Or publish the top 100 or something. Lol I did a ton of zombie nodes, kind of curious if everyone else just did THAT much more, or if I was close.

I'll admit I'm shocked that we actually made it, good job ya'll! I full-cleared (and repeated, a little) the vs zombie events, respect to those who REALLY went after it. I suspect Lightning rounds helped us out more than you'd think, our points were more steady and higher overall on those days.

It’s also possible that as things got to the end of the week, procrastinating casuals who had partly or fully ignored the event jumped in and cleared it.

Not saying LRs didn’t help but it’s not exactly a safe assumption to think everyone cleared the nodes every day 4x. A lot of people might have hit it hard the last few days every week.

every node worked? i just kept hitting the zombies nodes... like 16x a day per node. i fell asleep once and woke up to my phone still on a battle.

For the "use" points, yeah. Much better points return on the single wave zombie node with one of the high value characters, though.

also curious but giving that info is a recipe for disaster with their current design. If you grind all of week1, and realize top10 is doing 2x more points that you do, you won't even try the rest of the month. Multiply that by hundred players per week and you get the average community challenge, failing tier5

... and no one even knows their own point total, so the answer would have no relevance at all. Are these top #s 2x mine? 10x? 100x?

I have heard that some of the winners barely played the zombie nodes, and that most of their play was grinding LRs (they play them a lot. A LOT.). Which, more power to them. Some say/think that while the zombie node grinding contributed to our overall points, the times you grinded one and didn't get a reward (aka after the first 4 times, when you'd gotten all the iso and iso) did not contribute points towards the Top 10 Grinder competition as the reward drop triggered the points going into individual account tracking.

When the challenge started, around day 4, I became convinced that this top 10 point-getter thing was stupid because you could never know who was where, you could only play the game and any time spent extra was possibly a waste as long as we were sort of on track to get everything. So basically it was a way to make people who already play the game a lot get something extra, and the people who can play the most already have the biggest rosters. etc. Basically it only encouraged people who are already perhaps a bit over-engaged to continue to be such and risk burnout.

After the second week it appeared that you could only win once, so I decided to spend some extra time grinding zombie nodes in week 3 to see what happened. Then some of the people who'd won before repeated and I was a mix of amused and annoyed.

The fourth week I did grind a lot, wondering if I would somehow get high enough to get into the T10 but mostly trying to help the community win the challenge. And I think we got more repeat winners in this top 10 thing.

There are like 45000 players for this game and probably a good 3000ish who try hard among the top 250 alliances. It seems like they could have implemented a rule that you could only be a Top 10 player once which would have made it more interesting in some ways. Or maybe some baseline point total could have put you into a drawing which had 10 winners each week to make it a way to spread some rewards among people who don't have 550 rosters.

So.....it seems like the back end stuff wasn't working the way you might have thought it did and hence the game you thought you were playing wasn't the one you were playing if the fact is that it required reward drops to be a winner of the Grinder NoLife reward competition.

In the end I come back around to the idea that the Top 10 GRINDers competition was not a good thing.

Final note....I believe that when the game had the "Get 2NC to a 5, be one of the first 100 people, and you get cool stuff" competition, they were under the table giving out reduced rewards to people who did it but weren't one of the first 100 folks. Just saying.

I get this is just a silly match-3 game with people in tights in it but still they could do things a little better.
