Retiring 4*/5* doesn't make sense from business point of view because the game's main source of income is HP and they are mainly used for roster slots.

Assuming a player has 300 roster slots filled up and the dev decided to retire 10 4*, the player will have 10 roster slots, enough for him to roster the next 10 new releases.

I think the best way to end MPQ is to simply let us celebrate the 10th anniversary, let all players play with max champed characters for one month and then shut down the game after that.

    So...Echo.

Anyone know if she is a feeder?
I know we need to wait a bit, but I'm going to guess Samurai Daken.  Of the remaining, he's the most logical (they're both Ronin's?), unless they completely break the mold and give Kingpin, Daredevil, or Hawkeye a 2nd feeder.

Maybe it will be like that but comparing this forum to the GI Joe forum this game is not in danger of ending anytime soon. And probably won’t be as long as the MCU is popular, much less the next two years. Besides, I fail to see how closing MPQ permanently is a better financial option than rotating 4*s.
For myself, ending this game means I end up in some other gacha game complaining about game mechanics on their forum in an inappropriate sub. That was my experience after I quit Clash of Clans out of boredom and AFK Arena after their UI outstripped my iPad.
I’m not entirely sure how we got from ‘we need to do something about dilution’ to ‘it’s time to shutter MPQ’.

Samurai Daken does seem the most logical candidate, though they might not bother with her as a feeder. It will be interesting to see if creating a feeder is the new normal or we just got lucky the last few releases.

(Also, I continue to think that demi's determination to continue stuffing the 4* tier over-full is bad for the game.)
Yep imagine having to look at that wall of required iso. I don't even read them, I couldn't care less if they removed 2/3rds of them. Nothing but champ rewards at this point. In fact Wiccan was my Deadpool Spicy vault this week and I was shocked to see it was level 332. Somehow I've gathered 60 odd champ levels and I've never used him. Don't even know what he does. along with every other 4 star since about 3 years ago.

I look one up if I see someone say 'try Wiccan with the new five star because xyz'

Give the new players a chance, reduce iso to champ a 4* by half.

yup, for at least 3-4 years every new 4* had been either so OP as to be absolutely essential (stunner Bros, Polaris) or utterly superfluous except indicate as they make navigating the roster page incrementally harder. There is no middle ground with 4*s anymore; the tier is just too full.
I think the alternatives are all worse, from a player's perspective.

Barring a total rework of their monetization scheme, which is presumably off the table after 8 years, they *cannot ever* stop releasing new characters.

Right now we get 4/5/4/5...if we want less 4*, they could go to 4/5/5/4/5/5, or they could just completely stop making 4* at all and go 5/5/5 every 2 weeks.

Another possibility is 6*, would we like it if the release order went 5/5/6?
4/5/Support may not be that bad

First round in the introductory with Echo @ 5/5/3 against an under levelled Daredevil was fun. It was pretty easy making match-4s in Black. Kingpin was pretty useless, though perhaps he was thematic.

This day 1 tie in to Hawkeye makes me a bit sad we got no Flaptain and Bucky content at all. Too bad that Omega Red appearance was just a rumor…

I experienced the opposite. Echo was useless; meanwhile I got 10 Yellow and 8 Black and Kingpin smacked Daredevil.

Yeah Kingpin did all the heavy lifting for me too.

You can change her learned power even with a loaner and I think her learned power is assigned randomly among all the players. That might explain the different experience. Mine was Iron Fist's.

For me Echo helped Kingpin get black so not entirely useless

After running her for a few rounds I am not impressed. She doesn’t do a lot of interesting things.
I’m not sure where she is supposed to fit.
Billy Club is probably the best ability.
She will sit in the 4* tier and we will probably never see her in PvP.
I think I like her less than Monica Rambeau.
maybe the worst 4* release this year, but that’s not saying much because there were so many good 4*s this year.

I like that her trap tile is enemy-associated such that it can't be overwritten by enemy special tiles, but it needs to be visible to the player to really make it useful.

If you run her with Heimdall you can see where the trap tiles are located. Just use his blue but don’t cast it unless you need to heal him.

I've only got one Heimdall cover, and it's red. I'd just like to make Echo a bit more self-sufficient, because I enjoy chasing down or setting up 3* Daredevil and X-23's trap tiles and would like to do the same here. Perhaps a passive where she can see all enemy trap tiles.

Which power of Heimdall can he see enemy trap tiles? I don't see it being stated in his ability.

JJ can see trap tiles, so she will be good.

I think we'll have a better gauge of her in her shield training.

Probably when you select tiles to fortify, he can't fortify the enemy trap tiles.
So you would select blue to cast, check which tiles you can't fortify, then cancel the ability (to save the blue AP).

This is correct, you cannot fortify enemy trap tiles. It’s a secret ability that makes JJ and Heimdall a great pair.

That's interesting to know. So, they are the anti-trap tile specialist, in a way.

I'd love if they lowered the price on classic legends.  No way I'm paying 20 cp, even 10 is a bit much for old **** characters I don't REALLY want lol.  But there are a lot I don't have and they come up as required characters in cl 10 grr.
