I'm unsure about this. Even though it is F2P, there is still a paid component to the game which we paid for according to how we thought the game would perform. So for paying players, yes we'd like to know if they're altering things. The way the bracket allocation has changed is a big deal for pvp.

to be fair, this wasn't a ninja update, they did warn us that prologue healing nerf was coming. i was starving for healthpacks towards the end... then 15mins before the event end, daily rewards gave me... 3 health packs! lucky!

I don't mind ninja updates, just as long as they do them at the start of a major event, not the middle or end. You can't just decide to change rules in the middle of any game (let alone one being played for a week straight), that is ridiculous and unfair.

How many games out there do a weekly change of game mechanics?
How many games do regular bug fixes and communicate it well in advance, instead of spending time on changing game mechanics? Case in point Sunder bug is still active despite patch notes saying it has been fixed.
Not sure if you played the old games where game mechanics are fixed and usually authors can make a dime by selling strategy and walkthrough books.

Or since it seems impossible for the devs to resist the urge to sneak patches in mid event, they could simply change the name to Calvinball Quest.

What? Where? In the forums? Do I need to stalk IceIX on these forums and weed through 1,000 posts to find the 1 that says we might see a nerf/update soon? They did not inform the player base at all. There was no in game pop up informing the player base this was coming. This was the epitome of a ninja update. They didn't just get rid of prologue healing; they nerfed 2 Spidey and OBW and disguised it with soft, fairy languague and called it "True Healing". Wasn't 3* Magneto next on the list to be nerfed?

D3 can go eff themselves.

He talked about it in his Q&A thread, which ZenBrillig then condensed. So, no, you didn't need to weed through 1,000 posts. Also, "true healing" isn't a direct nerf of OBW, though that is the end result.

We've got an idea about that. It's currently in test at the moment. If it works out, you can expect rioting in the streets on the forums when we talk about what we're planning for a change. Are you refering to the Ice9 post that said something about "People are gonna be hulksmash angry when they change the prologue healing"? That was no announcement. "True Healing" was announced on this forum 2 days prior to it going into effect and they did not mention that Spidey and OBWs healing were going to be taken away. Remember the Thorverine/funbalance pop up that we got for 2+ weeks before they were nerfed? Well, this time the player base got zero in game notice about this change. It's a stealth patch/nerf/update/change.

I have barely played since Lazy-punk Daken was released, although i do play each day to collect the daily bonus. I spend more time on this forum than playing this game.

I'd like to know your definition of "direct nerf" because by any definition I can possibly come up with this is a direct nerf of obw. One of her abilities was changed to be worse. Sounds pretty direct.

Yup, hooray for those who asked for OBW nerf (though things don't change from a defensive point) and removal of Prologue healing. Hope that those people are happy campers now and have a better time playing the game.
