Spent more than 5000 HP in Health Packs in the last days so as to be able to go up in sim, rank in pvp, and perform in the Tiny Torch Pve.
But I get so much Iso that I get more than I spend.
Yep this comment has so much going wrong here. The snake is officially eating it's own tail here.0 -

You either have way too much money or you don't know how to play the game properly. You buying over 125 healthpacks in a few days is just crazy. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy? You have a near complete roster, i have 3 166's i have used in season bracket and went up 1500 in 3 days WITHOUT healthpacks or swapping out those 3, same as many others i presume.
Pasa is right. You are one of the bigger complainers about the faults with the game, yet you throw money at it as if it's going outta fashion. How do you expect the dev's to listen when they see you doing that?
Answer: they won't
I don't understand how you all can attack him for how he spends his own money. Particularly since many of you complain about how D3 makes you spend your time grinding through Seasons.
Why are you all grinding 24/7? You want a break? Take a break!
If it is his fault that the game is expensive, then it is your fault that it is a total grind-fest.0 -
The game isn't that expensive, arktos is just bad at it.0

If p2w is the chicken, then I must side with the unwisest of all. As the egg(grindfest) is so obviously the result of the chicken being caused by inept ppl using crutches made of dollar, dollar bills ya'll
Either way I will sit back and enjoy the break. Please nobody play heavy metal, so I can earn all the lazy d covers.0 -

I didn't mean it as an attack, just stated the consequences. Of course everyone has the right to spend his own money the way he likes.
And yes, we are responsible for hanging on too much and grinding away instead of quitting in time -- I definitely had at least 3 such events.
And if someone comes ahead an points that out as problem, have to just admit the truth in it. (For the record I have some success in the department too, like not even entering current Hunt.)
OTOH I made a ton of comments and suggestions that simple adjustments like making the PVE point regrowth rate 1/4 or at least 1/2 that fast -- or make a play take more than 20%points off would make wonders on the grind side.
I still recall the first Sims(maybe some other pve at that time) where node play took 50% then went to 1pt after the second play until the refresh -- that structure would make a better PVE IMNSHO.0 -

Here are some questions and answers for you :
Have I criticized the way you play ? Have I criticized your gameplay ? Your ranking ? Nope
Well, have you experienced playing with a maxed roster ? Nope
Do you know what it's like to play with one, Scaling and MMRwise ? Nope
Are you at the same time trying to rank in a Top 10 Alliance ? Nope
May I try to rank high after I have spent so much time and money ? I guess I may otherwise it is card collecting, and as previously mentioned, I do that better with Magic the Gathering.
Are you trying to rank high in a "not useful" PvE so as to train for a "more useful" one ? Probably not
May I express my opinion after I followed their business model ? I guess so. They had my money, they'll have my opinion with it.
Now, if you look at things another way, once I have done what they expect players to do, I can express my opinion.
That's the way I was bred. If you want to open your mouth, you must be able to do so.
I am playing several hours a day. I do not tank anymore (it seems not to work anymore).
Since I've gathered nearly 2 million Iso since I started playing (160 days ago), I guess I play at least as much (if not more) than you.
Are you frustrated because you can not spend as much money as D3P would like you to ? Probably
Everyone makes his own choices in life. I do not criticize your choice not to spend money on MPQ, you should not criticize my choice to spend money on it.0 -

Sorry. I was responding more to the narrative of this thread than to you, specifically. So, you're right. I'm sorry I aimed that comment at you.0 -
@arktos1971:
I think you got pretty far from truth with your guesses this time. Too many people on this forum have an almost complete roster. And got it with minimal or maybe zero $ spending too. So know ho it plays, were competing for top places for alliance stuff, in multiple endings and all the other things.
And I doubt a single one of them is a tiny bit envious about not able to spend more money.
Yes there is a group of players here who buy themselves the places on hard $ but the rest is more like baffled about the approach and thinks "what the hell is the point of playing if you just buy the 'I win' button".
Also as I just mentioned the criticism is not really aimed at you -- how cares how you burn your money really -- the problem is the collateral damage it imposes on everyone else indirectly.
But while we are at it, you may consider that other people can reach the same results without using a single health pack for months -- maybe they have a point that your play is somewhere suboptimal and you just compensate it with brute force what is not an improvement.0 -

