I think it really depends on:

    1. Which ones did you do - do you have them all? some of them? at least the good ones?
    2. Which ones are boosted a specific week
    3. what your expectation is as far as PVP performance/goals
    4. What slice you're playing in
    5. Probably something else I'm not considering

Like if your goal is the first CP and 12 wins, I'd say do whatever you want. Probably true up through 800 in basically all slices. If you're playing in a low score slice you might get frustrated with the teams you see if you're going for 1000 and you have only say, Widow and Storm to use that week, even at 550 and boosted, if the natural 5s are better.

Whether it's worth trading in the various pulls and the HP from putting covers on the characters who you can plow through a lot of PVE with....I suppose it's each player's call.

For @slidecage based on his comments I assume he wouldn't really care if all his 1s were 550s unless he's planning to go for 1200 in PVP in slice 2 or something.

672 Widow and Storm will absolutely smoke the unboosted meta guys, though. 550 vs 550 won't be as lopsided, but you should still win.

Edit: disclaimer -- if you don't have supports and the other guy does, that does change the calculus a bit. I still think it's doable.

Remember too, that the 1* get boosted like every 2-3 weeks. I really wouldn't hesitate to 550 any of them.

The main value is that you get to pretty much immediately advance your 2|4 to 5 star once you get the main to 370. Because the levels convert to levels (as opposed to covers,) combining Max/Max only makes sense at that character's "native" tier -- after that you put one extra level to get the LT (worth it,) but otherwise do Max/Min.

Hi, could you explain this, please? I thought Max/Max was always recommended (in as much as you are able to) because you are doubling up the rewards you get and the only downside is that you get to have the higher ascended tier version much later.

The only reason I would see a downside is if levels converted to covers, (so you'd need three levels of ascended 2* to get a level of ascended 3*, costing you a total of 6 actual covers, for example), but as per your post, that's not the case.

Not always recommended ... not by me anyway. But who cares about that? :D

But nor would I recommend the approach the approach described by Grim.

Ascension is so much fun, there's so many right ways to do it!

I push mine as soon as can . I might be missing out on rewards but at least I'm working a more powerful person sooner

Example. If I have.a 4 star max at 370 get another 4 star with 13 covers it will take me months if not years to get that second 4 star to 370

What I do is take the 370 with the 13 cover 4 star. This will make them s 5 star with more HP power and the few covers I do earn will make my 5 star stronger what I will use now. Instead of sitting on a 370 and a 13 cover I will never use

Also if you merger as soon as you get a max rank with 13 covers it opens up a slot so your not using 2 slots. Damn you ares taking up 8 slots lol ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've been buying these (even the ones I've already got a spare 450 of) because I keep thinking they're going to stop selling them eventually. It's too good of a deal -- if you're spending real money on anything in this game, these are among the best value you can get.
