The really funny thing about that team is that Carol's green passive is just extra. I run her 5/5/3, because her black is another CD power that also makes strikes, and her yellow is the key to the entire thing working. That yellow passive is unbelievably strong -- especially when you're spamming 1-turn CD tiles like crazy.

There should be quite a few teams (low level included) that can dispatch them. Have you checked all the "Pick 3 basically can't lose" on page 1?

Needless to say, my Coulson is not ascended, so this is just interesting information to me and not a team I can use this year, probably not next year either.
Assuming all 3 of your team are 550, do you put any thought into the order? Presumably that passive green extra does make a small difference on defence, even if you don't see it? Assuming no damage boosts on your supports you're choosing to tech against black, yellow or blue with that team depending on who you run in slot 1. Which of those is best against the meta? Not saying that the difference will be huge by any stretch but it's an interesting conversational topic if nothing else!

To be totally honest, I don't!
Unfortunately I don't think any of those colors matters a ton in the current high level metagame. I suppose the theoretical best choice would be Carol in the middle, because Chasm's strongest is black.

I just ascended Coulson (finally!) just now and immediately tried out this team (my Carol was already ascended) and yes, this works a treat (beat some lvl 638 team on The Tower). Obviously mine aren't 550 so not super fast but the other team could do nothing!

Sorry if this was already answered, tried to scan through the 10 pages and didn’t find it… I see the “can’t lose” Darkveil + Shang team benefits from Fantasticar on Shang, but now that Fantasticar can’t be used, is there any other support to put on Shang? Or do you swap him out for another hero+support? Thanks in advance!

I normally use power stone on him so I’m familiar with that… still got beat by some teams lol so for non-team damage enemies I bring Frankie and MThor and normally have no major issues, for team damage enemies the Electro+Darkveil one seems to work just fine… I sometimes also use Shang+MThor because MThor’s mess makes it easy to match red or purple oftenly, and I use Omnipotence on her

Hobby has a Refreshment cart mainly for Chasm stun negation but also fun random tile generation, Coulson has Quantum Realm for AP generation and little match defense and that's basically it. The third doesn't really matter, I just give them the stun batons for more AP generation coverage (or just go with 3a4 May in Sim to speed things up). Use Coulson purple to match for black/blue and go see where the AP takes you. at a certain point you should have Hobby's blue engine online, but its not a guarantee and does require a little luck and some smart matching - you know, like a match 3 game should.
Anyway, I'm having fun with these guys and that's what really matters when playing a game, right?

Absolutely @WampaX I actually look for teams that can get me wins fast and with minimal damage taken (to save on health packs) but I don’t care about placement or defense… if they suck at defense that’s fine lol I just look for teams that can win fights and I like to have a couple of options for different types of enemies so I don’t have to skip and skip and skip fights in PVP, that’s how I stumbled upon this thread

Yeah that's one I called out in the release thread for Hobgoblin -- it's such an obvious oversight I can't believe they released him! CD reduction abilities are supposed to be yellow, but making that any color besides blue would've been safe too.
Instead they created an infinite engine that works with like 4 other CD shenanigans guys!

Being able to place them on different colors and tailoring what you need to do for the threat is fantastic. Green's tile destruction and Blue's stun are probably the best, but purple being able to drain AP is also strategically important sometimes. The fact that the blue bomb is a random stun that ignores already stunned characters means it just doesn't care if there are invisible opponents, they will eventually be stunned once everyone else is downed or stunned.
This type of flexibility in a power is what excites me about figuring out how to use a character. Give me more options that can address different threats over a single big red/purple nuke any day. More choices make the game more interesting to play - that's generally true for any game.

The supports people mentioned are definitely good for him, however, if you are struggling to win or want to save health packs, you might want to look in to some of the other strategies.
She still shines with yellow strategies and infinites in pick 3, but pick 2 is a harder sell, especially when others like Hawkeye, Frankie and Moonstone etc. are easy options.
