It's near unanimous, her blue and yellow need buffs. It's not too late! Don't make me have to sit on my hoard any longer.

I don't get why any 5* released after Kitty Pryde that has the ability to remove/convert/steal special tiles is automatically linked to a Gritty counter. Time to expand your horizon?

    1) Her blue damage looks weak and while there is potential for red matches followed by cascades, it doesn't make up for the really weak damage. I think the idea is to spam the board with enemy SAP tiles one way or another, steal some and convert the rest into red tiles, leading to more red ap gains, followed by spamming her cheap red which easily deals 13487 damage. First contender for this is Carnage. Eddie Brock might work too.

    2) The highlight of her yellow is her passive team healing every turn when you have two protect tiles out, which is easily achieved with some supports equipped.  I don't think her active yellow stops just at flipping strike and attack tiles to protect tiles. I think someone out there can turn these protect tiles into something more useful.

    3) Nothing special about her red except that it's cheap and deals additional damage with three friendly SPA tiles out.

She's SPA tiles dependent, so her natural partner are those specialising in creating special tiles for her teams or her enemies. Carnage fits the bill perfectly, with that team heal in PvE very turn to "negate" the attack tiles damage.

Rescue teaming up with Dr Doom equipped with Victorius support + another support that creates two protect tiles at the start of the turn or battle could trigger AoE damage every turn.

Rescue stands her ground between danger and the helpless: your ally, your savior, and your shield. Rescue converts all friendly Strike and Attack tiles into Protect tiles, then improves friendly Protect tiles by 259. If there are no friendly Strike, Attack, or Protect tiles on the board, create 2 strength 259 Protect tiles instead.

(PASSIVE) At the start of her turn, if there are 2 or more friendly Protect tiles on the board, heal Rescue's allies for a burst of 778 health.
    • Level 2: ...improves friendly Protect tiles by 298....allies for a burst of 908 health.
    • Level 3: ...improves friendly Protect tiles by 324....create 2 strength 285 Protect tiles...allies for a burst of 1037 health.
    • Level 4: ...improves friendly Protect tiles by 414....allies for a burst of 1167 health.
    • Level 5: ...improves friendly Protect tiles by 466....create 3 strength 311 Protect tiles...allies for a burst of 1556 health.

    @Brigby
can you confirm yellow heals only allies and not self.
for a healer, you want the people being healed to be on the front line... looks like she will be tanking instead.. not great if she doesn’t self heal.

Her best teammates are probably Bishop and Carnage?

So the Bishop pairing is interesting.  Should have enough blue to fire after 2 turns usually.  So you steal 3....

....but then Kitty’s purple kicks in and destroys what you just stole.

    Hmmmm...

Interesting that they're putting Iron Man in the store again so soon after the last one. Would have thought they would give that spot to someone else that was in Endgame like Okoye. But then again it could have been worse, like Wasp...*shudder*

You just pointed out all the reasons she’s bad. She’s dependent on enemy tiles for her blue to shine. And even then it’s not that great. Otherwise her blue does the equivalent of 2* damage for 9 AP. My level 144 2* Ares, Thor, Storm, Torch, Hawkeye, Mags, Wolverine, Moonstone, etc. all do more damage. That’s insane. And pairing her up with Carnage slows down the match and saddles her to a mid tier 4*.

Her yellow actively slows your match down (even further) and passively heals half of the damage you’d take from a simple match 3 (so it barely does anything). And it’s burst heal. And it doesn’t heal Rescue. Yikes.

Again, red is solid but as someone else mentioned, IW Cap is a better play if you are running someone just for red. Otherwise, Thor, Jess, Okoye, and Hela all have great reds.

Shes not even listed as team Iron Man (yet black suit Spidey and Surfer are) so no husband/wife synergy. Her passive heal makes her a bad Thor partner. She’s slow. And super wonky.

I’m really hoping the numbers were reported wrong, because there’s no way shes getting buffed. Instead it’s just another disappointing 5.

Not sure what to do now. Doom/CM and Hela or wait and do Hela Rescue and next.

Just hit 600 pulls while waiting for someone worth going for. Other option is to keep on ignoring and get Hela in a vault later on down the line.

Im going to stop hoarding now and start pulling classics with everything over 600 pulls. I’m just so bored waiting.

Doesn't Bishop remove protect tiles? That's less than ideal if you run him and Pepper together.

Kinda. You could try to go Rescue / Bishop / Thing and cycle through intercepts while healing up and nabbing blue AP from the protects. I don't think Rescue is really an above average addition to Bishop / Thing though, since you'd rather just have a reliable way to close out the game.

The way I see it it's a partner for Thorkoye. Thor gets a lot of Red for Rescue to spam at 6 with Okoye boosting each damage dealt (if it works that way). But this is not going to shake the world around. Another 5 I will probably pass on.

What about Okoye, GEDoom and rescue. With supports that bang out a couple of protects and victorious on GED you could have boosted auto-damage every turn. It’s a bit niche, granted, but it might be entertaining.

With her other suit being pink (purple) i would have thought she would have 1 ability in that color.  The cheap abilities and tile creation and stealing is a huge plus, i can see her finding a new spot in the meta, especially on defense in pvp and in pve.

Looking at this, I should probably hoard past Rescue. But the problem is, I want Hela.
So I either hope that the 5* after Rescue redeems Hela/Rescue/?? as a latest trio, which is a serious gamble at this point. Or I throw all my LLs at Doom/Hela to try to get my 0/0/2 Doom better covered. hm.

I thought I was going to hoard past Doom and Carol, but Rescue is so stupidly bad that... I might open my hoard now, get Hela, get GED (which I love the character from the comics) and Carol (at least when buffed with that match damage will make PvE super easy).

I really don't understand Devs char creation process. Cable is meh (4.5), KP is horrible (2), Doom is okeish (5.5), Carol is bad (3), Hela is great (8), and now Rescue looks quite bad too (she is kinda Doom but worse). Usually these type of games have a power creep, MPQ now has an inverse-power creep! It has even made some 4s (like Rocket and Bishop) more interesting than the latest 5s !!!! ****!

Another lame release for 5 land :(

PS: And if they wanted a counter to Gritty, do it with a passive, a starting match power or a really cheap power. You can easily kill her before she gets to 9AP if you are using Gritty or if Gritty is in defense your team might be extremely damaged before you get to 9AP.

All Systems Go -  9 bluetilepng AP
Pepper Potts takes flight to intercept an enemy missile and hack its navigational systems. Rescue deals 648 damage and steals 1 enemy Strike, Attack, or Protect tile. If there are non-Red enemy Strike, Attack, or Protect tiles on the board after this power is fired, convert them to Red.

This is purely pedantic but I really don't like this description - so this power only works against enemy missiles?

The beginning of every Rescue vs Kitty match will be, match 9 blue AP right away or lose.
Partner her with bishop. Job done. I’ve got up to 25-30 blue ap in a single enemy turn when using bishop against a gritty team before.

That's true but Bishop will eat up all those protect tiles as well. So it is not a perfect combo.

Good point. I didn’t think of that
