Glad to hear Devil is turning out good...makes me scared about how good 4*Thor will be0
-
Right now my ideal team for this guy is Ldaken and BWGS. Use devil's red and use him to feed BWGS purple and green, since you're matching green a lot Daken will make tiles and be able to get good damage out of blue.0
-
So question. After reading about it, his purple actually appears decent. Can someone near a calculator find out what his green/red would be at 4 covers?0

Actually, you get a lot more potential cascades with 5 covers because the tiles swapped OUT of the top left have the chance to match too
Still probably not worth going more than 3 in purple though0 -

Yea I got my 5th cover for purp and mucked around with it, you're right I didn't include the tiles that get swapped out matches, but still after the first there is no effect. I just think the possibility of lining up 3 uses of purp in a row is better than 4. so weird that 3 cover is actually better than 50 -
The tiles moved to the top left have very little chance of making a cascade. It's 2/49 chance to make a cascade for each tile in top left (2 to right and 2 below). Note that because for the consequent tiles, since the tiles placed to the left and above are never the color you need, this ensures you always only have 2 match probability. Now for the tiles swapped, assuming it's in the middle there are 6 opportunities to make a cascade (2 to left, left + right, 2 to right, 2 to top, top + bottom, 2 to bottom) for 6/49. Adding this together you get 6*6 + 2*6 / 49 = 48/49 = ~1 match 3. This is a bit of a high estimate because not every tile swapped will have 6 opportunities to make a match 3 depending on where it is.
When maxed the purple can be approximated as spending 3 purple for 3 AP of a random color. It's not a terrible trade though probably should be saved until you got a board with nothing interesting to match.
Edit: just noticed all those tiles are moved at the same time, so there's only 5 total opportunities to match in the top left (the 3 column below bottom row and 2 rows to the right of the rightmost column). At any rate the number of matches from top left is tiny and we should not be expecting anything useful out of it to begin with. 5+36/49 = 41/49 so it's about 6/7 of a match 3, so we can roughly approximate level 3-5 as:
3: 3/7 of a match
4: 4/7 of a match
5: 6/7 of a match0 -

It is about a 40% jump in damage from 4-5 covers. It will be around 1600-1700 damage at 4 covers. I feel as well as the voting goes you are much better going 5,5,3. 2500 damage for 7 AP is solid and 29k health means if he is on defense for you he will take a bite out of someone.0 -
The way I see it, his health means he is on the board what double the amount of time, on defense so that equates to double the ability usage (roughly please theory only, no trolling)
so if he is double the amount of ability use, you could double the values.. e.g.
if he had half health and double ability
9590 health and did, 7 5024, 7 5024 you would definitely play him
or 9590 health but half the AP cost = 3.5 / for 2512 ( I know its a half value we are being theoretical ok)
you would definitely use either of the above scenarios, I mean is 8 for 3390 this is top tier.
I can't see how this isn't top tier.0 -

Lol no. No it doesn't. For like a thousand reasons.0 -
I've already played against a maxed Devil Dino. He wasn't that scary. Granted, nothing is that scary to my team of X-Force, Hood, Deadpool, but even so, Devil Dino was killed last. His health may be a deterrent to quick shield-hops but other than that he's completely managable.0

In the current metagame the shield-hopping techniques are basically reduced to just one: Sentry+Hood(or Daken if you want to risk a little more)+nobodyCaresWhosThird. With this setup you can end the game in 30 seconds-one minute (with the aid of boosts) against ANY team composition, even with a maxed Hulk (the only exception is a boosted Hulk and even that can be quickly dispatched). Simply +3R/Y, +3G/B, +2(or +3) all. All you need is a green and a yellow match (with a black one if you're running Hood). World Rupture + Sacrifice + Intimidation(again, if you're running Hood). Rinse and repeat.
Now, with a Health of 20k hit points, Devil Dino could be a problem for this tactic. Every second matters when you're shield hopping and even with a great starting board you're probably not going to do 20k damages with a single World rupture use. Are you going to win the match? Sure, the rest of the team is dead, DD has probably a third of his health remaining and your Sacrifice tile is still on the board, but YOU CAN'T AFFORD to lose those 30 seconds to finish him. In those thirty seconds you could have won another match, or maybe 3 other top rankers have you queued and are just waiting to snipe you. Devil Dino's health doesn't make him the best defensive character because it's going to make you win defensive matches, but because it's going to make your enemies totally skip those matches.0 -
Yep, plus every time Devil makes a purple match (which could be often given you won't be looking to deny that color given it serves you no purpose), its another one of those long, arm wagging animations. Will continue to draw out the match, losing precious time.0

But I want to see his arm waggling too!!!0 -
Because it's not just me that missed the top 100 in PVP and has pulled a succession of 2* Caps from the anniversary tokens, right?
Come in, pull up a pew and we can all watch Jurassic Park together and boo the damn dinosaurs0 -
LOL Don't feel too bad. Last night I was at 80th or 90th place, and got beat twice when I went to sleep and woke in place 107. I barely missed him0
-
Take solace in the fact that he's not very good, and it'll save you the temptation of throwing ISO at him.0
-
Is this pathetic ability a Barney joke or am I missing something?0
-
It's a joke power in part, and excuse for funny animation in part, and the cheapest ability in the game in part.
It's also something that makes him very effective as an anti-sentryhopping weapon on defense, since he slows down matches so much.0 -
Uh... so long I still do not know what the power actually does ><
¿At lvl1 just swaps a random black with the tile on top left?
¿What about higher levels, does it swap a line of top-left 2-3-4-5 tiles, or keeps replacing same top-left tile, rotating colours?0
