Look at her roster and alliance. SHould be pretty obvious.0

Well, my question of 'what team to run against lvl 276 Juggernaut-mStorm-Ragnarok in Jungle' is rendered moot - not that anyone bothered to share their broken comps I ran my A-team (it means my absolute fav team, not my strongest) of Punpun, oBW and the Hood both in Normal and Hard.
This is what it looked like in Hard. I lucked out into a 5-match at the beginning which led to a crit environment match which was enough for 2x Thorned Rose. Enemy abilities fired: 0. Otherwise someone would be very dead.
the start
the end
I was too chicken to heal although it probably doesn't matter at this point.0 -

Last night I looked at the nodes when the second round opened, but did not play any. Just wanted to see who the opponents were and who is buffed for this round. DID NOT PLAY ANY NODES.
Last night, Juggs, Rags, and Storm were around lvl 50ish. Now, they're 86, 87, 87.
Why have my levels been scaled before I even played?! ****
Community scaling is the name of the game.
id give a left sack for lvl 87 right now...
im still stuck on 2950 -
lol my hard Hood-Commander-Daredevil are lvl 331 (while Normal were 230). That's actually the highest level I can see so far, wonder if they are THAT easy to beat for the community. I know that the Hood is squishy, the Commander, while dangerous, is a mook, and Daredevil is Daredevil, but a bit miffed anyway.0

I had one game where I killed dd with a match and then a cascade hit his red trap. He showed dead in roster but he still killed my 4.5k patch because of that cascade hitting the trap0

dave i haven't been doing the punisher event much i only have 70 points and I'm about to go see the Spiderman 2 movie in like two hours there is no way i can get Loki at the end of this event. I'm stuck pretty much >.>0

Event ends in 10 hours. You have plenty of time to get some points. Loki is given out to the top 50. I can't see that far down my list but the person in 10th only has 600 points. You could probably get to top 50 with 300-400 points.0 -

Also, don't worry too much about Loki, though you still have a decent change of getting him. As noted before, Loki is an extremely puny god. I think the devs went a bit overboard with their interpretation of Loki vs Thor: "They're opposites, right? So, let's make Thor a mighty, all-pwning god, and make Loki just the s---tiest thing ever."0 -
lvl 358 X-Force and goons do 1100-1300 damage on a 4-match
So THAT'S how you make X-Force viable!0 -

Very cool! I forgot that was opening today!
Like what jozier said - getting into the Top 50 is really not as hard as you might think. If you dedicate even a solid hour to matches back to back, you can get up to 3-400 pretty quickly. You may need to cycle a few nodes to find the juicier targets, and if you do manage to get into the 500 range and are deep in the top 50, you can stop - shielding is up to you. Just try to maintain top 50 and you'll have Loki.
And as HailMary said... Loki is apparently not that "great". I can't speak on that as I don't currently have him either... but I've ran up to him a few times run by the AI. But then, the AI always seem to make all the characters look better, lol0 -
daveomite wrote:tcourtney wrote:Oh I am going to give it a try trust me, but waiting close towards the end where if I get there I can stay there you know instead of getting to 400pts then running into nobody i can beat and just get beat on till I drop below top 50
If you have a little HP, you can get a 3 hour shield for 75 HP. Or 8 hours for 150 HP.
Well ended up at 507 before ran into teams i can't touch....
And my token ended up as Cap 2* selling junk...fudge lol0 -
If I eat a hot dog in City, will my scaling rise another 50 levels? o_O I'm tempted to test this! But also scared!0

The problem with Loki is that there's no point in leveling him and his skills are very situational.
Leveling him only increases his HP and match damage and does nothing else.
His purple is an "okay" board shuffle up and cheap at 5 purple AP when you have 5 purple covers. But again, it just shuffles the board and ocassionally gives you cascades. Every other board destruction skill (C Mag red, all MN Mag powers, GSBW, Punisher's judgement, etc. etc.) will do the same thing but provide more damage and benefits along the way. And black is great, except: 1) it's only useful against strike/defence tiles and 2) it's fairly expensive at that.
So really the problem with Loki is that he's a reactive character when he's functioning at his best as opposed to a causative character. Except if you pair him with Patch. And that's the final problem with Loki - the only pairing of his that doesn't require you to wait for the AI to do something that will take out big chunks of your health anyway (i.e. let the AI cast Berserker Rage, Judgement, Psy's red, etc.) is to pair him with Patch and collect 10 black AP before popping BR. So that makes you acquire 19 total AP of two different colours just to be viable.
That being said, he is useful to counter a Daken/Bullseye but again you need to collect 10 black AP and hope he doesn't die from being super squishy and tanking the black colour for your team.0 -

