No more first completetion reward for pve

And, honestly, why in the hell should I even try the challenging nodes now? I used to go for at least a one-time completion in all missions, but there's precious little reason for me to do it now. For instance, in round 3 of the Simulator I have a high level Devil Dino plus Goons mission with the usual gamut of boring prizes attached to it. If I knew I was going to make 200 extra ISO 8 from it, I'd probably give it a few whirls and see that bonus as a reward for my repeated inevitable ingestions. Now? Why bother? Why not just focus on the easiest possible nodes and rely on rubber-banding to keep me in a desirable bracket?
I have never played a game that contained so many disincentives to play it. It's the craziest damned thing I've ever seen.0 -

The only explanation I could come up with was that since the first run of a mission guarantees a non 20-iso reward, that in of itself should be enough incentive for you to do it. Agreed on disincentives: it just doesn't make sense.0 -
Yet another reason I continue drifting away from this game, at some point if they don't change course I'm gone for good.0

This is fair, although I'm probably still too upset about all of the critical boosts I'm earning to take it seriously.0 -
yeah, didn't even know there was a patch node until people were complaining about it in the simulator thread. there's absolutely no point in doing that bottom branch, and only barely one for doing the 1k ISO for the main one0

If the devs should've learned one thing about this community is that...
No one likes ninja nerf's.
That said it's a shame, although there probably is a bit of an injection in ISO through all the PvE's.
It takes a bit of incentive out of doing some of the missions though.
It was a nice touch I thought when you completed a mission... oh well.0 -
Well, they've already gotten at least $100's worth out of me (I blame the fact that I had a ton of Steam credit lying around), but I put money into this game in good faith, i.e. I assumed they weren't going to start taking things away. The fact that the Simulator is out of control level-wise for me (to the point where I'm lucky if I can even beat a node ONCE, and I don't even have Spider-Man/C. Magneto), along with the removal of rewards and the overabundance of crit boost rewards (that last one's partially a joke, though I have received them in the last three nodes I've cleared) has really started to make me dislike this game.
But hey, like I said, they have my money - why should they care?0 -
They want to keep things balanced. They introduce something here, they will remove something there. You didn't really think you were going to get an extra 200 ISO every day during login without that ISO being taken out of somewhere did you. Same thing with the 500 progression reward HP. If they're going to give you HP for alliance reward, they are going to take it away from somewhere. Problem is, those not in 20 ppl alliances will end up on the short end of the stick.
The devs do listen but they have selective hearing. They evaluate the feedback and decide if an action is needed. E.g. they split the 500 HP from placing 1st as an alliance and gave half of it to 2nd. Though 100 HP disappeared from the economy in the process. 500 + 100 = 600 / 2 = 300.0 -

Except of course the vast majority of the playerbase only gets 50 iso and that only if all five members played that day and all solo players get nothing. First completion reward, even at 100 iso like it was in the Hunt (I think? We had 100 somewhere recently) would net all players, regardless of level or alliance membership a minimum of 700 iso per sub, 1k if you have the required character for the essential nodes. If you can play both normal and hard you can get up to 2k. If you play all three subs in both difficulties, you could get at most 6k iso. 12k with the 200 iso reward. That's a good amount for pushing a character a few lvls and a very welcome reward for most, but not game-breaking considering that most people who can play at this level will need more than 1k per lvl usually. Even so, these few levels can be crucial.
What have they introduced recently to balance the loss of this reward? If they decided to permanently go from 200 to 100, okay, 1k/sub is still nice. But they haven't. They just removed it entirely and there is nothing in the game to catch that loss... except to buy iso and frankly, iso prices are a scam (and even more so if you don't live in the US - the hike in Euro pricing is 25% - those $20 deals? They cost $25 here (18 €)0 -
At $118 for a motherlode of iso only an idiot would purchase it for real cash anywhere outside of the US, and even inside the US I cant see that many folks being parted with their money.
Removing the first time completions bonus as well as dropping all the other iso rewards the accountants need to realise that it is not financially viable to purchase iso8. Also with no iso to level all the new characters that are being released more and more people will sit with under levelled characters. With the changes in event tokens it seems as though we are being coerced into purchasing token packs. Bills have to be paid I understand that, however if I have spent a lot of money buying cover packs for my favourite villain or hero I do not want to then have to pay a lot of money to get enough xp to use them.
As for taking iso away and replacing it elsewhere that is complete hokum. We get 200 iso for daily log in IF you are in a 20 person active alliance, we have lost first time completion bonus iso, lesser iso on node rewards and also lose 10 iso every time we want to skip a retaliation on PvP. For PvP yes there is an iso bonus if you dont skip, but how many times have you skipped the same name dozens of times? Overall compared to a few mo ths ago there is now an iso defecit.
Metrics seems to be showing people are willing to pump money hand over fist into this game, but do the metrics show if people are happy to do so or are only doing as they have already invested too much to walk away. This game is very fast and very scarily becoming nothing but a cash grab. And to think people say EA are the greediest games company around.0 -
the thing is this: removing the first completion rewards doesn't even bother me that much...they've introduced other rewards that probably make up for it (or almost). What bothers me is that these changes always sneak in to be noticed by a perceptive member instead of being announced in some release notes0

as a steam player who gets no iso from any social media or outside source this loss is actually very devastating, im falling even further behind all because i found the game on steam first.0

This is a big cut taken out of Steam players' ISO income. Even on a small 5 day PvE event it already means in the thousands less and we don't have something like FB sharing to make up for it (or outright marginalize the change).0 -
The first time completion bonus affects mobile users too so the differential there between mobile and steam users is negligible.
If this was just affecting steam users then yes, we'd have more than enough reason to kick up a fuss.0 -

It is affecting Steam users far, far more than mobile users, because Steam users cannot get ISO from social sharing.
The average Steam user is losing a much bigger cut of their ISO income percentage-wise than the average mobile user and thus will have to make greater adjustments to his/her spending pattern.0 -
my expenditures are damn near going to be 0 if they reduce steam user iso anymore. hell it may turn to 0 because of this.0

I don't understand the notion of being ok with rewards getting removed/reduced some people have in this thread. Let d3p be content with it, not you. That being said, I don't miss them much but it would be nice if they brought them back.0

When they removed the first time completion rewards for PvE, they already knew that they were going to be pouring out more ISO through PvP. In the end, is it really a loss to the player?
The thing is, this game keeps having things taken out from here and added there and sometimes people just focus on the things that get taken out. I am of the opinion that they monitor the overall progress of things before further tweaks and sometimes that takes a couple of months to see the next change taking place. I wish it was faster, but that's the pace that they actually carry it out.0 -

If anything, the MMR changes mean that most people are pulling less ISO from PvP because who would fight extra 141s when they'd actually hit you back? (and for once you can find ones worth more than 20 points)0 -
