    yea thats pretty much my plan as well, although u prob wont see me do anything until the last 3 hours or so

    I'm going to try and make 1000 for the iso reward, but that's about it. Don't need the covers, and with a bit more HP coming my way, I might be tempted to buy a Daken cover. I don't see myself spending much on shields this event. An 8 hour near the end, tops, although I'm tempted to see where a single 3 hour will get me.

    What did you do last event Lex? 3 or 8? I saw you jump up in my bracket and just hang out just over 1k but didn't notice the timing.

    8-hour shield. I still need two blue IW's, but I'm in no hurry for them. I made my final run from 700 to 1000 at about 7 hours before event end, and managed to cross the 1000 line with only one retaliation and figured I'd pushed my luck enough and call it a night. Good thing too, since I think I got smacked by 3 guys for a more than 100 points about ten minutes after shielding. icon_mrgreen.gif

    Pity you barely missed out on top 5 yourself (unless you didn't really need that extra black HT cover, of course).

    I needed it, I was top 5 before I got "Comm Link Disruption". When it came back, it showed me in 6th... I was a bit upset to say the least. Gonna try for top 5 this time again. I would like the 1100 token, but I have yet to break 1k with my roster. Need all GSBW covers since I currently have a whopping 0.

    I have no need to do well in this pvp, but I really want that HT cover at 1100. That's the last cover I need to go 5-3-5 with Johnny Storm.

    Maybe I can pull of the old Ghast method.

    I started getting attacked too much so I had to take a break. Trying to top 1k for the first time.

    Anyone else finding this PVP to be an exceptionally target-rich environment?

    I'm pulling matchups in the high 30 point range left and right.

    I had a couple once I hit 700, but after 800 it was lower 20's but the teams were starting to be 3x141's... and with no one over 100, it makes it pretty difficult.

    how does everyone make it so easy to hit over 1k? I seem to hit 900-950 and either get slammed back into the 800's or can't get passed the wall of 3x141's. sigh...

    Patchneto - even with my **** version I can see how effective it is.

    You either have to have an MMR so tanked that no one (worthy) can see you. Or you need to shield up at 900, wait for the wave of attacks, then line up 3 juicy targets (30-40 points). Use max boosts to kill them all in under 7-10 minutes. Then reshield before the attacks come in.

    You can get to 1100 fairly easily doing this method.

    patch at 66 mags at 64... so that isn't a very viable option. Once I get them leveled I am definitely trying it.

    I am sitting just under 900 now, but I have only had a handful of retals and I skip matches until the nodes disappear. Making it pretty hard to find people. Can't wait for LR's to start and hopefully lower my mmr a lot.

    Tanking doesn't help past 800, having an intimidating team does, though.
    I made 1100 without shield hopping regularly in the last 5 or 6 tourneys with UDaken/LT.