Says a guy who does not know if he is quitting at the beginning of Season 3 or Season 4.
The 5000 HP was also for shields, I forgot to mention that.
You will not have anyone believe that franckynight's roster was built with time and sweat and no money.
The collateral damage is not made by people like me, and you know that.
Who is spending 20k-30k Iso on skip tax per PvP ? About 2000 HP on shield hop ?
If my behaviour was "right" in the eye of D3P, they would not have decreased the value of ISO by 50 %.
One last thing : do you blame a guy that drives a car which is more expensive than yours ? Probably not. Do you blame him that it could have collateral consequences ? You probably blame a guy who drives drunk.
One has fun with a game the way he wants to. At the very least, you should respect that.
If more people were investing in the game, the "collateral" consequences would be different, as D3P would not try to find more and more stupid changes to make us pay.
Being an extremist F2P trying to put the blame on people who pay for the game is not good for the future of the game, and I am glad that some of these players finally decide to quit.
Nothing is for free in this world. Once you have understood that, you will enjoy MPQ.0 -
Nothing is going to change anyone's opinions of each other here. People grind, people spend money. The argument is which style of play influences the developers more and on a whole is better for the game and the community.0
-
And so far, all the decisions they took was for the best. Season's final scores are up 20 % compared to S2...
It's sad, but true.0 -

Absolutely not. But some have to understand that F2P is "Free to start playing" and no game can sustain itself with no money.0 -
arktos1971 wrote:But some have to understand that F2P is "Free to start playing" and no game can sustain itself with no money.
We had a good discussion on that recently. It seem there are two viable strategies. One builds on player retention, continual fun and a wide player base spending on things mostly "cosmetic". The other, more usual approach is to hook then switch and strip-mine. MPQ looks clearly the second type.
What makes so many vets sad as it had a very good potential for playing the first method.0 -

That's what I was saying (and always complaining about) :
You either pay for Characters or
You pay for participation in an event/shields/boosts... whatever you name it.
You can't have people pay for both, when one single character is worth $250
They are far from being Magic the Gathering where you can milk the cow carelessly over and over again...0 -
arktos1971 wrote:And so far, all the decisions they took was for the best. Season's final scores are up 20 % compared to S2...
It's sad, but true.
So naïve
There's an entire alliance dedicated to spend this much money Arktos. That is the ONLY reason scores are up. All the staples are in this game to make it pay to suck less and pay to win. Most of the community however view covers as the only goal in the game so buying everything defeats the purpose. What would be great is if you take equal amounts you throw away on hp and shields and donate it to world charities to help starving and needy children or towns devastated by natural disasters. And play this game for fun with a smidgen of patience to earn the reward instead of buying it.
And back to the actual topic of this thread, I hope as most others do, that this season experiment is over. Doubt it will happen with all the blind spenders but we can pray.0 -
Well, 5DV must be spending tons as well to compete at this level.
It's not only X-Men really.
Now that we know that some guys spend 20k-30k skip tax per event, there is no limit to spendings.
Let's see what the beginning of Season 4 will bring us as news Alliancewise. Lots of changes to be expected.0 -

I can only speak for 5DV but the majority of us as in more than 95% spend 150hp or less per pvp
Occasionally depending on time constraints maybe MAYBE 300. There are a few of course who actually love the shield hopping aspect but the majority of us don't play that way. It also makes the game pay to 'win' if you consider winning nothing - winning. Spending 20-30k skip tax is ridiculous and shows how out of touch people are with their time and what they consider fun. But to each their own. Some people enjoy shopping for the thrill of handing money over to a cashier I suppose0 -
Well...this was a season 4 thread....ironic, break from seasons, and the real battles start..0
