Missing Information

A lot of these can be found in Q&A’s if you actually look. (For instance, I went through old Q&As to find some balance responses a few weeks ago for someone on Discord that would answer some of these questions.)
Others I find baffling —- like why would you ask the communications guy at D3Go! how long the IT people at Oktagon get to see paper cards? Like he’s gonna go down the hall from his office at one company on LA, California, USA to another in Rio, Brazil to check out the paper cards.
He’s always said he gives us info when he gets it. I wonder why no one believes him?
Just my player perspective 2 cents. Not really sure the point of this thread. Most of the info is here if you look. The rest of the questions just seem like we are bored. It would be more fun to speculate about M20 or something.0 -

It would be more fun to speculate about M20 or something.I'm sorry, could you please link the article where the devs explain why Angrath was nerfed, and why it was called a bug after they had said it was working as intended? Or the thread where they provided the official level up curve?Because I don't remember seeing those posts. They have mentioned their criteria for nerfing cards, but since they don't seem to be following it I'd like to see an updated list, or at least an explanation as to why certain cards can dodge the hammer. Also, the original post clearly said that these questions are for the devs. Brigby just happens to be the liaison between the dev team and the players, its why he (unfairly I admit) gets all the vitriol from the forums and why I'm posing the questions to him. If you know a member of the dev team (besides Diane who was introduced to us as being here for emergencies only and she almost never posts anyway) please let me know and I will start pinging them and giving Brigby a break.Since there hasn't been a Q&A in *checks notes* 5 months, Brigby is the only one here to pose questions to.I guess Oktagon is ignoring him as much as they're ignoring us, but maybe if we bug him enough he'll bug them enough to actually get some answers.I think this thread has a purpose as a way to collate some of the more pressing questions for the dev team. And if you want to speculate about M20, feel free to post in my thread here:5 -

They are also under no obligation to explain nerfs, buffs, etc, perhaps they are busy, perhaps they don’t want to.
I said most of these answers can be found. I don’t know if the Angrath info is in there. I am not looking. Not because I’m busy, because I don’t want to.
I’m being purposely over the top — but it’s a tone thing. As a reader, I find the tone of this thread to be pushy. Like I said, many of these questions have been answered and can be found with some research. Maybe first, the organizers, can organize someone to filter those out. Second, Brigby is a go-between. He has always brought information he is given, if he had it, he would bring it. But this is not his only job or his only board. Constantly tagging him is not going to get the information faster. All he can do is request if. No one at Oktagon is obliged to answer and he doesn’t have to explain that. In addition no one has to explain every single nerf just because you want them to.
Other games don’t work like this. Decisions are made and sometimes they are explained and sometimes they aren’t and players deal with it or they don’t.
However it has always been my experience if you want anything, making a request in a kind or at the very least professional manner takes you much further than the way this thread has been presented.
Again, my player perspective.

I challenge you to find a single one of my questions in the original post that have already been answered (besides the ones I crossed off). Seriously, just one. Because you say that "most of the answers can be found" but I can't find anything to substantiate that. I assume you have evidence to back up your claim.
As for the rest of what you said, you are technically correct. The devs don't have to explain anything to us.
However, that doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't ask them to. Especially when they directly contradict the communication that they have already given us like they have with Angrath. See:
https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/71807/angraths-third-ability-and-tokens/p2
As for the Q&A specifically, Oktagon's only obligation is their own word, since they promised to do monthly Q&A posts. If that doesn't mean anything to them so be it, but that's not right.
(I would link the original post referencing that but its super old now and hard to find. Sorry)
Now for the personal attack. I take pride in being a mostly neutral and respectful poster here. I try to see all sides of every issue and do take feedback into account when making new posts. Sometimes I get emotional and post stupid ****, but I try to avoid that. This post is framed as a way to collect pressing questions in one place to make them easier to answer, since even the Q&A threads get a bit eclectic when everyone posts a bunch of random questions there. And looking through the comments people have posted here, the only one I find rude or condescending is yours. Sure there are a lot of Brigby pings (mostly from me), but that isn't anything ridiculous or over the top for how the forums are and its just because (as I've said) he's the only point of contact for these types of questions. And he did say that he would ping the dev team with the questions and let us know what they said, but that was on July 8th. If he pings them as often as we ping him, I would hope that answers would come at some point (since, again, most of these will take ~10 min to answer)
But that's just my perspective.7 -
@bken1234 - I must admit your post seemed rather rude.
Firstly, since it seemed to imply, that I’m ignorant and lazy. Because the answer exist, but just I haven’t taken the time to go find them.
Secondly, it seemed like you were belittling my question about the design process, that happens with every new set. I wanted to know how long time the devs have to familiarise themselves with the cards in the next set, before they start designing the MTGPQ -version of the paper cards. Obviously, you think that is irrelevant, but that is not justification for your outburst.

