the game I completed a long time ago, play badly, and lose health to get rid of all my **** TUs.
Now that's what I call fun.

I think that pretty much sums up why I hate 'em at the moment. On the upside, maybe now I can get a World Rupture or Supernova like everyone else seems to have, and hit them with it over and over and over.
  • Are there really 59 brain washed peopel on here that like TU's and think they are fun.

What ever drugs you guys are using, if they make TU's fun then please share icon_e_smile.gif

Screw that, I want whatever the 10 who love it are on!
  • Question : has anyone of you tried to find out if, when you have a match against the AI (but existing player), the Team Ups which show up against you are random or are actually in the stockpile of that player ?

You'd need to have a match against an Alliance mate, remember the Team Ups and check with him.

I have changed my vote to I do not like it for the TU's. The problem is most of the time I don't use them. I find that I use them more often in PVE when I run Patchneto with mohawk storm. Since Storm gives me an active yellow and black power I figured why not. most of the time when I use the TU I am using the TU instead of just making a match or spaming more CMags blue.

In PVP the problem is if I am loading up a team up it means I am not boosting AP. So TU are not good for shield hopping and durring an initial climb they just take time to load. I have loaded a couple and most of the time I am just looking to use another power instead. I never look at the other teams TU since I am a mobile player it just takes too much time to click on the character and move over 6 slots to see what power they are going to hit me with. I look at it this way, if I am not boosting my AP I am going to be hit with at least 1 TU since I cannot block all colors all the time. I am starting to get concerned that boosts are going to go away and TU will be the new wave of boosting. Imagine progression rewards being TU powers? Get a World Rupture at 500 points. 700 points get chemical reaction, 1000 points Balistic Salvo (this way people will not want to cross the 1000 point threshold).

At least not until they are full up 20/20 on Good Team-Ups so they can "refuse" terribad ones, or the devs incorporate that "Delete" button...

Personally I dont like team ups. they were fun for a minute(ok maybe a day), but the novelty of collecting team up trophies soon turned to be a pain in the butt.

I have no false hopes that D3 will get rid of them, but what I would like to see is a simple solution where opponent teams can only play a matched ratio of team ups against us. So if I choose not to use team ups neither can AI, if I choose one team up then AI gets 1 and so on. Seems like the simplest solution to me.

P.S. if this has been mentioned previously, then I am sorry for not rereading 9 pages of forum before posting this and +1 to OP

True Healing was a nerf, Team Up was supposed to be a buff to the game.

It was advertized as "something as awesome as the creation of the Alliances". The excitement never happened.

Do you know what nerfs and buffs are? You can't wrap an entire **** game in theoretical Nerf foam.

Characters get nerfed. Games change mechanics.

Was experience in Minecraft a buff to the game? How about the addition of sprinting?

What about focus attacks in SF4?

    The Eridium shop in BL2?

Symphony of the Night completely changing the landscape of CV games?

    ??? What's the point here ???
  • 60 % dislikes/hates...

Still trying to use them... Even in the first match of a PvP after shielding.

    Unfortunately, still can't use them....

I could have used AP boosts though, too bad I don't get any anymore. I would use Sentry more.

Super cool to get 2 World Rupture in my face with AI Team-Ups. It's lucky the 3rd one is not Sacrifice... icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Until they can be deleted, they are pretty terrible. Even bringing 3* storm into 'call him ragnarok', I haven't been able to get rid of a lvl 43 twin pistols in 3 tries. Then another time I brought a teamup to a hard fight, used it, and had it replaced with a low leveled one from the featured torch. Now I bring that one to each match, only to have it replaced with a duplicate version, or another of his powers instead of ANY of the lvl 94's I could be getting instead.

Add to those things that they are often not worth using because they will invariably be replaced with a **** one, and now you have to fight opponents that get 2-3 of them off every single fight, where the player is bridled with a feeling that (s)he shouldn't use even one for fear of getting yet another even less effective. Trying to deny white AP with no outlet to use it and its minimal damage leads to pretty much the same fate in a match as just going for your primary colors: getting the stuffing knocked out of you.

Also, getting hit with multiples of the same darn power all the time is tinycat terrible. Suddenly my 2* characters are facing world rupture, supernova, berserker rage and other similar powers almost constantly. Pardon me devs, but unless that ability is scaled properly for level like finding it in a pve node, there is really only a couple outcomes here. A healthpack for every team member, or death. Its great that everyone got a nick fury teamup... except those of us that used it because we wanted to test the feature AND see a power that it would be a very long time before we got to see with the actual character are at a severe disadvantage to those that saved it. Whether they realized their stock of TU's would be used on their team's defense or not, having that ability wipe out one of my 2* team members is about the least fun I can imagine. If the other abilities I listed are OP to use against a 2* roster, 'avenger's assemble' makes them look like a fluffy puppy.

Its shameful that they allowed these things through their QA. Its more shameful its been released this long without fixes for them.
  • My faaaaavorite part is that the devs stay around for a day or two, listening to the initial response (which wasn't that bad), and promising one or two needed changes. Then they take a few weeks off and ignore us. How long does it take to add a delete function? I don't mean they should have absolutely had it out by now, but we should at least have some idea of when its coming. They're looking for a way to profit off the deletes, that's the problem. My money says we'll have to pay hp or at least iso for deletes. And I guarantee that they will never admit that the ai gets an unfair amount of the best TUs. And they will never admit that the ai cheats on TU ap usage.
