I'm not reading 5 pages.I'm tired of losing to 672 one star characters like Spidey and Juggs who can just immediately nuke your entire team. Those characters desperately need to be nerfed at higher levels.
In the last event where he was boosted, a lvl 672 havok could do that too. There are a lot of characters that can do that at 672. A 672 being able to wreck your team isn't an indication they need to be nerfed. Look instead at the characters that don't need to be boosted to 672 to wreck your team.
If this argument had merit, I would've seen Havok. I didn't. He was nowhere to be found. But EVERY high end team last PvP was running the Spider. And now, the big ones are running Juggs. They aren't even shielding. They're floating. Out.
Let me be clear, I dealt with them. I scored over 4k in the last PvP, finished top 25, and I'm fine with that. I'm not complaining about placement. I'm complaining about the freaking Spectacular Strategy on turn 1 that either does or basically does end the match. It's dumb. Always has been. If Rhodey's critical nuke and May's boost can be nerfed at the 5* level, there's no good reason why these 1* characters shouldn't at least have these cheap powers that werent designed for this level also nerfed.
I did see havok, you know who ran him? The big whales that have everyone at 550. Just because YOU didn't see him in your slice and mmr doesn't mean he wasn't being used at all. You didn't see him everywhere because who has a 550 havok? Only the biggest whales.
Who has 550 1a5? Anyone with 20 dollars. They aren't so much better than regular 5 stars, they're just much more attainable.

I fight plenty of whales. I scored 4400 in last PvP and came in 16th place. If you think for one second I wasn't fighting whales, you're incorrect.
I saw 1 Havok. One. He was part of someone's seal team.

Well I can tell you the biggest whales in slice 2 who comes in first place each and every event was running havok all boost week, and they don't play seal teams.
Often the big guys in slice 2 are playing teams that the masses aren't, and most times those teams end up being much deadlier.
I fought hoards of 1a5 spider man teams last week and didn't even come close to losing to a single one of them

I’m sure that will go over well with the many many people who have them as their only 550s. None of those guys are nerf-worthy.They're very nerf worthy. They're not politically sound nerfs, but which ones are? The entitlement at that level is absurd. You're telling me they'll all stop playing if Spectacular Strategy costs 8 AP?
Are you seeing people run them with the free AP supports? I never see this -- I rarely see the 1* at all, and when I do they're not running these anymore.
Does leapfrog work? Headbutt can't hit though it, but I guess Spidey can cascade you through it.
When boosted, after my initial climb, every single team I saw last PvP ran Spidey. After my initial climb today, every top team I saw had Juggs.
Leapfrog does help. So does Chasm, if you have someone to team him with. I do. But even then, the other team also usually brings Fantasticar and purple supports. So, turn 0, they have 12 purple, throw the nuke. If the crits don't kill the invisible tile, the car usually does. If the car doesn't get it, the second Spectacular Strategy on turn 2 does it. And usually all this means they get to fire it a third time on turn 3. I also see people who bring their own Leapfrog as an alt support.
That's really interesting, I wonder why you're seeing this and I'm not.
Beyond leapfrog, there's Eros Arrow too, but you've got to hope it targets the important guy unless you have an archer, and it's vulnerable to board destruction too. Fantasticar only works for 4 turns, but if they're running +12 AP that might be all they need.
They should give us a support that makes enemy abilities cost +1 AP or something.
Fwiw I'm not using the 1* as often now that I have a bunch of 2* at 672 -- for the most part they're just better. So you've got that to look forward to.

The problem with the arrow is the same as the problem with leapfrog. Does it help? Yes. But Fantasticar, 12 purple AP to begin, means Spectacular Strategy almost always zeroes right in on that tile. It's almost always a waste of a support slot in this scenario.

Spectacular strategy shouldn’t be 6ap, it sound be 7. I would adjust Spiderman to 6ap/5ap/7ap to balance him a bit better.
The problem with spectacular strategy isn’t the power itself necessarily, it’s stacking AP supports that allow it to be used turn 1. AP stacking via supports should be eliminated from the game, no more batons with quantum realm for cheese. If one grants AP the other doesnt, simple.
Starting matches with 12-16 ap is so stupid. The supports have been abandoned in the most unfortunate place and hopefully once the new engine is in place they address either the balance issues or their place in PvP overall.
Shamsali could score 4-5k in s4 if they cared to so acting like s2 is some scrub factory is a bit much. It has less players, there’s less coordination theres less points available to climb off of. Your scoring 4k because of the amount of coordination and teams available to hit at 70+ every hop not because there’s some higher skill ceiling involved.

I do think that power is probably too good. If it cost 7 that'd be a pretty serious nerf -- the difference between 6 and 7 is actually huge right now.
So what's the deal with Juggernaut? Are they running 12 green supports? When I see him it's with Implanted Bomb, and he ends up healing a ton from match-4s. I don't think you can get to 12 red, and I doubt anybody wants to use packs for a double headbutt every fight. Leapfrog does shut down headbutt pretty well, too.

Interesting how times have changed. When I played in s1, s3 and s4, I would climb to 1500 and then shield hop off cupcakes to 3000+. Usually i would fight 10-15 difficult matches and then coast to 3000+. I guess technically whales baked cupcakes so technically I was still fighting against whales.
Are there no longer cupcake trains? Have new releases made it difficult to bake? I am genuinely curious

I go to slice 4 when I'm too busy with real life to play real pvp. Not even being in a room I can climb to like 2000 points on 70 point cupcake teams. Unless things have drastically changed in the past few months since I last played there then slice 4 and slice 1 are easy mode.

But, please, tell me more about how your experience is harder when you're in a far weaker slice that apparently doesn't team up on you.

There are seals, but I'm not in the room. So, have I hit cupcakes? Yes. But I don't know when they're out. It's luck of the draw for me. And the room gangs up on me all the time. If I don't have a defensive team, I get lit up all the time by three or four people at a time. I often play to 50 wins simply because they don't let me get to 1200.

Re: Juggernaut - this is what I'm seeing a lot this PvP. I might actually attack this team because they aren't taking support AP. This team is out, floating.

Well I can tell you the biggest whales in slice 2 who comes in first place each and every event was running havok all boost week, and they don't play seal teams.
Often the big guys in slice 2 are playing teams that the masses aren't, and most times those teams end up being much deadlier.
I fought hoards of 1a5 spider man teams last week and didn't even come close to losing to a single one of them
Well, good for you. I play in a real slice.
I play in a slice where everyone is playing against each other and you play in one of the ones where everybody holds hands and cooperates, but you're in a " real one"..
I don't, actually. I play in a slice where everyone gangs up on me because I don't participate in the coordination. So, I have coordinated attacks against me all the time. But, please, tell me more about how your experience is harder when you're in a far weaker slice that apparently doesn't team up on you.
Who said no one teams up on me? I have to # once I get to about 1000 and then hop to 1200 and I can't stay out for more than like 2 minutes if I don't want to wind up being minus 200 points while I hit someone for 30.
How exactly is my slice weaker? There's like 7 guys that all have nearly everyone at 550 and stay out all event to hit the heck out of anyone that tries to climb.
I've played in slice 1 and slice 4 It's not hard to shield hop for 3 or 4 70 point teams in one hop over and over again until you reach over 2000 points. Those slices are where I go to vacation on easy mode.

So needing more points to get good placement is weaker? No, artificially pumping up scores through coordination doesn't make your slice stronger, it makes it weaker.
Try playing in one where there are no 70 point cupcake teams and you have to actually fight real teams for 25 or 30 points.
