Yes, I hope we get another day until 31st. It would be fitting for it to end on Halloween. Also note to devs, there are people who are still clueless about the challenge a month in. Let's face it, you can telepathically beam announcements into people's head and they will still ignore it. People just don't like to read or look up stuff online.
My suggestion is to have daily quests that organically contributes to the challenge. For example, kill 20 zombie enemies, or win with Headpool 10 times etc.
The root problem isn't people ignoring communications, it's the truth that you can't force people to receive communications. No matter how many channels are leveraged with whatever frequency, some people will never see it. And the return in terms of reaching new people with each subsequent communication attempt drops dramatically.
If you want someone to see a message you've got to put it where you know they won't miss it, i.e., in the freakin' game. Pointers to other platforms are not sufficient.
Even if you get the memo in front of eyeballs, then yes, there is a hurdle of people disregarding, not buying in, effectively ignoring it. In this case, being resistant to changing daily habits, being resistant, even resentful of, a demand for increased playtime, etc.

Hence the suggestion in my last paragraph. Bake it into normal activities therefore you're making people contribute to it without forcing them to alter their habits too much.

They could rerun the infinity wars support store that introduced the stones.
I asked that in the Q&A but they politely ignored meYou didn't even get a "That's a GREAT idea! We'd LOVE to do that [maybe / someday] !" ?
Harsh.

These community events won’t work until your progress is shown in-game.I disagree. There are alot players that are not willing to spend more time in game irregardless of what the rewards are. They can go ahead and add a tracker but it not going to make a difference. This community challenge, they made a month long boost for characters that trigger points. They incentivised players with rewards for high contribution and we still did not reach the target. we also need to get rid of the, " we have not gotten t5 in last x times, so why bother trying" players it is not going to happen either.
Also we have completed two community challenges when there was no progress tracker in game.
My solution is just offer the stones in a store and be done with it.
The two we completed:
The first was at last year's Anniversary. I think a lot of lapsed players checked back in for the 10th and ascension which was at least interesting as finally something that felt different was happening. This helped the effort, possibly, if engagement was pushed up. BUT I think the main thing that differed was that the points came from completing quests which were in the game, and gave you iso for every one you completed. So even if you had NO idea that a challenge existed, you got something for helping the effort because there were QUESTS in the game you could pursue and get something out of.
The second one we completed was tied in large part to acquiring tokens (I think), opening them (definitely) and applying them - and a new 2 came out and they introduced the special 2* legendary tokens we all love to chase, AND had a whale challenge for getting your 2NC to 5* status so basically they gave us more things to chase to help OUR specific rosters as well as it just being a thing everyone friggin does. And we got points for it! And we easily cleared the challenge! And it didn't give us a Stone but it was better than failing to get one over and over and over again!
No "use your special costume you bought to get bonus points while also using that the other character with a costume but maybe both costumes help or maybe just one and which of these characters is the right one? no, not all versions, just the specific one we are mentioning on this forum post".
I am completely sick of these stupid end tier goals when they don't give us the events to use for points and FARK THIS WHOLE THING. Leave off the end tier if that's too generous or whatever. I don't really care if I can't get more stones tbh as I can one-shot many nodes already and most times I clear in 3-4 turns max every time.
The way we won is when they created conditions and goals that engaged thousands of players who only look at stuff in game that can benefit them directly, or when it's ancillary to things we already do all the time. So far.

Well said, 'wolf. Don't forget to throw in the customary "MPQ math mistakes on the back end" as targets for ire.

Well, we're at 189.4 million now. I think the goal is still in reach.

It was only 179 mil when I checked this morning and now it's 189.6
Either the counter wasn't working earlier and it just updated, or we're making tremendous progress today.

Or we got an unexplained pity boost of points from the devs.

A little less than real time, ha.
I don't expect to see individual points ticking up, but even hourly updates would be a big improvement.

179 mil is what I saw which had lead me to conclude we had no chance. This seems very unreliable, we aren't going to inspire more community effort if we have wrong data.

Okay, I kept track, exactly 4 h 30 ago we were at exactly 180 mil, I can say that 100% for sure, so either pity boost or there really was some math error

To be clear, these are 100% not real-time numbers. I don't completely understand the tech jargon but basically, there are multiple rounds of "hand shakes" that report from in-game, to our servers, to the reporting database, and finally run through the algorithm we've set up on the back end of that database. There are many opportunities for data spikes, like server ping delays, patch releases, and regional upticks in people logging in for the day etc.
Also, I've got the keys while many team members are away for Holiday so my morning coffee break on the 31st could take longer than usual....

To this: Saw the same thing. Looked at it last night, looked at it this morning, said "huh" at the jump. Checked the queries/math, everything's hunky dory. On the back end, it's a pretty steadily growing line. Player facing end had a more sharp spike. That's duct taped reporting for ya. You all are actually where you are. So close! Considering hiding the coffee from Blaine on the 31st...

I've been meaning to ask this all month, so of course I'll ask it now:
What is the significance of this section?**Relevant Characters
**2* Headpool
4* Blade
4* Spider-Man (Infinity War)
5* Doctor Strange (Sorcerer Supreme)Are these just non-cover-swapped characters that are also point-generating?

Blade has a Midnight Suns affiliation and costume. Does he provide bonus points with costume? Unknown but if you use him and have it, equip it.
