Are you refering to the Ice9 post that said something about "People are gonna be hulksmash angry when they change the prologue healing"? That was no announcement. "True Healing" was announced on this forum 2 days prior to it going into effect and they did not mention that Spidey and OBWs healing were going to be taken away. Remember the Thorverine/funbalance pop up that we got for 2+ weeks before they were nerfed? Well, this time the player base got zero notice about this change. It's a stealth patch/nerf/update/change.

I have barely played since Lazy-punk Daken was released, although I've been playing each day to collect my daily bonus. I spend more time on this forum than playing this game.
    Yep, that's the post.

I wasn't around for the Thorverine funbalance (or I'd just barely started, so I didn't pay any attention), but it's good to know that they had a pop-up with actual lead time for that. I did expect them to change the healing only after the end of the Heroic. Changing it midway was annoying.

I'd like to know your definition of "direct nerf" because by any definition I can possibly come up with this is a direct nerf of obw. One of her abilities was changed to be worse. Sounds pretty direct.
Rags, Thorverine, and Spidey were direct nerfs. This change nerfs a general gameplay mechanic upon which OBW bases one of her strengths. I suppose you could characterize it as a direct nerf of OBW, Spidey, Shulk, and in relative terms, a direct buff of Patch & Sons, but I don't think that'd be accurate at all.

I think you just have your definitions wrong. It is a direct nerf of spiderman and obw. Shehulk not really since she wasnt even out yet. Their abilities were directly nerfed. Whether it's part of some greater plan does not matter, they were directly changed to be worse. Patch and daken were indirectly buffed. They were not actually changed, they just got relatively better due to changes to other chars. Indirect. Unless you count their out of battle regen, that was directly buffed.
  • Another ninja update. A well deserved nerf to MStorm, who was causing too many problems for every player ever.

  • I have to assume that's why she was nerfed, right? Cuz she was causing problems for the community in some way I'm completely unable to contemplate at this point?
  • The problem was that she was probably too effective in the Heroic PVE and that people playing with her were not using enough health packs.

According to Demiurge: if you're not using health packs you're not having fun.
  • what was changed w mstorm???

They probably asked some testers at some point "is using health packs a satisfying experience". They thought to themselves, "well, I get to keep playing with my favorite characters after they die/are too injured to go on, so yeah, that's pretty satisfying." So demiurge/d3 responds by figuring out every way possible to increase health pack usage cause obviously players like using them.

I've been less opposed to a lot of changes than most vocal forumites. However, I simply don't understand why they need to repeatedly release updates in the middle of events that are directly impacted by those updates.

First, it was the scaling f---ery that hit in the middle of that recent PVE, which screwed a lot of people (I luckily turned off auto-updating and heard early cries of terror in time). Now, it's an Ororo nerf in the middle of an event that makes her one of maybe 5 good, allowed characters? Sigh.

The fun part about this PVE is the progression rewards containing Spooderbag and OBW (blue) just to be extremely trolly and insulting. I bet the next round of rewards will contain MStorm (red) just to continue to slap us in the face with ****.

Especially funny considering we had some PVE downtime last week where they could have put that change in.

    just got theupdate ...thanks.

imso sick of these unannounced changes...what a bunch of kittty! i dont care that they nerfedher,i care that they did it with no warning or justification.

as suggested inanother thread imgoing to complain on demiurges FB page today . apparently they care what people say there.

  • Welp, time to mash "No" a billion times on that update pop-up until the event ends!

I just find it funny how of all the characters that needed adjusting, it was MStorm, one of the most benign and innocuous characters in the MPQ roster. And the nerf was just exactly copying the 3* equivalent. I feel we should invent a new term for this. I'll call it the 'lazy-nerf'.

The dev versus player metagame continues...

It's all our faults for playing games by devs such as say, Blizzard, who detail nearly every change ad nauseum.

"Changed a pixel in the house texture in Stormwind because when Hank released one of his trademark 'eye-watering farts' it looked like a ****."

We should just stop expecting this level of detail, amirite?
  • "Looks like those clowns at Congress did it again. What a bunch of clowns.

How does it keep up with the news like that?"

Ooooh, look another unannounced nerf from D3m, this time to Modern Storm.

They obviously don't care to communicate with the player base when a change is going to cause a negative backlash. It's a huge middle finger to everyone.

D3 are nothing more than a bunch of slimey, greedy, f#@#$ as##H0!3
  • ****?! Another ninja nerf? I'm gonna send a ticket tomorrow once I have access to my com. It's 1:37 am now. Can't think straight but I'm pissed.

I had the impression this was going to happen with modern storm, although I can't understand why they waited until now to correct it.
  • I guess too many players still found 1* Storm valuable enough over her 3*** version, so Demiurge needed to "take care" of that little oversight.

    Mission accomplished.
