Finally looks like a decent (and resettable) vault! A chance to splooge massive stores of HP to get some 6 star shards.

I predict that someone will max Galactus or Spidey out of this, and everyone can swap their complaints from "6* are so bad they're not even worth a roster slot" to "6* are so overpowered, they need to be nerfed immediately!"

That depends how many covers/shards you already have, for one.

Anyway, that level of spending wasn't uncommon during the 5* whale era. Too bad they drove them all away by allowing the free to play hoarders to catch up to them! I'm sure making things "fair" for non spenders was worth tens of thousands in missed revenue.

I've got 100k hp saved up right now and got up to 300k at one point. I'm completely free to play aside from Google play credit i earn from their survey app.

I'm sure there are whales who have millions of hp to spend.

I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Option 1: spend it now and gain a significant advantage

Option 2: wait to see if they offer a better ratio of shards for HP in the future (or perhaps wildcards)

To me the main point of this is to get those people with tons of hp to use some or all of it rather than wait a year + to finish one of the 6s.

Presumably there will be other opportunities in the future but also it’s the last half of the final month in the quarter and I’m sure they hope people will spend some money on hp here.

Somebody will. That's not the interesting part though.

The interesting part will be what everyone else does in response and how the metagame changes as a result.

That’s actually pretty good value if you’ve got a massive bank of HP saved up. I haven’t spent a significant amount for years. Chances are I’ll spend ~60k here for 1 cover (600 shards) of each of the 6 stars, as that’s about 2 months of acceleration to my roster (based on current PvE shard income of ~80 per event).

God, this is awful. These vaults are such a slap in the face.

First they ran the terrible anniversary vaults, that had nothing useful. Now, what do they do? Run actually good vaults, as a way to force us all into spending our hard earned resources! It's actually evil. Honestly, there has probably never been such an evil group of people on Earth, ever.

I'm literally shaking right now. I feel so violated.

It would be nice if we could exchange shards for our 550s, as was on the "roadmap" for when Unity was done but imagine that will never happen. The vault is nice, but lots of shards for characters I have at 550.

Buddy, I think you might need to take a break from this site. I’d tell you to touch grass but if you’re in the Northern hemisphere it’s Winter and touching snow doesn’t have the same grounding effect.

If the devs rotate which 6 is in rewards, to get to 600 as a 21-100 player you'll get 80 per pve which leads to needing 8 runs divided by 3 6s, with 7 pves per 8 weeks (boss has no 6* shards) so you will need 12 weeks plus another 1.5, or 13.5 weeks to get 8 times of getting shards for each of the 6s. Around that time they'll probably release the 4th one if they stick to their stated schedule.

Anyway if you get 600 for the two current ones you're really saving 13.5 weeks ish by my calculation, depending on how you look at it.

Seems like a good use of HP, better than lots of other things if you're at 550.

I didn't even consider that someone who goes super deep into this vault will max out both of the 6* at once.

I'm really interested to see what that looks like. I'm not sure they synergize, but it would probably be an OML/Phoenix situation where they're just so much better than the next tier down that they become the default best team.

LOL they're actually a total nightmare paired together -- Spidey gives a passive damage reduction that will presumably stack with the Galactus passive, and they only overlap on purple so you're eating 6* match damage on everything but green. The criticals will go crazy.

At least Spidey can be stunned, I guess?

So I dont have much information to share about the previous runs of the ww vault. Only items to report are that the vaults dropped roughly ten days later than usual, previous years vaults lasted for a week this one is for two weeks, multiple runs of vaults with different characters, and the final run is a repeat of the first vault.

Main takeaway from my notes is that the reason I dont have much on these is because the December Deals vault was light-years better than any ww vault. The DD vault has started on Dec 18th the past two years, so hopefully we get it again in a few days. Honestly thou, not holding my breath.

Not many people will care if the MMR is done right. If it's like when 5* came out and people got them champed I will rarely see these people or enough of them to care. I have enough depth in 5* and 4* to 550 that I'm not in the least bit interested in chasing 6* at the most expensive period for them. I can catch up like every other tier when the tap is opened. If it never opens I still don't care. 550 ascension was the planned end game and they messed that up, I'm confident this will be messed up too due to constant complaints about it being to much of a slog.
