Holiday Office Closures

For once I've really enjoyed the break, I could probably take another 3 or 4 months of this before they load them back in.

Breaks in gaming are a always good, IME, IMO, but people like to have a feeling of agency. Seem to be happier when they choose a break, or wonder into one on their own, rather than feel forced into one. Surprise!
Play what there is to play, or don't. Let LTs and CP pile up if tokens don't rotate a/o offers don't offer.
Have a little resource party when the time comes.

Lol! There ppl in my alliance asking where is pve? I am glad in the publishers infinite wisdom they decided not to post anything in game. I dont even think the mentioned new devs incoming.I posted, coming soon TM, in-game chat and closed the app.
Any other games ppl picked up? Not a fan of EB's analysis of candy crush being similar
This is an excellent point.
I'd argue that it's the most important point that anybody has made in the hundreds of comments here.
The vast majority of MPQ players don't read these forums or other external sources of information about the game. They won't be aware of the changes that are happening behind the scenes.
Without any clear in-game communication, many of them will have logged in, seen no new PVE events, no new PVP events, and assumed that the game was being abandoned completely.
That will lead to some of them abandoning MPQ, perhaps for good.
@S0kun, please address this oversight.
For their benefit, our benefit, and your benefit, please make an in-game post that at least tells players that things will be back to normal sooner rather than later, and please do so ASAP.
Thank you.

@Bullroarer
First, there are new PvP events right now.Second …they CANNOT make in game announcements currently. It is utterly impossible. The ingame news function is unreliable at best. Does not seem to have a way to store news. All that seems to happen is we get somewhat random seeming popups full of typos and font size info about current sales on hp.
The game is still a disaster as far as presentation.
So here we are. It sucks but all they can do is post outside the game and hope people tell alliance members what’s happening.

I get pop ups in game for offers every day. Don't tell me they can't make an in game announcement.

While we wait for the game to be.... a game again, I sure hope I don't realize that I don't miss the game. It's only inevitable that the longer they take to do the simplest of things, the more we will realize the sun still shines elsewhere.

From S0kun on Discord:"Hi all. We're back in the office and still catching up. To clarify some of the chatter about IP2, we're still in the transition phase of the switch which should be wrapped up by mid January. We'll be introducing the new team around that time so I'll gather a few of your questions for an upcoming new years blog."
So, take 2 weeks, everyone. Enjoy your new hobbies.
Did he say there'd be no PvE until then? Did he clarify what "transition phase" even means?
Honestly their commitment to unclear communication is pretty impressive. I'm not sure I could do this on purpose!
Perhaps they should use more paragraph breaks for those of us who have trouble reading long things.

I’m not saying it’s excusable, but that seems to be broken currently as a thing BCS ignored.
Of course it shows blatant disrespect to your players to not once over 6 months of bugs and snafus and the dumpster fire bother to make “easy clear communication” a priority.

I know that we all laugh about how many times "end of game" has been screamed over the last many years. But this really may do it. I agree with above posts that if you haven't found forums/discord/etc and you have only recently started playing, you would assume the game is dead. Same with any new players trying to join. You finish the tutorial and then the early campaign but nothing to keep you going.
I really, really hope this isn't it but this is the most glum I have ever felt about the game's future. Will be interesting to see if the new PvP at least starts after the current one ends.

If they have to rely on burned out or addicted players to keep going, that's not a good business model anyway. I hope this break forces a lot of those folks to evaluate what they're doing, and I hope they don't come back. If it kills the game, so be it -- it didn't deserve to live.

Oh we are riding it into the ground now, we all know it but won't step off until it's official. I've never seen the turnover and mergers in the last 3 or 4 months at any time in my 10+ years. The difficulty recruiting and after merging looking to merge again and again as we hemorrhage long time players.
I'm fine with it, I've played this game daily more than any game in my life. I've got my monies worth. They could've got a few more strong years out of it but they gave the game to a group that blew the game economy out the window and made the previous lot look like gaming design gods.
I don't want anyone to lose their job but they did an utterly dreadful job.

If your alliance has minimums or daily play requirements, try easing up on those. I have neither and haven't had any trouble filling spots!

I have a hunch it's not going to die anytime soon, even though it certainly feels like we are circling the drain. As long as they still turn ANY profit, then why shut it down? But I agree that this is the worst it's ever been, and the silence (both from the devs but also from the game being empty with no one around) is deafening. We've all laughed and joked about people proclaiming the game was dying for over 10 years now. I've learned not to assume anything, but they have a big hole to dig themselves out of. I'll be interested to see how they attempt to do so, but I'm not holding my breath... They never seem to care, just throw a few random tokens our way, pretend it never happened, and learn zero lessons from the screwup. Oh well, into the void we go!

I gotta admit following this game has been like following MBA case study but actually experiencing and knowing about all the nuances in footnotes.
In all seriousness, this game and line has more or less replaced any time spent on ps5 . I've spent enough (over 3 figures)(but certainly not in buy club super whale status) and not regretted a cent. So I've gotten great value for both time and money spent.

Yep I remember the times people said they were told the game was closing down etc etc. The difference now though is the MCU is also so far down the drain that reclaiming players will be so much tougher. Like Star Wars, there's so much apathy for what Disney have put out lately for Marvel. I'm not sure there's enough to retain players anymore.

I’m not saying this will happen here. But the DC match 3 that launched July 2023 was quietly abandoned for new development and there was no announcement besides some random CS replies saying the game was shutting down. Months after that (a few days ago) it was pulled from the app stores and it’s dead.
Again. No announcements or warnings. Just happened . They took money until the end, of course.
For this game to keep running they just need to balance out the costs of running servers and whatever staff they have on it and make enough profit for their tastes.
The observed mobile revenue is already down 60-70% so we can’t know what their line is from our vantage point.

That's how these things work. We won't know until it's gone, and it's impossible to predict when it'll be gone.
I've played games that seemed to be thriving when the rug got pulled, and I've played games that look dead from the outside that carry on forever.