My godson is 14 and has type 1 diabetes. Two weeks ago, I had to take him for back to school errands because his (single) dad had to work overtime on a Saturday. Before I picked him up, I reminded him to 1. Eat lunch and 2. Pack x, y and z in his "diabetes" bag because we would be gone for several hours. He did not do most of what I said.
Our afternoon began on a good note. This is his first year in high school. He has more freedom in supplies, he was having fun. But not being able to find some things combined with the sugar reactions in his body started to change his mood. His interactions with me grew short. His tone changed. He started to get mean. I told him to chill several times -- then I learned he skipped lunch. Then I learned the proper snacks weren't in his bag. Then he just became a jerk.
So I started mirroring his behavior -- and I did it for the next half hour until we made it Chipolte where I could get a proper meal into him and he could take his insulin.
After that we had a long talk about how sometimes things don't happen the way you want them to (the supplies he wanted not being there) and sometimes you don't always feel good on the inside (his sugar being out of control), but you still have to maintain control on the outside. I gave up my Saturday to take him school supply shopping. I was going to multiple stores to find him what he needed. I didn't deserve to be treated with demands and disrespect no matter how bad he felt on the inside or how frustrated he was.
I see this over and over here on the forum -- as a player and as a mod -- and so do other players and they've left the community because of it.
Brigby can't control the flow of information from Oktagon. They are another company. Those of us who have been here for a long time know this -- we saw it with HIbernum -- those who play or played Marvel also know this. He can only share what they give him.
Also he is one person. If you go back and read the tone of this thread. It started out ok, but the longer it goes on, the more demanding it gets. This it not a polite thread. There are answers to many of your questions in prior Q and As and maybe you just won't get answers to some.
We are not entitled to anything.
People in other games don't make demands like this.
I don't understand why we think we should be able to.
If you think that opinion is rude, fine -- but I think this constantly entitled way of thinking is rude. I think interrupting the developers who are fixing bugs and pushing out new sets so they can answer these questions is rude. I want a stable game and new content.
I am a player just like you guys and I have a right to this opinion and you don't have to agree with me, but I'm going to express it.
My mod mic isn't on anywhere in this thread.0 -

@bken1234 - something got lost in translation or your sugar level is also hitting rock bottom. Somehow you have misinterpreted my intentions and without bothering to verify anything have verbally assaulted me and other forum users in one post.
Sure, you are entitled to your opinion, and you can be annoyed at other users, but you are not allowed to be a jerk, at least on these forums, or so I have been told.
Now I ask you, if I flag your post, will you revert to being a moderator and handle a case you are a party or will someone else evaluate your behaviour?
Edit - and that is a question of procedure, not an accusation!1 -
@bken1234 I still don't see where your assertions are coming from.
Nothing in this thread is demanding, all I've been doing is asking for updates on the questions. Even if Brigby says "I've asked the team but they have not responded" that's perfectly fine. That's really all I expect.
But maybe next time Oktagon decides to make a change to something they'll remember that list of questions and explain their reasoning behind directly contradicting themselves. If one never asks for information, one will never get any.
Also, now I'll repeat myself to you. Please explain how you could possibly say that "many questions have been answered in prior Q&As" when not a single one of these questions has. (ok, fine, technically 1 has, as I've mentioned already). Also, please show me where any of us were mean to Brigby. We know he doesn't have information, but (again as I've said before) he's the only one we can ask. So ask him we do.
Sometimes I wonder if you even read these posts before going off against them.
I'm sorry your godson had a bad day, and made your day worse because of it. I'm sorry that you have to moderate a bunch of randos who don't always agree with you or speak nicely to you on the internet even when you're having a bad day. And I'm sorry all the fun people have left the forums and left the whiners instead.
But before you start insulting people, maybe put some more thought into it. I've been insulted a great many times by a great many people over my life, and it doesn't really bother me much anymore. But if you're going to come after my character, you better have some better facts or logic, and you have had neither throughout this entire thing.
Also, about your claim that "people in other games don't do this"
Yes, yes they do. I've been a member of a few different games' forums over the years, mostly also games with small dev teams and active communities. All of them either had the devs providing clear information with each new release, or they were frequently asked to do so. Now, the Magic community as a whole is more interested in the process behind the designs than most, but that's partially because paper Magic happens to be extremely transparent with their designs and we've become accustomed to that.9 -
I can assure you demands are made in almost every FTP game and platform. I don't see why just keeping up to date on what is going on is viewed as a bad thing?0
-
*Please keep all comments civil. Thank you!
Many of you on both sides of the discussion are right. Our team doesn't technically have to answer any questions if we don't want to, however we do try to answer them when we can, because we want to communicate and interact with our community. Are we always able to answer every single question though, whether it's immediately when asked or later on down the road? Probably not.
It's just the unfortunate truth that the busier our team gets with developing content for the game, especially when it comes to upcoming card sets, the less time they have to sit down and craft answers to even the simplest of questions. Our team is small, and while we'd love to be able to have the time to communicate every design decision like Wizards of the Coast is able to, we unfortunately lack the bandwidth to do that all the time.
In addition, some questions dive just a little too close to confidential topics (unrevealed content, for example), so we let those remain more as speculation (Not necessarily in this thread, but rather in general.) Other times the questions are less questions than they are design requests in question format; for those we kindly ask players submit them in the Suggestions & Feedback sub-forum.
You can see the effects of the team's current busy schedule in the lack of Q&A Sessions we've been able to fit in as of late. Part of that is because the team is certainly busy, and another part of it is because of my own level of availability to organize such an activity now. (Some of you know I've been picking up more and more Production duties, and I hope to provide more info on that soon.)
To answer your question though @Mburn7, the only update I have is in regards to the event time question, which you can find here: https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/comment/888627/#Comment_888627