I have level 200 on Daken in the hard bracket and 202 on Wolverine X Force and while I'm doing less missions than my usual run, I suspect 'less than usual' for me is still a lot more than anyone else (Davecazz beat me in the main bracket by 200 points after R1). So far I find that just don't use Magneto/Spiderman during your grinding, and your enemy will take care of your scaling for you. There are fights where I'd think about losing on purpose and then realize that I couldn't have won even if I tried when I don't have access to my two ultra cheap characters. I threw like 10 characters at Daken and he had no problem chewing them up, though The Hood/Captain America/BP actually won once.0 -
That's the problem, if I don't run Magneto, I don't stand a chance of surviving match damage that long. And maaaybe if I suicide my roster 10 times, my scaling will lower for 10-15 levels. For an hour at best.
I only beat those non-Essential nodes once though - won't be touching them anymore during the sub and will only hit Essentials 2x times (haven't touched them yet).
This will net my alliance some points (nothing stellar but nothing meager either) and help me stay in good position in main.
My only hope is that I get my scaling reset next PvE like reckless' did but maybe I don't deserve that yet.
I wish the game would allow us to choose our own difficulty for PvE (and get corresponding rewards, maybe slightly more ISO and tokens for harder enemies). If the player uses boosts and 'broken' characters they don't get the best rewards and that's it. Also make it so newer players cannot even choose the ultra hard mode and older players cannot choose the starter mode. Makes sense to me because 1*s can't survive match damage anyway and 3*s need more ISO by the very nature of their rosters.0 -

At least prior to the last refresh, so far I don't actually expect to win. I was just trying to lower my scaling on Daken and Captain America somehow picked up 22 red AP and plowed through the opposition, and I think my scaling even lowered on that win (lost a level 141 The Hood, BP, and Captain was down to 1K HP). I realize they will get to a point where your B-team no longer has a chance, but so far the distribution of the nodes appear to give you a solid chance for the non Magneto/Spiderman team to win. Remember, you don't actually have to win either. It seems like scaling is lowered simply by taking damage, so ideally you want to take a ton of damage and barely win, but even if you don't win, it should stil help your scaling.
For the essential nodes I resorted to Magneto because having Loki required is way too limiting. But it's not like winning a few games with Magneto completely hoses your scaling.
That said, they really need to let us know the exact criteria for scaling so we don't have to be guessing on what works and what does not work. I think it's actually a great thing to encourage a deeper roster via using your weaker guys to win and possibly lose scaling, but if this has to be something everyone knows (and verified too, since nobody really knows for sure). It's pretty clear there's a certain amount of damage you take that is considered as too little when you win, and while that amount seems only achieveable with Spiderman or Magneto, we really should be able to know what it is so that we don't have to purposely try to take extra damage to avoid scaling. While in practice this probably only happens with Magneto/Spiderman, it'd still be good to know just how much you can win by. You shouldn't have to think about letting a Flamethrower go off on purpose so that your scaling won't go up.0 -
I just got my **** handed to me by the hood DD and Commander 3 times in a row. Literally was unable to get anything going. Hood would steal AP and then DD would sendout like a million traps and I'd set them off. I can't believe DD just laid a beat down on me. Mother. ****. Daredevil.0

Facing Falcon, AW, Psylocke and all I'm doing is getting blacks at the cost of my Punisher knowing trickery is huge here. Get my number right before Pun goes down and they crush the board with Falcon protects and AW strike tiles. I'm okay though bc even though I just lost my literal big gun, the board is now going to be flush with trickeried strikes and protects. Game will be over in a couple turns. I pull it out and... only about half of the tiles change. What!? Am I getting a bug or is his ability limited to a specific number of targets? I know it doesn't affect attacks, but I thought ALL of the protects and strikes would be mine. What did I miss?0
