1) PvE events that afterwards get added to the prologue/story section permanently, although they could still be re-run as "PvE but really PvP"s for placement rewards like they are currently
2) A continuous, never-ending series of 2 hour, bracketed lightning rounds with 3 randomly buffed 3*s and 3 randomly buffed 2*s in each
I miss a format where you'd fight just in the bracket (and not a big one). The 50-slot elite looked interesting but if you fight the usual way handicapped by MMR against off-bracket teams it's not really impressive.
i like the idea of random 3+3, it could be even more extended to apply random buff/debuff to everything with some wide range (caps might be applied to already broken characters).0 -

Sure your defense team has an impact. With serious limits. In current metagame there are no unbeatable teams. If you happen to be the only reasonable point offer for many people you'll get a mass beating no matter what. But if you are one in the pool of similar points some teams will more likely be skipped than others. (it may vary by individuals a lot depending on their preferred/available teams and experience too).
I surely don't know how to disappear, but too experienced tournaments with mostly silence and others with heavy fire from all kinds of lousy teams. I just learned not to sweat about it. A few times I abandoned the tournament. then it kept bugging me so I did an extra run a few hours later (likely using the retals) and that time it was smooth. Go figure.
guess that is hardly much help, but let me offer a view: whatever impatient you are, consider that getting 3 covers instead of 4 per PVP is barely slower. While finishing in the 2-cover individual is way less effort in all regards. (And a 20-member alliance with everyone getting 2 covers is sure top100.)
And the 'just play on' method without shields is also worth a new try it may turn out more fruitful even going higher really just by avoiding the extra injection at unshielding.
I understand your points. But let me make sure I understood your points :
1) You advise me to rank lower so as to avoid MMR hell and spending HP, right ? This is what I understand from : get only 2 covers instead of 4.
But with a new character, without the 3 covers, you can't max him and therefore can not play it.
2) Unless I did not understand what you explained to me, this can not apply to 1100+ scores, right ? Guys just "forgetting" to shield, or with an expired shield, can lose more than 400 points in a short time. I can't see how you can avoid incoming attacks when you are at 1100 (900 is already bad).0 -

I only advise you tho think about it. And you get 3 instead of 4 not 2, as the alliance cover never needed everyone going to the sky.arktos1971 wrote:But with a new character, without the 3 covers, you can't max him and therefore can not play it.
Err, I was really talking about PVP, new characters usually come in PVE that is a different beast. Here getting all covers really is a matter of playing at proper times, you can it's yours, can't you're hosed.
The current covers are allocated the way that if you not get top individual you still get one of all colors. Btw for practical purposes even a single cover is about as good as 3 and in first PVP with the character the loaner is usually better than yours. Maybe by far. And a new character is offered in PVP soon so you can win like 9 covers no problem, the rest is held back for much longer.arktos1971 wrote:2) Unless I did not understand what you explained to me, this can not apply to 1100+ scores, right ? The point ranges shifted several times recently and most my observations are from pre-TH times. These days 1100+ is damn high. In that time I did see 1000+ scores from 3x85 teams that was not reasonable by any means. Not often but they did exist such like that naked. I'm just saying the game offers those glitches or artefacts. just worth knowing to evaluate stories others tell, they may be true for those reasons but not helpful in practice as you can't really work them out, just happen on the lucky side.
Yes, the natural outcome is that if you stand out naked you start losing points en masse.
But why go there? In my most recent PVP the top10 was spanning 810->650. You don't have to bother even going over 900 to win.
As others said earlier you can do really much just climbing to those points naked then use a single shield for 75 or 150, sit back and get 4 covers or maybe just 3 if too many climbers approach in that very bracket. Well within what the game drops, no boosts not too much skipping either.0 -
OK, I understand your point better.
There are other factors to be taken into account (but they should not matter considering previous comments) :
- I chose to be in a Top 10 Alliance. Therefore, you need to earn points for the Alliance, it's a team work. This brings the challenge when your roster is complete. The challenge makes the game fun to play (along with getting new characters). The challenge remains when the Main Commander motivates the troops. Otherwise, it is boring indeed.
- Being in a Top 10 Alliance allows you to get 10K ISO per event (that may change with Season 4, but so far so good). I bought tons of Iso and wanted to not need to buy more in the future. With the covers I sell (since I already have them), I get an extra 2K ISO. That's 12K Iso per event. Nearly $15 worth. Not bad I think.
- Now, once again, the 5000 HP were spent in the last days of the Season, because there were many events to play at the same time, and 1 HP per 35 min is not enough. I do not spend that much HP usually. Shield hopping (I go to the 900-1000 points range, enough to rank Top 5 when I go to bed) costs me about 300-400 per event. I've experienced all sorts of play : entering late in the event (Loki, it was too late), entering not so early... So I think, it is one of the factor that changes many things in the way you play.
I'm not targeting 1100+ if not necessary (900-1000 is enough to rank Top 5) but I'm trying to improve so that I can reach that goal in a more efficient way. Thanks for the input and help, it is greatly appreciated.0
