Am I really gonna have to bang these out to 1 pters before I go to bed tonight?
(Nods head, looks longingly at Fabio, and resumes dreadfully boring chore known as PVE)0 -

I am ranked 760 out of 785. the problem? the leaders are up to 10k already in my bracket and there is only 10 hour left in the sub. Did I just get screwed by having a ton of guys who are gonna get an extra refresh than me?!?! This sucks!
I thought the same thing. I did one pass on all nodes and then played the essentials a couple times each. Got up to just over 10k and 3rd in main and sub.
It looks daunting but totally doable. I don't think that the bracket is as old as it seems.
Out of curiousity is your bracket leader "clobberintime"?0 -

edit: Also I just checked and my main bracket is still only at 973. If you just joined we're probably in the same bracket - fun!
ah yep. must be same bracket then! I'm guessing same sub too. bah.. I am already dreading 9 days of this...
Sitting in the dentists office waiting to get a piece of my head ripped out. Ill join pve after. Hopefully these partial brackets all fill up. Dont see why its so hard to make the game fair.0 -
Oh this scaling is nasty. Crossfire was somewhere around 50 during my first playthrough and now it's 100 already. By the end it'll probably be 150 or something
People are grinding really hard for this one, I don't get it. I fell into the high 300s since my last play-through and I'm 4k behind the leader. That'll require some serious grinding to catch up, even with rubberbanding.
What's going on? Could it be the changed placement in the Story tab that invites more people who'd normally stay away from competitive events to grind it out?0 -
ZenBrillig wrote:Rajjeq wrote:I mentioned this as a problem in another thread. The sharding for PVE sometimes means old brackets, which basically means there is almost no way to catch up. It's stupid, and it should be changed back to time entry. But stupid stuff that negatively impacts players doesn't get fixed.
It's only an issue if you try to game the system with a late entry.0 -
TheUnwiseOne wrote:Why is a dentist gonna remove part off your head? Your in the wrong place, leave now before it's too late.
Last wisdom tooth, its totally a part of my head otherwise it wouldn't have been there for so many years. Only took like 10 minutes no biggie.0 -

Well, most people don't know about scaling so it's a bit pointless to blame them *shrug*
Blergh. was going to do another full clear + the essential a few times, but it's no where near enough to catch up properly, I'm still 1k behind. All my nodes are down to 100 or less - I'd need to grind them all down to 1 to get even. Well, doesn't matter, this one isn't for me anyway, because of the time zone. Time to call it quits and go to bed.0 -

First sub is not even over and Crossfire is over lvl 100 here.
If this keeps up I might get scaled out of the event by the end.0 -
Rajjeq wrote:This is a phenomenally stupid statement. So everyone who is not available the exact day and time the event starts is "gaming the system"? Non-time-based brackets are bad because they mean if you are busy one day/night, you might have zero chance in the entire 9 day event. This isn't good because it is extremely unaccommodating to the playerbase.
Only if you're too dumb to understand it. The sub runs for 36 hours. It was possible to join after 22 hours and get a reasonable bracket. If you can't log in for one day of a day and a half event, and still expect to do well, then maybe your expectations are what's tinykittied up, not the game.0 -

Again, so are people not allowed to have a life with this game? Nobody is allowed to be busy for a day? The event lasts 10 days, and if you miss one of those for whatever reason and then cant place well for the remaining 9 days, then what? It's that persons fault? Not that the game changed the way brackets are entered? So you miss one day and suffer for the rest? yeah "great system"
Also, no need to be rude either. Mother get's cross when you call people names.0 -
Judging by the main, this looks like gateway nodes with a final 48 hours of rubber banding, repeatable nodes in the main bracket.
If you're looking for top two grind every sub. Top 20 will be up for grabs even if you mostly skip a sub or two.0 -
Anyone know how many events there are? I'm trying to figure out how much to average to get the purple daken.
I'm also new here. I've noticed the points refreshing. When is the optimal time to play/start?0 -
9 day event. 5000 points per day to hit the Daken cover.
Looks like D3 threw out a softball target for progression rewards.
Or else just dropped the 75,000 100,000 125,0000 and 150,000 rewards off and stopped at 45000 so the top reward is obtainable.0 -

Um, no, it's just this time the progression rewards are totally off but in the direction favorable for players, assuming the point trend keeps up.
Seriously, there's no mega conspiracy to keep progression unobtainable. People just tend to remember when it was horribly against the player and the last few events happen to be those. Nobody complained about the events where you got 3 3*s for simply playing (think the last iteration of The Hulk was like that). Trying to predict anything with rubberband is pretty much futile and we're overdue for a miscalculation that's favorable to players just due to sheer chance.0 -

I'm fairly certain that the relatively obtainable Purple Daken cover is the "Sorry" from demiurge in regards to all the recent snafu.
Edit: Of course, rather than just give out covers, this still requires that you don't break your concentration from the game too much.0 -

While I think the post was a bit too abrasive, I do think that if player A plays consistently over 9 days and player B plays consistently over 8 (or fewer) days, then player A having an advantage over player B is not a crazy idea to have.
It seems even odder that if the one "missing" day is at the very beginning, it's perfectly fine. If the "missing" day is ANY other day, then it can be catastrophic.0 -

Not the point i was trying to make. I was just saying that they have changed the way the brackets are entered. Whereas before You could wait a day and and then enter with others who had also done the same, now you can enter and be in a bracket where others are already thousands of points ahead, as has been reported by forum goers here. I don't see why they changed the way it works.0
