Quandary's return has heralded an undead terror upon our MPQ 11th Anniversary celebrations so we need your help in taking them down in our latest Zombie Slayer Community Challenge. Work together with the Midnight Suns and MPQ Original Characters to defeat these once-heroic Zombies!

Reach the final tier of the challenge and not only will you unlock  epic community-wide rewards like a 3-Star Support Stone, but we'll also let players decide who we should "Raise from the Dead" by unlocking our next Rebalance Vote Poll.

For the top Zombie Slayers out there, we'll be running a weekly top 10 leaderboard competition for the most zombies slain with awesome rewards gifted weekly.

Goal

Earn 200 Million Zombie Slayer Points

Community Challenge

  • Winning any Battle against a Zombie team

    • 1 Point per Featured Cover Swap
    • 1 Point per Zombie Minion

  • Earn bonus progress when defeating or playing with Doctor Strange (Dead Strange), Headpool, or Spider-Man (Zombie)

    • 5 Points per Zombie Hero defeated

  • Earn bonus progress when using MARVEL Puzzle Quest Originals: Deadpool (Devpool), Deadpool (Spirit of Vengeance), Hit-Monkey (EDI Suit), Jeffrey (Symbiote), Omega Red (Horseman of Pestilence), Peggy Carter, Vulture (Armor Wars), Wolverine (Samurai Daken)

F.A.Q.

Do we get points for using a cover swapped (Comic Book cover changed to Zombie theme) character to defeat a zombie?

No. Points are earned when defeating a team containing any Featured Zombie Comic Book Cover Swaps or Zombie Minion.

You can also earn points by winning any battle with the MPQ Originals, Midnight Suns, or Zombie Costumed Characters listed in the original Blog Post. .

How come we can’t track progress in-game?

Community challenges currently live in their own out-of-game bubbles where our community team is utilizing analytics tools that weren’t designed for this feature and connecting those dots manually to activities in-game that also aren’t designed to be broadcasted publicly. While we 100% agree that it would be awesome to be able to track these community challenges in-game, we simply can’t with the game’s current architecture.

How are points earned differently with the equippable characters listed in the challenge on your team vs when you defeat a team with these characters in it?

When defeating a zombie team with these members on YOUR team, bonus points should be earned upon Victory:
Doctor Strange (Dead Strange), Headpool, or Spider-Man (Zombie), Midnight Suns affiliations, MPQ Originals.

Additionally, bonus points are earned for defeating Doctor Strange (Dead Strange), Headpool, or Spider-Man (Zombie) on an enemy team (with this being counted for BOTH) if you were to use one of these on your team to beat one of these listed characters.

i.e.
Team Polaris, Rocket & Groot, Juggernaut vs Enemy with Headpool = 5 points for defeating enemy Headpool
Team Polaris, Rocket & Groot, Spider-Man (Zombie) vs Enemy with Headpool = 10 points, 5 Points allied listed Zombie + 5 Points enemy Headpool

If you use three MPQ Originals in a battle, is it worth 1 point or 3? Same for Midnight Suns.

For purposes of the Community Challenge, each “category” is counted once separately. i.e., If you use any/all MPQ Originals, that’s 1 point. If you use any/all Midnight Suns, that’s 1 point. For the Zombie Killing leaderboard, these extra points have no effect (since the goal is to defeat zombies, NOT utilize characters related to them)

We don't appear to get points for using a cover swapped character?

Correct. You get a point for defeating a Cover Swapped character, not for using one. This is to entice users to find them out in the wild, as opposed to using appx 20% of the roster for points. To note, Ascended versions of these characters also count towards the goal, even though the Ascended versions aren’t cover swapped themselves, as the base is.

What counts as a zombie team? What missions should I be doing to get community points?
Any team with Zombie Minions in PVE.
Any team with characters with zombie Cover Swaps (whether base or Ascended) in PVE or PVP.

Both of these are separate points, so if you were to find a team with both Zombie Minions AND a Cover Swapped enemy, that’d be 2 points.

    Love that we are getting cover swaps and more importantly getting bonus points for using such characters,

    The weekly leader board should be interesting. I wonder if tapping will be possible to generate really high scores :)

    I think I must be missing something. We already have 666k points, but I don't see any zombie teams?

    I came on to ask the question about how to collect the SXP. Perhaps in the introducing event?

    Just beat the zombie team in the Headpool event with Immortal Hulk, Pool5 (Spirit) and Samurai Daken and still no points on my Anniversary Pass. Am I missing something?

    Well, the zombie vault still shows post-event, there’s no anniversary announcement in the news, so maybe the anniversary hasn’t officially started yet?

    I'm not sure what's the worst part: Putting a rebalance on the line over a community challenge ; or making the main way to gain points for it tied to costumes, destroying the tradition of those being a cosmetic only thing :/

    Both feel so dire for the future of the game it overshadows my excitement for the stone.

    Not the point and you know it, this game shouldn't ever "doomed" given one or two megawhales revenue should be enough to keep the potato servers running.

    Keep in mind this isn't like top10/25 boss, rules won't be bent to ensure tier 5 is reached. It's about the precedents. You really wanna argue it's fine they set (sometimes arbitrarely stupid high) goals that half the playerbase doesn't see or fully understand, so we can be told "oopsie no rebalance this month u failed lol" ?

    The pedantic cynic in me is yelling "But the rebalance will go ahead, you just don't get to choose who it is, and in any case the choice will be from a bunch of unusable characters who are not going to escalate to the meta on the back of the rebalance anyway".

    I don't understand, ppl wanted new content and this is exactly what they get. And now the complaint is it is not rolled out smoothly??? Or they got it perfect on the first attempt. Of course there will be bugs and unforseen events. Ppl expectations are way too high. Relax in 28 days it will be perfect.

    Also silver surfer' cover looks fine on the roster screen, but when I click it from the character screen it is a purple box. I DEMAND THIS GET FIXED ASAP. Or the future of this game is doomed...upped it to 358th time. :)
