  • I am not going to quote it because the rep system is already hiding it but name calling is frowned upon.

Anyone know how many sub events there are? I'm trying to figure out how much to average to get the purple daken.

I'm also new here. I've noticed the points refreshing. When is the optimal time to play/start?

I saw the post about 5k per day. I prefer to know how many sub events, but I guess that isn't published.

Any help with the 2nd part?

Being a brand new event, there's really no way to know how many sub events there's going to be. It's not impossible to take a guess at it though.
I believe that the total event runs for 9.5 days, and this first sub was 1.5 days. That would give 6 total 1.5 day subs, with an extra 8 hours left over at the end. This seems like the most likely format, where those last 8 hours will be spent in the main tab on repeatable pins. I think it's highly unlikely to get 6 unique subs, but 3 subs repeated twice is a familiar format - so we've got Manhattan currently, followed by two different subs, then a repeat of Manhattan, etc. (This is actually pretty close to Thick as Thieves. I didn't actually hate that format.)

Someone smarter/more dedicated than I can probably shine more light on optimal times to play. For me, I tend to start a little after the first two hours - since I'm based in Sydney, Australia, most events start at 4 AM for me (3 AM now thanks to daylight savings) so I wake up at about 6 and get started while I'm having breakfast. I complete each pin once and then usually wait it out. For this event I assumed refresh timers of 8 hours, since the subs are relatively short. I did another clear about 12 hours ago and will do one last clear with 1-2 hours left in the sub. I probably should have been able to fit in an extra refresh, so I might have stuffed my timing for this one, but with a bit of perseverance I should be able to stay competitive (MPQ is like Tour de France, it's mostly a marathon/long haul effort, with only occasional sprints required).

While I think the post was a bit too abrasive, I do think that if player A plays consistently over 9 days and player B plays consistently over 8 (or fewer) days, then player A having an advantage over player B is not a crazy idea to have.

It seems even odder that if the one "missing" day is at the very beginning, it's perfectly fine. If the "missing" day is ANY other day, then it can be catastrophic.
That's a byproduct of the bracketing system. Despite it being PvE you are still competing with other people so you can't really play on your own terms if you want the 3* rewards

You must be in that magic part of Sydney where time moves faster cause I'm pretty sure they tick over at 2:00 for me icon_e_wink.gif

There's every possibility that I can't count hours properly. It must be 3AM -> 2AM thanks to DST? It doesn't really make it any less of an inconvenient time icon_e_smile.gif

As for this event, I did one last pass over each pin and ended a lot faster and with a lot more health than I expected, so I cleared the Daken required pins and few of the other high value ones to ~100 pts left. That put me just over 14000 points.
  • I feel like our sub could be mistaken for a lightning round top 10 eh WYP and Twysta? We got Kamahl and bloodwars and I think someone brought some lawn chairs. I'm not grinding sub 100 point nodes my full clear brought be to 4th i'm happy with that.

So some people are going to be really unhappy when they join tonight. There's only 568 people in my main bracket, which means that almost half of the people in it are going to miss a whole sub's worth of points

Yeah, it was 3 and dropped back to 2 when DST ended. It's not great but I can push myself to stay up a little longer when I'm only aiming for 2AM.

I was going to do something similar but ended up just grinding the essentials down to 1 each - although I did do the Sentry team up again just for the novelty - and ended up 7th with just over 13K.

Nice job in overtaking me EvilSonGoku. I had pulled into the Top 2 with ten minutes to go but lost it in the last minute.

So there's only one essential in the second sub?
Oh boy that'll be fun to have to grind non-essentials for points with _that_ scaling.

It looks like there are 2 locked nodes by it

    You're right, just noticed it.
That's what I get for getting up at 5.

So, I enter the main about 2 hours ago, after dinner out, and find I've been bracketed with beezer, Spoit, Lycra, pandaberry, kiddicarus, and like... 64 other forum heavies.

Devs: "People love veterancy-based bracketing for PVP, so let's do it for PVE! Yay!"
    Me: icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Also, my sub ranking was worse than my main ranking, which was amusing.

There does not seems to be any pins in main so to do this they have to change the graphic.

Did anyone else have the odd starting values of 94 Iso-8 Lab assault and and 304 for Deken Vs Yelena. Or is rubber banding off the main?

Best part? The bracket is still open!

So about half the people in it are starting 1 sub behind icon_rolleyes.gif
  • 3 Misfits, a S.H.I.E.L.D, a BackDoorBetty, a 5Deadly, an ActiveEvent and a partridge in a pear tree.

I believe the official answer is to grind until you hit 395's. My sources from Daken PvE are pretty convinced that's what D3 says.

This bracketing system is clearly more fair and balanced than the last one.

So exactly like Thick as Thieves then?
