Class of 2021 PvP

I’m not really looking forward to being reminded of what life was like without Polaris, lol. 4* land looks like it will be a bit of a slog with all the counters that rely on her spamming specials. I have Dark Beast and Morbius champed. I can champ Kate Pride to 280 right now, though I may have to dip into the farm for the iso. She should play well with Beast. I guess 5* land will look like normal PvP without the boosted characters with 5witch and Colo55us everywhere. I have Knull at 1/4/1 at least.

Who are people seeing with Colossus/Wanda? Knull? Ronan? Odin? Shang Chi?

4* land looks fun. I'll put together a thematic team called All Hail the Tails consisting of Lizard, Loki-Gator and Scorpion.

I ran that 4* team but 5* MMR means it got stomped out.

I tried a bunch of options, and settled on Wanda/Magneto/Colossus so far. Haven’t seen too many of the current latest crop yet but it’s early in the event still.

It might work if you could hit those bots first. However, it's a novelty team. They have too many colours overlap.

On the 5* side, I'm seeing quite a number of Wanda/Colossus with Mantis or Knull.

Putting Mantis out there invites attack but offensively, you hope one of them get stunned passively. To add on, Mantis also has an infinite green stun. I'll probably stun Colossus infinitely first

Knull nibbles on your team and he helps to put even more charges on Wanda's repeater. He might have big health, but he nibbles. However, watch out for his purple active power. That's where serious damage can hit you.

There're other teams, but they aren't as commonly seen as the above two teams. As for the rest of the 5*, I have seen all at least once except for Ultron and Magneto.

I’m in Slice 1 running Magneto if you want to try your luck lol. Not saying it’s a great team or anything though. Us Wanda’s purple to add yellow to the board and he can hit deceptively hard eventually. 

It does seem that most 5* players I’m up against are rotating various third wheels between Wanda/a colossus.

I don't see your team but I have finally found Magneto in other teams. I'll probably see Ultron in next year Class of 2021 pvp.

Wanda/Colossus/Odin can be a pain. There are a lot of fortification and healing going on. Pesky Odin keeps jumping in, so I decided to put him in front for the rest of the match. It took quite some time but I turned on animation. So, that added to the length of the match.

It's a shame you can't bring a Heimdall or Shuri with you up against Odin in this event, because opponent Odin is the best ally for those two characters. You just whack him until all the fortifications you need fall out for free and then get to work. 

Ultron isn't yet in Latest, so I'm not that surprised we aren't seeing him. I am a little surprised I'm not coming across too many Shang-Chi users though. I guess it's still a little early for him as well.

So far, trading hits using the loaner Shang-Chi is surprisingly fun.

My shang is 4 3 5 (2) spread and about 90 shards from his final cover. So I will be using him this event . It's a shame we can't bring things like Vulture or IMHB or Riri to help battery him

This will be a skip from me. Colossus/Wanda are impossible to counter without your own Colossus/Wanda, so thanks for that devs. Any random chud who pulled from that LL store this year will reign supreme for an event, let them have their day.

I have been using Red Guardian Scorpion and Silk. Just going for lots of damage.

It's not necessary to use a mirror to counter Wanda/Colossus. I used Knull/Mantis/Beast to beat them. If there's a will, there's a way.

Boosted Santa Claus really helps col/Wanda on defense.

Thanks for the advice , I’ll try out my 10/13 Odin for a few rounds .

This is a rough one for me also, even with most of the available 5s champed. Really hangs a hat on characters being pre-nerfed to account for power boosters who are locked out of this event.

I have been getting a surprising amount of use out of Elsa, her red has been handy against YJ, Mags and Throg teams. Mostly it is Colossus/Switch but I have seen a fair few of the 4* on teams and some undercovered 5 teams.

Odin is a gem in this pvp, especially against Wanda. When you hit a cascade, Wanda's is going to hit you back that many times. Odin jumps in and take 1 damage.  The trick is probably to let Odin tank one or two colours. On top of that, his strike tiles and healing will help you.

It is never more obvious what a crutch Polaris is than when they take her away from me. I wish SM2099 was released this year.
