    The devs intentionally pulled it

I would guess some part (or parts) of it was not as planned since as I’ve pointed out, some people could simply have gone crazy and covered The Ultimate Chase Items within 1-2 months of their release.

I assume they said this on Discord (and won't bother posting about it here)?

I wonder if anybody already got the 6* maxed out.

One legit whale at least has 11 on Galactus now.

    So almost.

I just don't get it. People want to give them money! Take the money!

Now I don’t want icecream anymore!

I am not sure what the value of holding grudge of the mpq forum is but if it contibute towards the next forum appreciation giveaway; then consider me holding a grudge. Grudge Master?!?

You seem to be desperately offended by something from months ago. It's clear you still need time to heal from the hurt of what happened. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thank you for your professional assessment and remedy. We will wait and see if next years the forum appreciation giveaway has a best MPQ psychiatrist award.

If they are sitting on fat stacks of HP, just burned HP on hand, the 6* progress may not have cost the player any "new" money.

They probably don’t want people getting 6 star shards so easily by resetting the vault

Perhaps the left hand, charged with withholding all things six-ish, kneweth not what the vaultmaker was doing-eth last week ... and didst indeed freak rightly out Monday morn.

    Something definitely wasn’t to plan!
I wonder if we’ll be getting another Winter Wonderland vault as a substitute…

It was technically titled Winter Wonderland Vault 1. Or at least I’m pretty sure it was. I’d check but…..yanno, motions to the general direction of MPQ headquarters

I mean, sure, maybe some had a giant stash, but maybe others would have bought (or did buy!) HP to use on the vault.

I strongly suspect the vault was not meant to be resettable, so that was why they took it down. Allowing someone to spend more-or-less unlimited hp on 6* shards (even if they're a fairly small amount,) seems counter to how they want to roll out the tier.
I mean, I myself was going to probably pull out the vault at least every other day, if not every day. It wouldn't be that much HP and it would get a nice lead on some covers.

Best way to get large stacks of HP liquidated is to give reasons to spend it. Then one might be tempted to buy more HP if there is something they feel worth the value!

Maybe the revenue guy and the 6* retention guy are having a fist fight right now

And further maybe it's the same guy

If so I hope they go easy on themselves.

We've seen what their revenue looks like.

If they're listening to anyone who's not the revenue guy at this point, they deserve to go out of business. Introducing 6* was a great way to fix their problems. Competitive players will pay to win, but only if you force them to. Give the whales a chance to buy the best stuff, then force everyone else to chase.

If they expect existing players to spend as part of turning that revenue around, first they got to soak up all that loose HP from players being endgame for years, along with all the "new" money created by the MMR follies over the summer. This vault was a good start, but they, or part of they, freaked and yoinked it.

Thus the fistfight allegory ... the want to be super tight on 6s is at odds with their need for cashflow.

I really don't understand why they don't just invent a new in game currency for the Whales to whale for 6*. Then no concerns about players with massive HP hoards who are not spending otherwise. And just limit the vault to a set amount of re-sets so at least there is something for everybody else.

Sure. Mentioned the need for more rest options between 'none' and 'infinite' myself ... I'm sure many have. Pretty obvious and easy to say ... but takes available, competent dev time to implement. D'oh!

Hasn't happened after all these years .... best time is always now!

6s are better than most supports as far as being useful, so far. But the distribution model is very reminiscent of early supports where mostly only whales could get the tokens that might offer a chance at a rank 4 or 5, and many players mostly ignored them.

That said 6s offer very slow constant progress from pve play so it’s not the same.

If they don’t want to put 6s in a resettable vault then do something almost as good like fave 5* shards and a costume store token and support tokens and like a mix of crazy stuff while holding back the 6s a bit. Everything below the 6 tier remains increasingly diluted and none of the prizes are special rewards any more. In the WW vault you got 400 shards for a few (3? 4?) 5s - not even a full cover; there are 115 of them for goodness sake; be more generous. To 550 all 115 is 12,995 covers.

Someone in a chat said that the vault was removed because some players were messing with the clocks on their phone to get repeated daily deals. Is this accurate? Did the devs say that's why it was removed?

    Discord exchange i saw ...

A dev noted that was happening. Also noted that there were players spending HP heavily on it.

Did not explicitly say why the vault was taken behind the chemical sheds. Whether in response to either of those phenomena, or both, or neither / something else entirely.

Also said the vault would be "restaged".

And that it would indeed be 1 of .... a series.
