I saw the news of Stan Lee passing today while I was doing my dead pool's daily. I took a min to scroll though my roster and reflect on the rich history of stories and the amazing legacy he left. The man will be missed.

How do I tell my son? He's bedroom is full of Marvel stuff.1

Through all the heroes he helped create, Stan Lee has always been my hero.3

He is/was/always will be the "THE MAN"10 -
Very sad day. I think it is time for MPQ to have Stan Lee in game. I don’t know if it is a support, an IGN of a seed team, and actual Stan Lee character, an event, a node in a PVE node. Just feels like something should be in the game.18

So much of my childhood (and even parts of my adulthood) was centered around Marvel and all of this man's creations.
Couldn't agree more with what The rockett mentioned...time will tell.
RIP legend2 -
Very sad news, but what a life he lived and what joy he has given us...

What a full, interesting life this terrific man led -- an inspiration to me and no doubt many others. He had an imagination that roamed beyond this universe and created many more, yet was married almost 70 years to one person and gave charitably to help others. That's quality worthy of great admiration.
Thanks for everything and rest in peace.2 -
People can say what the will about the Silver Age of comics starting with the first appearance of Barry Allen in The Flash, but the truth is that it began with Fantastic Four #1. In a way, we're still in the Silver Age because what Stan Lee did with Marvel throughout the 60s and 70s is still the model Marvel, DC, and others follow today. Not only that, Stan made the reader feel as though they were a part of something special. Whether it was talking directly to the reader in the story through caption boxes, or Marvel's Bullpen Bulletins, or his ever-popular Stan Lee's Soapbox, Stan made us feel like we weren't just reading comics - we felt like we were a part of the Marvel experience.
Stan Lee also never stopped believing that comics could make the jump to television and movie screens. He was the driving force behind those awful made-for-television movies of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He kept producing Marvel properties until movie making technology finally caught up with what an artist could draw on the page. He is the founder and father of the current comic book explosion we have been experiencing since the first X-Men film. Whenever we saw one of Stan Lee's cameo's in a Marvel film, it felt right. Never forced. Of course Stan should be in the movie - it wouldn't have existed without him. Those cameo's will be greatly missed, as will Stan's enthusiastic and positive personality.
I could go on and on about how important Stan Lee was to me as a child, a teenager, and now as an adult; about how many smiles he was responsible for putting on my face; about how he triggered my imagination and wonder countless times. I will never forget Stan Lee until the day I too pass from this world.23 -
Heard the news earlier today. RIP Stan. I expect given what has filmed he has two more cameos, and both of the next movies will have some sort of memoriam for him.0

A big reason for all those awful low budget superhero movies is that they were rushed out in order to keep the rights to that particular franchise. The fact that special effects at the time weren't all that impressive didn't help though.
