I can’t believe that I will see AA being use “competitively” in PVP!
And that’s the clue that the boost is too high. The games a mess when you don’t have a pair of boosted.
Before this, the game was a mess if you didn't have the meta 5*.  Good luck trying to fight Okoye/Hulk with Archangel and Ghost Rider.

What's the difference?  They just changed which characters are required.

This is a roundup of the top 1 common boosted 5* team for each week:

    Week 1: OML/PHX
    Week 2: GG/??
    Week 3: BB/Iceman
    Week 4: Panthos
    Week 5: DD/Gambit
    Week 6: Thor/Archangel

Any one of the other 3 Week 2 characters probably needs a boost: IM, CW Cap, Banner. I can't remember a dominant team with GG at all.

    Edit:
    Week 7: Okoye/JJ
    Week 8: Kitty/R4G or Kitty/BRB or Kitty/Loki
    Week 9: GED/Hela
    Week 10: Carbage/BRB
    Week 11: iHulk/Okoye
    Week 12: Apoc/Onslaught
    Week 13: DP/Adam Warlock
    Week 14: SW/Colossus

Okoye Week will most likely be Okoye/Hulk or Warlock (you just need a passive AOE trigger to take advantage of Okoye's mega damage boost).

I'm not sure what Hulk week will look like, but I think Okoye won't be best there (Hulk will tank over her).

Plus better color coverage. But the boost is big for sure

Even though JJ is a good character week 7 will just be Okoye.  In PVP you will just see Okoye SW or Okoye IHulk.  In PVE Okoye, IHulk, 3hanos.

    Boosted Thor is pretty crazy.

I used Archangel with him -- his stun was very useful and he only overlaps with Thor on green.  Make sure you set his black ability to 4, because at 5 covers the countdown tiles go to 5 turns.

It was nice having two different stuns in the Mystique event, to handle high level SW and Colossus teams.  Once you stun those guys they go down really fast.

You'll definitely want Archangel in the Karolina event to prevent her airborne shenanigans.

There really isn't any reason that new / meta 5*s should be getting a boost. I wish they would stick to boosting the older characters. This is welcomed because it gives people a chance to dust off those characters they never normally use. But does anyone really need an extra 100 levels on their champed apocalypse / BRB / okoye?

Absolutely not. Gonna be a bloodbath.

If they start skipping guys in the order everyone needs to move to DEFCON 18 nerf alert.

Well, they skipped Okoye.  Or, maybe they just redid the rotation?

Next week is Phoenix (again?), Killmonger, Magneto, and Storm.

Overall I enjoyed this week.  There were a good mix of options.  Having a stun char is really useful,  even against the hotness of Wanda collossus

Using the boosted 5* on hops was nice.  Yes they can be cracked consistently but not before a hopper get 3 matches off and reshield.

definitely people need to recalibrate how they play.  The health bump alone changes how long matches take which has implications for snipers, bakers and hoppers.  Interesting to see if there are 4K scores.

Archangel was significantly better than I remember him being, mostly due to that stun.  I think 5* stuns are just really, really good.  His black also came in handy against Beta Ray Bill a few times.

At last. Now it seems they add some variety to the buffeds. A real old classic, a middle classic and 2 moderns classics, skipping the order of release.
That it is buffing classics without favoring vet players. I really appreciate that, thanks.
Finally it seems the buffing will be curated.

Which I don’t know how I feel about that. New 5*s are basically a separate tier from old ones. Why use a 5* when you can use a 5.5*? I guess we’ll see how it plays out, but I imagine unless it’s a diamond in the rough like Thanos or Thor, older selects will ride the pine in favor of newness.

I think this week was the first where I used every single boosted 5* (all paired with Thor of course). Daken tanking and healing was great for climbs and killer against special tile teams. Robbie tanking and providing an excellent black was awesome. And of course Archangel was the real MVP with his awesome stun. I can’t express enough how much I’m loving this QOL change!!

I was fortunate to have OMD boosted for this round, I enjoyed PVP a little more because there were different opponents. I had to pay a little more attention.
I hope they continue to boost different 5* characters to give the game some switch ups. I get tired of PVP when it’s all iHulk and Kitty and BRB and Apocalypse.
I like the mix of some old, some new. As a long time player, my roster is full, but plenty of my 5* have low covers so the boost allows me to use them in PVE and vary the play up.
I had gotten pretty bored, this has renewed some of my interest.

I was also surprised by Daken, specifically in PvE as an anti-special-tile guy.  He was really effective against the rock guys and symbiotes.  His red drops a ton in strikes and the passive gets crazy fast.

He's another excellent example of a 5* who's not bad, but was just completely dead on arrival for whatever reason.  I don't think I had ever used him or seen him used before this week.
