What we've been asking since last week.1

Good thing brigby promised to inform Oktagon about this. A response is really going to come guys. Now we just have to wait until everyone forgets about the issue and it'll be solved just like before.4

When the new year rolls around I expect the training wheels to be off.3

I wonder how long Oktagon will be using the 'But Hibernum's code is so bad!!' excuse for.

I'm constantly amazed at your lack of concern for karma on this matter. Lol are you just lucky to never have to do it, or really good at sorting out other people's bad code?2

How many quick fixes do you think the old devs did, and do you really think they smoothed that stuff over after, or even shoved in some comments and documentation? The code for the game had to be practically unreadable in parts. However, they could have done an event with one of the walkers in the vault already, and done it so it didn't coincide with RGP causing coalition members stress. There seems to be a quantity over quality thing going on right now, and that is what I am more frustrated with.3

Actually they were more likely digging through old code for "fresh content" to satisfy our pleas, and decided what's fresher than an old event that's only ran once?
Maybe they felt waiting for the pw to hit the vault would have risked riots. So they just released it ASAP. Frankly, it's really sated my need for "new content", but I can see how it might be frustrating if you didn't buy the walker before.
I think this is a net positive gain for the community. It's just not super ideal.2 -
I don't know why people think responding to concerns when you've promised to respond to concerns = suddenly fixing bad code or adding a new feature. I'm mad at the lack of communication that comes whenever Brigby promises to bring something up, and then that info quantum teleports into another dimension where we never hear from it again. If brigby came back and gave hard to fix code as a reason X isn't being done, that would be fine since it shows Otakagon heard about our concerns, acknowledged it and responded... but what am I suppose to get out of complete silence? For all I know Bright could just be telling us he'll tell Otakagon just to shut us up and in reality never actually tells them anything.

Theorising that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Moderator @Brigby stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished... He woke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Greg, an AI from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only @Brigby can see and hear. And so Moderator @Brigby finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home…
... To tell Oktagon to get their act together.5 -

I didn't think you were being sarcastic. I think it's a valid excuse for a while longer though.
Things like the networking code... They NEED to rewrite from scratch, but they won't get the time or resources for that possibly ever...
Other stuff they'll learn and fix and get far easier, but some things _are_ going to stick around because they are so critical but also so sensitive to just touching. (Like you shteev)0 -

Oktagon have provided two official communications thus far (Introduction; October Q&A). The only thing coming close to "But Hibernum's code is so bad!!" is the response, regarding priorities, that they're starting by "doing a broad based code/design review of both the client and server side of the game". To me, this sounds not only like an incredibly sensible thing to do, but communicated in about the least blamey way possible.
Based on what they've told us, that exercise is not yet complete, and is proceeding according to plan (at least, none of Oktagon's estimated dates for new content have slipped).morgue427 said:hmm depends on who they are it worked for Barack O for his entire 8 years, blame bush, perhaps less time i hope

I don't really understand why anybody expects oktagon to constantly drop what they're doing to address our 2,368,000 new daily complaints. We complain about things before they happen. We complain about things in threads disguised as thanks. We give them daily wishlists. Our complaints and wishes conflict. It's like we hate the game and feel forced to play. Like buying a 40 dollar mythic is a requirement. Then we wonder why we don't hear from them. There's no point in coddling a group that's impossible to please, and this is a group that's impossible to please.3

oh so true at times sirchombli, it is a game not a job some thought should be given to that fact, yes it takes time and some daily wishlist items are honestly very minor and hopefully are regarded as such with a low priority level. yes my last commment was sarcastic because i misinterpreted the prior comments. oktagon has a set amount of time and money in which to spend the money they have and have prioritized how best to meet those goals, i wish them luck and hope they can hit a grand slam and bring the game back to life.

Give us some battles other than RotGP - Complete!
Change the refresh timer on RotGP - Complete!
Give us a new elite pack - Complete!
Give us something to spend money on (crystal sale, older/current mythics, discounted crystals, etc) - Incomplete!
Stick the PW's in the vault required for the events - Incomplete!
Don't run concurrent coalition events - Incomplete!
So, I am giving them a C so far. Unfortunately for them, I am not going to anchor them to their roaring F- of a predecessor. They have done some very good things and listened to the community. But they have also missed some real opportunities.
Is it really that difficult to have the foresight to adjust the PW vault when you include the HoD events? (If HoD was a patch inclusion... then either remove the locked nodes or adjust the PW schedule during the patch.)
Is it that hard to put Olivia up for sale? Or some crystals?
Anyway, this seems like a really reasonable request that should have been predicted.
I mean, C is still a passing grade... I just hope they get better and really start anticipating and being proactive.2 -
