Well if you'd rather complain than get advice on how to break into the upper tier, that's your prerogative, I suppose.
Two weeks ago, I was just as frustrated as you are now. Then I figured it out. I do think you have a valid point, though, that the longer the game goes on, the more difficult it will be for people to make serious headway. Hopefully most people that get the covers they need maxed will stop playing in those rounds (as Forgrim, Polkio, and others here have indicated).0 -
I think most people will stop playing in them when they get what they need. They certainly aren't worth the headache otherwise.0
-
i'm playing in NON hood ones for iso farm when i have the time. that way i can reach 250 relatively peacefully, instead of hood's hair tearing OH LOOK YOU LOST 80 POINTS teeheeeeeeeeeeee0
-
I'm really confused as to why this hasn't been fixed yet.0

The lightning rounds are one of the best sources of ISO generation in the game.
They could remove all of the ISO gain from the event, including matches. This would make it not worth farming if you already had the covers.0 -
then there's alot less reward for those trying to grind for the rewards, and if they miss the reward tier, they'd feel even extra bad.
but yes, lightning tourneys is a good 20-60k of iso in a 2 days, depending on how dedicated you are in competing in every single one. nowadays, i compete in 1/5 tourneys, and generally make like 15k in the two days.0 -

I make around 20k a day, just shooting for 250 in the ones I can compete in.
To put things in perspective, if they removed the HP buff at this point I would farm 50k+ ISO a day off of these tournaments with no more of a time commitment than currently. So I am all for removing these HP buffs, for these lightning rounds.0 -
Huh. I haven't been running up nearly that high most of the time. Think I'm going to try. I could sure use more iso. My highest level guys are still around 70.0

Exactly. Removing the health buff will make these tournaments 'worse' in terms of keeping top players from pulling away. It takes 2-3 thunderclaps to kill maxed level 3 star characters that are not health buffed. The only thing that slows a high-level Rag down is the amount of health the villains have.0 -

I actually thought they implemented the health buff as an indirect cstorm nerf.0 -
Ye, but the nerfbat is a twosided weapon. 109 Rag in my bracket. Wanted to retaliate and saw the HP number. Arrow to get back to the select screen. Got back to the enemy team screen. Number still that high. In the blink of an eye, I decided so treat it like....

Think I owe you an apology. I had problems during this Rag round getting the same people again and again, and I think you were one of them. I also kept getting zathrus and Dugn, but skipped them repeatedly.
When you are winning matches as fast as possible, you hardly notice the names half the time, but I think you and one other I might have hit multiple times. I really wish the matchmaking would prevent that unless there's a retaliation. It's just not fair to people trying to claw their way up.0 -

Thanks for skipping me, i skipped you too0 -
My **Wolvie/**Storm combo works fine for the lightning round. Until there are 15 minutes left to go. Then the big, bad bullies like oyu get in- and I tap the red circle and think by myself: 35 POINTS! AND THEY ONLY GOT...........nope.
But in the Loki round, I did use mine accidentaly and had a **Wolvie versus me. Jesus Christ in heaven, the tile manipulation even works (just in case you never used it at all).
What I could get so far: 3/1 Loki, 1/1/1 Hood, 1/1 Rag, 2/0 Doom, 1/0/0 ***Mag.
Just to fire up your guilty conscience0 -
I love to play a game, keep clicking skip and see how many times in a row you see a level 60+ rags. Highest so far I got was 12
I would love to see anyone on here get a diabolical token or higher with no buffed characters. I think its near on impossible at this point. Even using boost the highest I got was 70 odd with like 15mins out then its like win one match only to se you have lost 5...
Sadly I invested too much in hero's and have never been able to catch a break with villain covers, now the gap is way to far out.
This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't just covers, but the fact that it is without a doubt the best iso farm, meaning they can be putting iso into their heroes and skewing even more tournaments in the future.
Sad, as I put so much time into this game and now it would take me months to get back into the top brackets again.0 -
It is entirely possible, but only in few rounds. Ragnarök? No. Magneto? No. Hood? Rather not. Doom? Possible. Loki? Of course. I am trying to get my Loki up in the hope that they will buff him to the state of usefulness. The Rag tourney that is running right got me 3 options to ake my first match, none of those guys had a Rag below 40. You won't get him, but that's it.0

My strategies have been
Hood: Just get 100 points and tank (i have a decent hood but its way too random to try hard)
Doom: Just get 100 points and tank, or aim for a diabolical
Loki: Aim for diabolical
Mags: Aim for top 8
Rags: Aim for top 8 and fail every time0 -

That being said, it's still possible to place moderately high. I've gotten top 8 using cookie cutter Thor+c.Storm last week or 2 weeks back. Just today, I got top25 using Thor+Spidey, both lvl80. I don't use boosts either. Damn token gave me Loki though0 -

This was without any retaliations, mind0
