Four more levels on Apocalypse for me, making him 490. Gotta love a chubby Apocalypse  ;)
Two levels on Kitty & one on Strange. Not too shabby, I reckon  B)

nah, that's not the games or gamers fault, that's a global problem.
    Oh yes. Most definitely.

When I was doing the survey just prior to the what if? release I knew that was actually the fan store and I voted for apoc.
Right now my ideal fan store would be apocalypse , SW and Shang-chi.
Luckily it wasn't the case as I already wasted my hoard pulling for SC.

Do we REALLY want everyone running around with fat Piotr's and Wanda's? I can beat them, but PvP gets worse when it's just all them all the time. Maybe the "Fan" part of the "Fan Favorites" vault is them doing us a favor by NOT offering those two.

I’ve always wondered how they come to do their fan favorites. What if instead of three most popular, they do the most popular by tier.

Strange- Could be the most popular for 3* players/casuals, because 3* Strange is the best character at that tier and the mechanics are so similar to the 5*.
Kitty- Could be the most popular for 4* players/transitioners, because many rely on Polaris teams to punch up/clear fast, and Kitty is a great partner for the best 4* in the game.
Apocalypse- Could be the most popular for 5* players/whales, because many already have fat Okoyes and so are looking to fatten Apoc who can arguably clear faster and is more dangerous on defense than a similar level Okoye.
I think it’d be interesting if they went top 1 for each tier which is why we see the spread we do. Give something to everyone. Unfortunately not enough for me to want to pull here.

How would they get information about a player's tier from the survey? I don't think they ask for that.

Anyway, I was pleased with my coverage from this store. I used up my hoard of ~1100 CP.
Apoc went from 2/3/3 to 3/5/5
Kitty went from 2/1/2 to 3/3/2
Dr. Strange went from 1/1/1 to 2/2/1

With Apoc ready to champ I'll avoid pulling any more from this store (not that I have any CP left) and I guess I'll avoid pulling from any future stores he's in.

I like this thought. I was also considering if they picked Strange because, though he might be a bad 5*, he has good synergy with Apocalypse against goons, though I’m not entirely sure how it plays at SCL10. Better with Okoye, but like you said, most whales and long-time hoarders have her at 550. This seems to be a store built for 5* transition.

Every survey you click from in-game has a unique id tied to your account. That's how they know which tier you are in.

Got a yellow Kitty cover. Not bad at all. I wish there was BRB in place of Strange tho. Strange is like whatever to me now, gone are the days when I relied on 3* Strange's passive at 5 covers to help me out against goons. I've fully embraced the Polaris meta long ago.

PS. Can someone tell me if Kate Pryde's champion rewards do include covers/shards for Kitty?

Kate Pryde feeds Yellowjacket while Emma Frost gives shards/covers for Kitty Pryde.

Yay Yellowjacket. All my efforts on Kate will be ultimately wasted  :(

    Well thank you.

Everyone's perception of the FF vault will (naturally) be dependent on where they are in the game, the state of their roster and what their next goal was/is.

As someone who had just 2 4's left to roster (now 3 with Blob), and only about 12 5's rostered with minimal coverage, there was never really going to be a bad FF store for me.  My current goal is to get those last 4's and roster 5's to unlock essential nodes in PVE.

I saved enough CP for 50 pulls, used 32 pulls to get Kitty 0/1/1, Apoc 0/0/3 and Strange 2/0/0 and stopped there. Blowing the rest on FF was not going to make a great change to the coverage on these and I had achieved my FF goal which was to roster all the 5's.  So I spent 200 of the remaining CP in Classics and picked up a Storm, so that's another 5 rostered.  Along with rostering Devil Dinosaur during the event, I'm happy with my first taste of a MPQ anniversary.
Yeah, I would have liked to see something like a custom 5* store that each player could make because I care more about getting more covers for characters that don't have feeders than putting more levels on characters that I already have champed.

I know they would never do it but instead of a 5* cover what if instead the 1:7 chance was for 500 shards to apply to a 5* character of your choice?  I would absolutely go gangbusters in that type of store.  Heck, if they even went to odds of 1:10 I would probably still go gangbusters.  Probably wishful thinking but that would be pretty cool.

We should all want stuff like that!  The question is, how much more would you pay for it?  Would you unload on a store like that if it cost 30cp per pull?  50cp?  What if it each pull cost $5 in real money?

I think they do have opportunities to do stores like this, but there's absolutely no chance they cost 25cp.  Remember: the higher the chance of getting what you want, the more you pay.  It's an ironclad rule in games like this -- you always pay to reduce RNG.

Great question.  Not sure.  I would say 35 CP would be a good spot for me.  I imagine it reality it would be more like 50cp which would make sense from their standpoint but probably a bit too rich for me.

I would weigh the opportunity cost against a LL store.  On average, at least once a year there seem to be three really good 5* in LL.  Would it be worth it to forgo CP for those times to be guaranteed working on extra levels of someone else or champing someone not champed yet?  I honestly don't know.

I'm surprised they don't poll stuff like this -- right now people can pull for 3 5* for 25cp, all the 5* for 20cp, or buy a cover outright for 250/500CP.  That's a pretty big spread in terms of cost vs RNG!

It seems like there could be something in the middle, but they'd have to figure out how much people would be willing to pay for it.

    Using this: 1 CP = 100 HP

    500 shards = 167 pulls.

    167*25cp/(3*7)= 198.8 or 200 cp

    200cp = 20,000 hp

Alternatively, in shards store, these are the hp cost range for 500 classic 5* shards.

    Cheapest: 14000 hp or 140cp
    Most expensive: 24210hp or 242cp

Cheapest is defined as buying the first 20 shards only per rotation. The first 20 shards cost 560 hp. Multiply it by 25 and you get 14,000hp.

Most expensive is defined as buying the entire set of 20 shards per rotation. Add all together and you get 24210hp.

It costs 720cp to buy a cover of an unlocked power.

To conclude, 200 cp per pull of non-latest looks pretty right in the range of 140cp to 240cp. It doesn't matter what the "right" cp cost is to the players because they will make sure it cost as low as possible.

I’ve said before this is the last thing I want . I don’t want inmates running the asylum.  Otherwise 95% of the characters will never see the light of a vault and 95% of PvP will be mirror matches . The last thing I need is an online meta measuring contest . Don’t ever let players choose their offers or deals or vaults .

I think it helps to boil the numbers down a bit more for 5* covers:

    1) You can buy any color of any cover for 720 CP (assuming you have at least 1)
    2) In offers, you can occasionally buy one specific 5* cover of a specific color (not of your choosing) for 250 CP classics / 500 CP for latests
    3) For latests and special vaults, you can buy a 15% chance at one of 9 random covers for 25 CP, which equates to 25 / .15 = 166 CP per cover
    4) You can buy a 15% chance at one of 57 x 3 = 171 random covers for 20 CP, which equates to 20 / .15 = 133 CP per cover

You can start to see the "certainty" premium. I would say to keep the current "economy", a vault where you got 500 shards to apply to a 5* character of your choice would need to be slightly below 720 CP per cover, and probably a bit more if you could use it to get your "first" cover of that character. At 720 CP per cover, if we were keeping the same 15% pull rate, that vault should cost 720 * .15 = 108 per pull. Let's assume for the sake of argument it settles at 100--are people going to pull at that price?
