No more ninja updates!
Dear D3,
Lately you have been introducing plenty of updates to the MPQ community and there have been plenty of outrage by the players here. While many here disagree with your decisions, describing it as a cash grab tactic. I personally felt that D3 as a business is totally entitled to earn your moolah, and if the changes are designed to squeeze more moolah out from us, it is totally understandable. Hell, I will do the same if I am a developer of a F2P game.
However! I had enough of the ninja changes. If you changed something to the system, least you could do is post an update, isn't it what the patch notes are for? Even if you want hidden mechanisms in the game and do not want to fully disclose the tweaks, at least a note that something has changed (without disclosing what) will help a long way. For example, in the latest change, a "The way how you are bracketed has been tweaked".
Ninja updates leave us hanging, wondering what happened, and inevitably conspiracy theories will arise. I believe in full communication, even if last minute changes are needed, a retrospective patch note will do. We are not unreasonable people here (at least most of us aint), so I plead with you, do keep the communication open and transparent.
We have a great community here with an active forum. I do not want to see it destroyed. Thanks.

Seconded. The secrecy behind gameplay mechanics leads to confusion and discourages players. We don't want to work everything out by ourselves. It's a match-3 game, for what it's worth! Yet, it's becoming more and more complex with all the tinkering going on. Let us stay up to date with how the game should be played.0

Couldn't agree more. I wonder though if one of the devs will share his thoughts, or skip this for easier topics.0

I seem to recall a time when you played a game and had no info about the inner workings.
Now a days people expect to be spoon fed on how to win and expect everything handed to them on a silver platter.
I just find it humorous as to what some people here expect.
The devs are in no way expected to release every bit of data, heck unless it is a bug fix (scaling and mmr are not bugs) no info should be given out, let us try to find out what is the best way to handel things.0 -

Actions the devs choose to take say more about their character than actions the devs must take. You are correct that Demiurge has no obligation to treat their customers with respect - but it would be awfully classy of them.0 -

I do understand and enjoy the pleasure of spading. Spading is how we discover the existence of MMR and concept of tanking. But I get irritated when rules are changed without notice. As I said, I don't need dev to spell out mechanics, just needed them to give notifications when changes are implemented.0 -

I don't recall any time when it was the norm for companies to release a patch or update and not communicate what had changed, even if it was just something like "Matchmaking system tweaked"0 -

I seem to recall a time that games worked correctly when released. Need to move with the times, if things dont work thwn the end user needs to know and what steps are being taken to correct them. Same thing with changes, if something is changed the end user needs to be informed, is why patch notes are around.0 -

I don't find humorous that there are players who are OK with how things are done in this and other games. I believe they are the reason for the state the gaming industry is in today with many games being released incomplete with 1+ GB patches which are finished 1 year or even longer after players have purchased the product or games being released falsely as complete when they are obviously in beta. MPQ is not in beta, but is definitely incomplete (with many heroes lacking abilities and unable to reach max level). MPQ is a F2P, but I get the feeling it doesn't respect those who did spend a hefty amount in the game. In fact I feel more and more that the devs would be more happy with all the strong rosters gone from the game, making room for the new blood that makes the transition from 1* to 3* in leaps compared to the older players.0 -

I can't speak for everyone on the forum dragma, but, I know I don't need or want to know all of the complete inner workings of this game, or any game. However, when these "updates" happen in the darkness, it's at least nice to know which way to go so you don't run into a wall.. or to at least be given a flashlight.
So, it's not a matter of them releasing the MPQ Bible for us. And you are correct, they are in no way required to tell us anything. Some simple patch notes about the changes would suffice. We, as players, can most likely work out the specifics from there.0 -

I agree with your entire statement. For the sake of making this post shorter, I just used the last line because it supports the statement I am about to make. LOL.
The community here is the ONLY reason some of us (including myself) have been able to make it in the game. I have been playing for 2-3 months and just found the forum last month. And in the last month of being on the forums, have bettered my game play enough to actually place and be truly competitive so that I can effectively start building up my Roster. And no where in app does it direct people to the forums. NO WHERE. It used to have a tiny mention on the bottom of the first pop up screen telling you what current events were going on, but that was very short lived. I guess too many people could come here and read how to play with out spending tons of money so they took it off. (just flaming speculation...lol)
I feel sorry for the players who have no idea that this forum exist. In app, there are no rules posted, minimal training exercises to teach new people how to actually play the game as opposed to just making the first match you see. It doesn't teach how to collect covers and level up your characters. Etc.
And we SHOULD be aware of, at the very least, HOW they determine the figures for MMR, Scaling, etc. And when they make changes to it, we need to know why. It is our right as the consumer. A lot of us here on the forum have spent at least a small amount on the game. D3 has accepted OUR money, so we are vested in the game and have the right to know about the changes they are making to our purchase. When iPhone or Android rolls out updates for your phone, they tell you well in advance, they tell you exactly what is changing, and most of the time why. Same thing with any other product that requires an update download to be functional.
We as a community shouldn't have to speculate and calculate these things on our own. Not to mention, I truly believe that when we finally have a working idea of how something works, they change it. If I was more cynical, I would say it was on purpose. But I really hope that is not the case.0 -

I also recall a time when games did not change. Once you figured them out you knew how they worked and could rely on those predictable results.
Obviously a lot has changed since the old times. So I fail to see how your point is relevant in this day and age.0 -

What we expect is a consistent game with some instruction or description how it is scored.
It's like trying to play football without being told how much a touchdown, field goal and safety are worth. Good luck trying to win not knowing how the game is scored!
Can they EVER EVER tell us when subs refresh?
It's like trying to play football without a rule book and wondering why you keep getting whistled for offsides. Its like trying to play football and getting whistled for delay of game because you keep violating the 45 second play clock.
Instead we get a game whose structure changes constantly with no communication.0 -
Glad to hear most of you guys share my same sentiments. I really hope to hear from IceIX thou.0

SO that was your diabolical plan all along? Just to bump up your Rep Points? Be careful with that. Next thing you know, those will be counted in your MMR too. HA HA HA.
dear god. we dont need to give the devs any more crazy ideas, they have proven more then capable with execution in that regard.0
