That is why he said almost.0 -
More than the ISO and UP, I am glad they have listen to constructive feedback and decided to extend a gesture of goodwill.
That will help in restoring customer confidence0 -
A step in the right direction. Thank you for showing a sign that you care for your player base. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the future course you take regarding how you treat your customers.0

I wont get greedy and ask for 150 HP to shield for 8 hours
Dev team, all you ever needed to do was tell us "oops; yeah the sheep exploded, the hamsters died, etc. etc. We know there's a problem and we're fixing it."
For a lot of people, the lack of communication was more offensive and a bigger issue than the actual glitches.
In closing, thanks for the gifts! Somebody gets a level out of this probably!0 -
Great, thanks!0

We understand that playing on your own schedule and having to worry about whether servers will be fully functional at that time is definitely substandard. We are actively working on that situation and are putting full resources into making sure that the game is available to play for all users.
In the meantime, we have decided that as a result of the recent server issues that we will provide a bit of compensation for the player base. It was deemed that simply extending the rewards structure for more users like we did with Heroic Chapter 4 wouldn’t work so well since many users affected wouldn’t be in brackets that would gain much from it. It would also mean that players who were less affected (and thus likely with higher points) would gain more from this than others who may well have been hit more. Which naturally doesn’t help balance the situation much at all.
We have settled on giving out a blanket gifting of 2000 Iso-8 and 100 Hero Points to all users that have been playing the game since 5/9/2014. These rewards will be rolling out slowly to all users over the next couple of days. Since it is a blanket reward to every user in the user-base past a certain date, it will take a while for individual rewards to be sent out. So if you don’t see a reward right away it doesn’t mean it’s not coming, it’s just that the rewards server hasn’t churned through the hundreds of thousands of users in the queue before it reached a given entry.
Hi, that's a nice start. However, I was significantly affected by the server issues, and don't feel that's proper compensation for me personally. I was initially rank 20 or 30 after the first sub, but dropped substantially when rubber banding was disabled after that. I looked at the reward structure and rankings for my bracket, and saw if I grinded hard I would be in the running for top 20 and get a Daken cover to boot. As a result of the server issues the final morning of the event, I effectively missed a full refresh cycle which kicked me out of the running for top 20 (I was rank 25 the night before and lost something like 10 spots as a result of the server issues), and additionally made it impossible for me to reach the Daken progression reward. I ended up with 40k+ points, but not enough grindable nodes left to be able to reach 45k.
So for me personally, 2000 ISO and 100 HP is a slap in the face for losing both a Daken and Sentry cover (2500 HP equivalent) as a result of those issues. I grinded a lot harder than I would've otherwise. So the extended server outage basically trivialized the time I spent grinding to get my ranking up there. I grinded hard to earn those covers, and now I feel like I put a huge amount of extra effort for nothing. I did send a support request, but have yet to hear anything back, and based on past experience, am not hopeful they'll actually do anything for me.
This is a nice gesture to the player-base in general, but is pretty much meaningless to anyone who was adversely affected by it in a major way. I'd like my Daken and Sentry cover that I grinded so hard for.0 -
After completely missing a playthrough before DC and Hell's Kitchen ended I finished just outside the top 20 on the main and just shy of the 45000 Daken mark. The two 3* I missed out on would cost 2500 HP.
I appreciate the ISO and 100 HP, but I can't say I'm jumping for joy at the losing out on the remaining 2400HP.0 -
While the compensation of ISO and HP is most welcome (thanks IceIX and dev team), I'm most happy just to see some communication that you're aware of the issues we've had (at least relating to the servers). This is definitely a step in the right direction and I hope D3 keeps this up in the future0

Decent-ish compensation for most and good communication. Well done all.0

I feel your pain, I really do but I do think you are demanding a bit much and to be frank being ungrateful for what is a very nice compensation gesture on the part of the devs.
Any one of us could claim that IF we had been able to grind harder during the outages we could have gained more covers. The problem is they dont know who would have or could have done that so they cant be expected to compensate for those possibilities.
And hey, if you only dropped to around rank 35 then you still got more sentry covers than i managed after the first outage left me unable to place higher than an OBW cover!
Like i said I do understand where you are coming from and I mean no offense but I feel this is a reasonable offer as an apology and i accept it wholeheartedly in the spirit it is offered.0 -
I was wondering if someone would tell how small the compensation is compared to what can be invested in a tournament like this (Health Packs mostly, and sometimes Boosts).
I would not say it is a slap in the face, but it is nothing compared to the loss.
I made some calculation once on all that I spent on a PvE (because of the server outage and my points lost). The result was several thousands HP and even more in ISO.
Considering the amount of HP and ISO that are needed to level a character, they could have given more.
If they wanted to "compensate the loss", they would only have to release a new character.
That's a first step, and there will be probably more in the future because as I see things (the high number of people complaining, giving up and Top Alliances recruiting all the time) it will take more than 2000 ISO and 100 HP to stop guys from leaving.
With phone apps (as was previously said), success and failure can be lightning fast.
I see little innovation lately in the game. I am just wondering what could be our motivation for placing better than Top 100 in a Season (as an Alliance I mean) ??? As for personal rankings, Heroic Packs are ****, they are full of 2* characters which we already are flooded by playing a lot.
Some logics : if you rank Top 50 let's say, it means you play a lot. If you play a lot, you have plenty of 2* characters.
So, D3P, either you release more 2* and 1* and organize fun tournaments with 2* and 1* only (why not, it's always fun to play with different characters than ALWAYS LT, OBW and the most powerful ones) so that you can give out interesting prizing, or you try to make sure this game keeps on being fun to play without us spending fortunes in it. This is an electronic game and NOTHING (so far) can justify you expect us to invest $30 a month (since this is the goal of your CEO). Many of us spend way more for it, and this is ABNORMAL.
Trying to milk the cow this way IS a slap in the face.0 -

With all due respect, if you only got an OBW cover, I seriously doubt you grinded anywhere near as hard as I did this PvP. I could have taken it a LOT easier if I knew there'd be one less refresh, and just settled for top 100. I calculated how much I needed to grind and played accordingly. The server outage straight up screwed me. I don't think I'm asking too much here. I'm asking for basic customer service. If that's too much for them to handle, perhaps I should seek another way to spend my leisure time (and money).0 -

Considering you didn't reach the 45k needed for the Daken reward but still finished inside the top 50, whereas I scored higher than you but still finished outside the top 100, I think you should be grateful you got the rewards you did. Yes, it's incredibly annoying when something out of your control screws you over and I sympathize with that, but the fact remains that D3 didn't intend for this outage to happen. They've acknowledged their mistakes, they're putting plans in place to stop it happening again, and they are giving a token reward to all players as way of compensation. That actually is beyond basic customer service. You don't think so because you feel you've missed out, but that's your problem, not theirs.0
