    Nerfed and has its objectives changed, yes, absolutely.

    I still remember that just about the only time I managed to beat it in 10 turns was by using Nissa cycling deck to prevent the turn counter from ticking up....

    And, wow, if what you said about the 999 damage clause is true, what the hell? That's just another nail as to why that 999 damage ability should be removed.

    Personally, I'd like them to turn this node into what I thought it was from the description before it was released: a race to get City's Blessing. Add a permanent support that adds the 999 damage ability to the player's second Planeswalker ability if they have City's Blessing and this battle would be much more interesting and reasonable, especially for getting the win quickly objective. You can either ignore the support limit or try to outpace the creature destruction (token supports are also an option).

    Not a bad idea.  I always said to just increase the loyalty cost of the Gate's insta-kill so its harder to get turn 4.  But leveling the playing field sounds fun too
