Hi Everyone,

Oktagon Games would like your help!

As some of you may know, there was an issue in The Dragon War where some players were able to earn more points than the maximum possible score. Since this is a PvP, Coalition event, we'd like to enlist the help of as many players as possible, so we can ensure the most accurate results.
The event is scheduled for Nov, 30th 8:00 PM (UTC) until Dec, 3rd 6:00 PM (UTC), and just like the Duel Decks Beta Tests, players will be able to keep all the rewards earned. Since this event is currently in the state of Beta, please keep in mind that some minor errors might occur, however we absolutely appreciate players' assistance in helping this event run smoothly in the future.

Thank You!

    Just for context :
This event will be run as a coalition event, correct @brigby?
Like, with coalition rankings and stuff?

Will there be another coalition event at the same time?

Yes. For those who do not wish to participate in The Dragon War beta test, Return of the God-Pharaoh will be run at the same time as an alternative option for them.

    @Brigby:

I will test, but why is it a 4 day event, when the problem is, that some player go beyond max. Progression.

You have to wait 4 days to see this happen.

So why no short event? One day maybe and in the end somebody occasionally go beyond. If not, make another one day.

    Isn't this the better way?

I'm not a developer, but my guess is that they want to replicate the exact details as it would be run normally. Any deviations from the regular settings may potentially skew the results.

So two coalition events running at the same time. Nice additional server test!
Thank you for the quick answer, now I can hide in my hole again and figure out what I'm going to do with it :)

Wait, how do you have a Beta coalition event?  What if members of the coalition are not in the Beta?  How will the coalition scoring work?

I forsee more bugs happening with that than the event itself

If I am following you correctly, you are worried about the over all coalition score?

    i.e.

    GP: 3 members

    AA: 6 members

    TP: 3 members

    XX: 1 member

because this is about personal scores going over what normally can be achieved which of course plays into the coalition score by default. Our end coalition score is competitively irrelevant when it is the end personal score that is the problem.

If this wasn't a beta test... then yes, your concerns are 100% valid ;)

Why run this event at the same time as another coalition event?

Could you please check the possibility of running the beta test during the week. I am sure players would be much more willing to play if the beta is not run at the same time as another coalition event.

I personally would not give 100% commitment to beta if it run concomitant to a coalition event

Eh, and I am sure many players want more stuff on the weekends.  Thanks for listening to those players. I know I'll gladly take another coalition event running concurrently if it gives me something to do on a Sunday.

I’m not pleased with a beta counting as a coalition event unless the points don’t count towards the all time score.

Especially considering the reason for the beta is to get to the bottom of players earning extra points.

Can you Confirm @Brigby that this beta is not being applied to existing coalition scores?

@Brigby can we get confirmation that everyone who applies for the Beta TDW gets in?

(from the link in the initial post)

    Rules:
    1) Every player that signs up, will be able to participate.

I still don't understand the difference between a Beta that accepts everyone that applies, is a coalition event, and lets us keep the rewards and just running the event normally.

But I'm not a programming or app development person, so whatever.

I believe at this moment the points would still apply to existing coalition scores, however the team is currently looking into whether or not they are able to disable that specifically for the beta event.

Another problem from this is players who don’t speak English and know to sign up for the beta. The game doesn’t convert to all languages — individual events are one thing, but a coalition being punished because one of their members didn’t understand that the beta is a required coalition event is another thing.

Especially since the inbox message doesn’t say « Coalition Points Count »

The other issue is RotGP is a 6 hour recharge event with no set end time. It’s a lot to ask of the player base to run 2 full coalition events at once. Maybe TDW beta could be moved to midweek and just called TDW?

*Update: The team has looked into the coalition points of The Dragon War - Beta Event, and I'm afraid they are unfortunately unable to prevent the points from being applied to existing coalition scores. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Then why not just make it a regular event?

The point of the beta event is to help Oktagon in identifying and resolving the Max Points issue players experienced in the past. Since it's a PvP, Coalition event, the more players that assist with this, the more accurate the results will be.

The reason why it's not a regular event is because of its beta state. Since this may cause more minor issues to occur than usual, we didn't want the general population to inadvertently experience this environment. We'd rather have players choose to assist us, and subsequently be fully aware of its beta state.

But whole coalitions don’t get to make that choice? In this case it would have been better to let coalition leaders opt their whole team in — so they can make sure their scores are protected — and also not run it at the same time as an event with 6 hour recharges.
