Basically, every rank past the first is an additional 16/20/21 levels you can add to his cap. And occasionally a bit of board shuffle is good, especially for only 3 AP.0

It's also something that makes him very effective as an anti-sentryhopping weapon on defense, since he slows down matches so much.
It's time wasting capability is very similar to Loki's purple.0 -
Can anyone imagine getting 30 purple ap at 3 purple covers it'll be insane all the black, red and it'll be like all in one place enough to charge his abilities and might even get a cascade0

If you use the ability more than once without any change in board state it'd just swap a random black tile with the top left black tile, which has no chance of creating any cascade, and same with any other swaps because it'd just be switching two of the same color over and over.0

Don't feel so bad, I pulled a Johnny with a token bought with 500HP. I know there must be dumber things to do, but I can't really think of any right now.
And why did I do that? Because I misunderstood that single tokens cost 50HP ALL week. And cockroach-sighted me can't tell the diff between 50 and 500 before I pressed Carol's face again. And just because I happened to have 550HP stocked up for a new roster slot. The token that I bought for 50HP before that got me a Moonstone.
But come to think of it, if Moonstone costs 50HP, then Johnny for 500HP, that sounds about right..0 -
I want to add a thought to this and would be interested in others' comments.
In one of my multiple reclassifications, I suggest the concept of removing the passive abilities from the game, so that all abilities become active ones. So regardless of whatever an ability does, they all require an amount of colour to enable and then use.
There is a contrast here between the cheap throwaway purple and the long time intention of the devs to move away from cheap abilities.
Do you sort of see this purple as an active version of a passive ability? Would it work for other passives in the game?0 -
does anyone know if the dino cover at 365 day reward is of what color?0

We get one of each over three days. Not sure the order, but probably the "regular" order (green-red-purple, I think).
thanks that is good to know, so I can convince myself to stay way from the 10x/42x packs because I need green0 -

I think you mean Walk the Dinosaur. That is the video I put a link to earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYKupOsaJmk
Whomever originally posted the video did not make it available. UP vot for you for thinking of the same song though.0 -
It's not terrible, if you look at it as a board shuffler, then it's fairly costed for what it does. Is it going to win you matches? Hell no. Any matches you get around going to be from where the tile comes from. example if top left has blue in the top left corner, and the ability chooses a random black and that black is next to well then you will get a blue match from using this. Obviously the higher you have purple, the more tiles you swap and the higher % chance you have on getting some random 3 to 4 AP. So to me purple reads
Pay 3 purple and have X% chance of gaining random color AP. The higher you level purple the higher thatn % chance of getting a random color is.0 -

I hope the new Thor will have similar fun animations; Dino can be a start of new era , where animations are not just disturbing and delaying the game, but actually fun0 -

I thought Deadpool started that era?
Also, the second greatest strength of the purple, besides delaying Sentry hopping, is in denying purple to OBW - make a purple match, then get rid of that purple next turn so she can't steal it back0 -
Do people think he is worth leveling to the max if he would be the only character above level 166? I am thinking no because PvE scaling would go loco and he is not THAT good
Though I am liking the thought of him as a defender in PvP - Sentry on a shield hop goes BOOM the smoke clears and DD tail waggles back mockingly0 -
Functionally his purple is not all that different from the original Magnetized Particles though it's not nearly as powerful. You use it when:
1. Board is on the verge of resetting.
2. All your available moves are bad.
3. You're desperate.
You don't get to try it multiple times since if it didn't work the first time using it again won't change anything, but it's still a chance to get out of a bad board. If you're trying to use it to get a better move, that's not what it's designed to do. Just take the first decent move you see instead. Don't worry because the game has no problem handing you a board where you have no good moves whatsoever so you'll have plenty of chances to use his ability.0 -

At 5 purple, it only costs three. Cheapest board disruptor in the game - plus it's funny. That's win/win in my book.
You are not alone. I am planning on a 4/4/5 build.
Personally, I plan to go 3/5/5. Simply because I will almost always have a better green ability, so that will stay at 3. His red and green are the same, except for the animation. I like the red animation better than green, plus, for such a low Ap cost, it does ok damage. So that leaves purple to get 5 covers.0 -
It would be more useful if it was somewhat predictable where it was pulling that black tile from (like always the furthest down or right).
That way you could use it not just for it's top left corner match potential, but in it's ability to swap a known colored tile with whatever random tile happens to occupy the top row.
Perhaps I haven't had enough chance to play with it (especially since mine is simply 0/1/1), but I've yet to see a pattern.0 -

I want to go 3/5/5, but for the sheer fact that his purple litterally does nothing makes 5/5/3 a no-brainer.0
