We're back to square one: who is responsible for your irresponsible spend of money? It's not rocket science, the most trivial research tells you it's ill-advised, and it is that way for 3-4 months now. And "improvements" go in the other direction.
As long as people support bad things with their money no wonder they proliferate and stay that way.0 -

We all understand your frustration. ALL of us have been at the level at one time or another.
But HOW you express that frustration, is HOW you will be perceived.

This is BY FAR the most effective thing you (or any of us) could do to effect change. That's business.
You are certainly not entitled to those covers. None of us signed a contract that gave us the "right" to any type of compensation because we don't like the direction they're taking the game or for technical issues.
This is NOT a premium game. It is a free game with an option to spend money, which you (and I) have made the choice to avail ourselves of. It costs nothing to max a character, or I should say you can choose to spend nothing, or $10, or $50, or hundreds. Essentially your complaint is that you want to spend $0 instead of $10 for your Sentry cover, which is a strange complaint considering that they ended up doing that ANYWAY within the event.
You're right, it's not a premium. It's a free to play game. Free players are entitled to nothing beyond being able to play, as long as the devs deem fit. However, the devs also need to make money, and that's where the premium content comes into play. For a game, the prices here are astronomically high. At these prices, it very much can be considered a premium service, with all the expectations that entails.
We SPEND time (to help them reach their AARDPAU goals) or money, and we expect to be rewarded for those expenditures, and some basic customer service. It's not just this. It's also their general level of support, even when you throw money at them. It's nonexistent. You're entitled to feel differently, and I'm entitled to find a more rewarding way to spend my time and money if I feel that this game is going nowhere and that they don't care about me as a customer. I'll wait to see how they handle my support request before I decide whether or not to keep playing. TBH, the red sentry I don't care as much about beyond the fact that I would've earned it had it not been for the server errors. But that achievable Daken reward was my primary motivation for grinding hard, regardless of whether or not I made top 20.
You say you've played long enough to have perspective on this. I've played long enough to expect the company to have made changes a long time ago, and start listening to customers in a serious way. I'm still waiting, but I'm not sure how much longer I'm willing to wait. Sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and move onto something better. Anyway, I'm done posting on this topic for now, but I will update if they ever respond to my support ticket and do anything.0 -

Hey, looks like the issues are back again, in some form. My score is bouncing up and down with nothing happening, and with inconsistent displays.

Ok...crew of D3.... we had yet another issue today. Servers got lagged, leaderboards not registering correctly, and people took advantage of it. Some teams sub 85 level 2*'s.
I'm still ok, but the only way I could, or Beee, was for both of us to jump over 1300. Otherwise, we were originally both shielded in the 1100 point range. But 85 teams were jumping into the top ten as they could see shielded teams for high points.
Now, there are people over 1500 points, and some over 1400 in Starfall. Again, I seem to be fine now, but I know many others, including some in my alliance and brackets, are not.
My concern is, things like this are really screwing some people's placement in S2 and throwing scores all out of whack. What can be done to prevent these issues from continuing to happen?0 -
so it looks like this post was a preemptive sorry for the **** storm that has been Fresh Cut and starfall, people already at 1300 in starfall lol. I cant find an opponent worth more than 10 points in fresh cut and im only at 902.
BUY BETTER SERVERS!!!! no amount of increasing efficiency is going to solve your problems at this point0 -

I'm still pretty sore about losing that Daken cover.
The CS guy responded to my ticket with the "sorry, client-server lag, you were hit for those points before shielding, your final score is technically correct, we can't compensate you," and fair enough, but this wasn't a lag of 2 or 3 minutes, it was a full half hour of showing me the "wrong" score and making me think I had a good score.
Earlier you mentioned client chat as something "nonessential" that isn't a priority when the server is having trouble. What about client-side score display? Because I think that showing the players their accurate score in as close to real-time as possible, should be one of the highest priorities, possibly even more important than getting the game itself running!0 -
I wonder if the server overload/issue is caused by the seasons competition. If that's the main cause just reduce the total # days in Season 2, don't go straight into Season 3, and make sure the servers can handle the load.0

Thing is, if you look closely at the reasons why Alliances and Seasons were created, they are easy to understand :
PvE is popular because it can bring all the new covers (PvPs bring you additional ones). That's why PvE was not included in the Season system.
If some of us would calculate exactly in PvP events so as to perform, they would realize they spend way more than the 1250 HP is required to get the additional cover they need.
The Season system was created to increase revenues from the PvP events, and in Season 1, it worked perfectly.
Some guys begin to realize what is going on, and that's why most of the Season 1 Top teams are going down in ranking. What's the use of investing so much ISO (boosts) and HP (shields) to get close to nothing.
The prizing structure from Top 1 to Top 100 is not significant enough to justify such a time and money investment.
Most of the guys who are Top 100 do not need the 2* covers included in the Heroic Packs, so it's just ISO.
If you play a lot, you can earn 10K to 15K ISO per day (LR and all other events). So, do you need to put that much effort to get 3000K ISO after one month of tidious work ? Certainly not.
So, yes, the compensation is clearly not enough in regards to the money invested by some is some tournaments.
And yes, I keep on thinking PvE may need some more investment to get the first 3 colour covers from the new characters, and if it was not to get exclusive Nick Fury cover and interact with some guys (which I could do on the forum also), I would not need an Alliance right now. Because apart from Nick Fury, Alliance has become useless.
The CEO of D3P's article really enlightened me about the motivations of the company to get the $1/day/player. And all that happened in the game lately reinforces what I was assuming...
I keep on playing very actively, but not for the same reasons. And it seems I am not the only one to have understood that apparently.0 -
I'm surprised at how many of you are OK with this compensation with how upset many have been lately.
I was on a US Airways flight. A woman passed out on the plane, so we made an emergency landing. A lot of people weren't able to make their connections when we made it to Philadelphia. US Airways put all of us who didn't make it up in a Hilton and gave us food vouchers, even though this delay was not their fault at all.
I will most likely never fly another airline again (I hope their merger with American doesn't change much). What D3 is giving us barely amounts to half a food voucher. Also, considering the fact that giving out this 2,000 ISO and 100 HP won't cost D3 a dime...you can't even buy 100 HP because the minimum purchase you can make is $1.99 for 200 HP. We are in an event now where plenty of ISO & HP are available, maybe this is why I'm like "meh"
Proper compensation? Heck, I don't know. Too bad they don't have any 3-star recruit tokens. I'd gladly accept one or two of those and discard the HP & ISO.0
