Going for max-max gets you max rewards but if you want to use the characters at higher tiers sooner, and convert their covers into higher tier rewards sooner, then speeding through the 1-2 and 1-3, and 2-3 tiers via early ascension is highly recommended, by me.

The 2s especially - we keep getting more of them which dilutes the pool, and you can't favorite them, so effectively you need to collect 23% more generic 2* covers to achieve the same increase in levels today than you did before they added NC, Electro and Iron Patriot.

One might consider dilution to be inflation in terms of the cost when looking at a specific 2 you were trying to increase, as well as the broad increase in level and power and tier you probably want from your 2*s since what else are you doing with them? Other than farming them, maybe, but even that now takes 23% more covers and time than it did before Feb '24.

The only time I can see buying a lvl 166 1>3 for 1,000HP would be if I had an existing 3* copy nearing maxchamp, no other lower copies, and didn't want to start over at lvl 1. If that were the case, buying the lvl 166 makes for a quick max+min ascension to the 4* tier, where the endgame rewards start.

Other than that ... no idea why you would go in for these. Doesn't take that long to build one up, and it would get expensive if one started buying these habitually for all eights 1*s !

Do you have any hoarded tokens of elite/heroic etc. Because once ascended she will be a reward factory at 5 star level.

Even if not, it sounds like it will be for you since you would otherwise need hundreds of tokens for another 2 star widow.

I meant if you don't buy this offer you'll need to roster another 2 star Widow and bring her up to 270 by scratch (going through the 3 star level and the extra copies that involves). Hence it seems like a great deal for you to save doing all that even if you don't have hoarded tokens.

I wouldn’t buy a second copy of a 1-5, myself, until my first one was already 550 or very close.

Even then I might not. Sorta depends on who it is and where my lower ones were.

Me too, I did not buy my would be second juggs or would be my second widow. I plan to normal ascend those 1star already at 5star. This is my preference. but imo this still one of the best deals in the game, if not the best.

Is it true if you get two 550 it really screws up your pvp. Right now juggie 550. Venom 535 unpumped few 5 stars around 496

Also main reason to keep buying is if you got tons of basic tokens. Very cheap hp .. I had 3500 now down to 1700. So I highly doubt that would even get the 2nd widow anywhere

Your MMR (matchmaking) is approx based on the top 6 characters in your roster. If you double your 550s then you'll see more teams of 2 550s in pvp. Right now you probably mostly see 1.

However.....the top end of the rosters are not all THAT big of a group in the game so you will probably already see a lot of double 550s in your queues. I haven't even hit 550 (top 2 are 504 and 501) and now I'm seeing lots of 550s already.

Anyway if you are playing a lot of PVP you might want to wait to push a second one to 550, but I assume the 535 you already have is already putting you in the 550 MMR or very close.

If you aren't really trying hard in PVP then I honestly wouldn't worry about it, but I would also be thinking about how or when to hoard/unhoard for a good group of natural 5s that can compete in the 550 range. Looking at Anniversary for example and the metas that will be available.

Someone around here 550d only the 1* and is doing fine in PvP. The matchmaking impact is kind of overstated, plus the 1* are actually pretty powerful. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I think it really depends on:

1. Which ones did you do - do you have them all? some of them? at least the good ones?
2. Which ones are boosted a specific week
3. what your expectation is as far as PVP performance/goals
4. What slice you're playing in
5. Probably something else I'm not considering

Like if your goal is the first CP and 12 wins, I'd say do whatever you want. Probably true up through 800 in basically all slices. If you're playing in a low score slice you might get frustrated with the teams you see if you're going for 1000 and you have only say, Widow and Storm to use that week, even at 550 and boosted, if the natural 5s are better.

Whether it's worth trading in the various pulls and the HP from putting covers on the characters who you can plow through a lot of PVE with....I suppose it's each player's call.

For @slidecage based on his comments I assume he wouldn't really care if all his 1s were 550s unless he's planning to go for 1200 in PVP in slice 2 or something.
