Are you willing to ROSTER Spider Man India?

I have mixed feelings, have everyone on board already, none maxed, but most with 13 covers at least (except some 5), but....... with these new releases I feel like issuing a Boycott against these characters
Even more, most of the new 3/4 releases have been mostly useless, even, some of the 5* are straight to the trashcan.
Any opinions????

    I roster them all. Some of the less fun ones are just reward factories but all of them get you something.

    I will roster him but will only use when required same as the majority of my roster , too many spiders for my liking, I was never that big a fan of Spider-Man, loved the spiderverse movie haven’t seen the 2nd one yet but desperately want to

    The recent batch of releases have not interested me at all, no idea who bong is, 2 more carter variants no thanks and haven’t used the miles variants either

    I’m guessing that the next releases are going to be based around the marvel’s movie ??

    I am definitely rostering him but then I have all 4* champed apart from Peni (fully covered waiting on iso) and the good Dr. Bong so I don't see any reason to break the chain on this one.

    Good bet on 5/3 Monica Rambeau - MCU version and maybe Photon/Spectrum (depending on what she is called in The Marvels I guess). Now Monica should be absolutely OP because her powers are literally ridiculous, especially during her 80's Avengers hey day but I guess we wait and see. I am excited if we can get her in her original costume - then I only need Hercules and Starfox (possibly problematic I guess) for a Roger Stern era Avengers team!

    I missed where you said what your issue is with the character though.

    Could assume you don't want to see another spider character but I don't like assuming things.

    And did I miss where they released info on the character? Just wondering why you assume he'll be useless.

    I despise oscorp spiderman because I don't like what his passives do to the board. But I rostered and champed him. I just don't use him. I choose to skip events that require him.

    Anyway, you have options, I'm just not understanding boycotting the game over this character.

    Lolz. OK, rage into the hurricane.

    Every 2 weeks, there devs release something. That something excites some and leaves others scratching their head.

    Apparently SM:I caused quite a stir after the release of the movie, AtSV. The character is 18yrs old, has been in print and in video games, but this was his first mass media exposure, and on the Big Screen.

    I had never heard of the character. Marvel has THOUSANDS of characters, and, even after 40+ yrs of fandom exploring 80+ yrs of material, I'm only familiar with so much. The odds are that any given character isn't going to be exciting to me or even something I know anything about.

    When the latter happens, as it just did with SM:I, I could play into stereotype and yell at a cloud, OR take it as an opportunity to learn MORE about what I supposedly love... comics.

    I DO hope his art doesn't suck. C'mon devs, do right by this one!

    Most characters sit on the bench, but everyone gets rostered and champed.. when there is sufficient ISO.

    Spider-Man India is simply a reimagination of Peter Parker as if he was Indian. He lives with his Aunt Maya and Uncle Bhim, is a shy high school student and is friends with the wonderfully named Meera Jain. He really is no different to the numerous parody/homage characters in Marvel's library of heroes. Hyperion, Gladiator or a 5* Sentry are blatant rip offs of DC characters but I bet nobody would be boycotting them.

    2023 has been the year of Spider and yes it is getting a little tiring but SM:I is a legit Marvel character that has been around for going on 20 years, Better him than Spidercide or something equally terrible from the Clone Saga!

    It is weird though that we have gone so long with _so _many Spider characters and I honestly don't recall there being a single meta one, never mind an actual Spider meta - you'd think for popularity or just by random chance one would actually hit the mark, but I suppose the very concept of web tiles makes them slow and unreliable.
    That said, 5* ascended 1* Spider-Man is good simple fun when buffed, and I hope that some-day 5* ascended Spider-Man 2099 will be pretty powerful.

    BSSM was at least meta-adjecent for a little while right after Gritty became the meta. And of course, Chasm. . .

    Some seemingly useless chars can make fun combinations, like Gorr, 4* Human Torch and Abigail Brand (I call it the repeating mayhem).
    The problem is, that in nearly all aspects of the game, you want to go for the fastest team, making many actually interesting chars worthless.
    Back in the old days when there was still sometimes the old gauntlet, you could use fun combos since no time pressure was given.

    @Chrynos1989 there are plans but that's something we'll most likely be visiting in the second half of next year.

    Why on earth would someone not roster any character?

    Like I guess if you find someone offensive personally (would some players object to Red Skull's Nazi past? I don't know, I wouldn't think about it that way, but I guess I wouldn't blame someone else) or if you're so constrained on resources that you have to make choices about who to roster...but otherwise?

    Of course. Need every character so I can complete the required pve nodes. If I don't have the character I can't compete to my best abilities thus missing out on very important placement rewards. I screw myself out of my usual t10(scl9) enough on my own poor time management, bad board, etc. No reason for starting 7 clears down from everyone else.

    After playing Spiderman 2 on PS5 I was hoping for a 5 star Kraven release or a 5 star Venom.
