    Okay, actually read it now.  Big fan of the Legacy and PvE Events dialogue.  It has an oddly familiar feel to it, almost like I've seen similar dialogue somewhere before ;)

    I find this conversation insulting considering there was similar conversation I was involved in regarding how much less enjoyable the game would be if it was PvP events only... and yet here we are. And not only that but half the new events also require an entry fee?

    Might as well just uninstall the game now.

    We don't know the prizes yet. 60 MC is fair for TotP. Why can't 20MC be fair for something else of definitive value to the player base?

    The prizes are irrelevant to me if the game isn't fun to play. I only just tolerate PvP events as being part of the game. I prefer PvE events, but there will be zero of them for this set.

    Add me to the list of severely disappointed PvE fans.  My optimism for this set has been crushed.

    Tolerate is a good way to put it. Prefer PvE to PvP too. I guess the time crunch didn't allow for a new version PvE to created on top of trying to catch up to paper release. *shrug* A little disappointing.


    That said... looking at the mana costs of this set... leads me to ask whether or not that we are under estimating the mana value and effectiveness of treasures? If so I do get the reasoning, if true, but for the long term these cards are over costed as new sets are released. It's one thing to have parasitic set mechanics, quite another if there are parasitic mana mechanics that play a role in costing a card.

    That conversation is probably unnamed (and likely exaggerated to make a point) quotes from conversations in these threads.  That being said, the only player it seems that Octagon is is a player with the extreme view of basically making legacy irrelevant, which would be alienating a good portion of MTGPQ's player base.

    I understand where you're coming from with the pay-to-play the new events.  If there's no reward in the event to earn back the fee price (plus additional appealing rewards) or they remove the free events so you can only play this, then I will definitely join you on the dissatisfied perspective. But...

    Octagon's loyalty to legacy makes me suspect that these new pay events will be in addition to the many events we already have, not as a replacement.  I would not have an issue with that.

    "Hey, we get lots of new and different styled events - so let's complain about what we don't get!"

    Anyway, I'm very curios how all of this plays out. The events sound really interesting and different which is what I care about the most after months of playing the same old stuff. 20MC is not much if the rewards are adequate. And if they are less than that any event would be irrelevant. I cannot wait to play these events.

    I also worry about some of the overcosted cards but I hope Treasure is really good enough to balance this. Again, we should be cautious, it is hard to predict how the set will play eventually, we've only seen a couple of cards (and no common ones!). And there are some really fairly costed cards there too.

    The idea of having more events even for past sets in the future is exciting and a nice tease. Sure, we don't get them NOW but there is so much new stuff just around the corner that I find it hard to mind.

    Open questions:
    - What will the rewards look like for these events?
    - Will there be objectives? Different ones?

    why do all the cards revealed so far seem overpriced for what you get? I know in the first blog Oktagon stated that it may change, but seriously EVERY card costs too much for what it does

    I hope the rewards are kept the same or better because I like grinding jewels.
