Welcome back. If I were to take an extended vacation, during which the state of the game deteriorated considerably, my first instinct would be to query the community in order to understand the malaise that has settled over much (certainly not all) of it. I’m sure you have the same unexpressed interest, so to wit;
People complain because we're playing the same tired events and facing the same metawarping cards and dealing with the same unfixed bugs and enduring the same inscrutable decisions and misplaced priorities.
People remain because we've bonded with our coalitions and communities, continue to believe in the premise and potential of the game, enjoy building collections and chasing cards, and appreciate the uniqueness of the game and the challenge in translating it across formats.
In other words, there's still good and bad, but it’s a continuum. The underlying reasons don’t really change. They never have, in the history of the game. However, the longer that the negative factors persist, the more they obfuscate the positives and become the focus of the player base.
The positive factors are why I’m still here. Well, that and one more: Because it’s something to do, and I get pretty bored without ways to entertain myself.
