How much HP do you spend to reach 1100 in PvP?

That 3* progression reward in PvP is especially exciting now that a new hero is out.

I've never accomplished the feat of reaching that score. I've come close to 1000 but I've almost never used more than 2 shields in a single PvP (except that one time, but that was sheer stupidity and zero strategy).

So I'm asking those of you that have gotten to 1100; how many shields and how much HP does it usually cost you?

I'm going to make an attempt at the 1100 Falcon during this PvP.

Thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: I joined late with 20 hours to go, but this didn't prevent me from ending up in a bracket with 5DV something or other guy that is sitting in #1 with 1500+ points.
I climbed from 0-868 right after joining. Then I tossed up an 8 hour shield and went to sleep. One hit absorbed by shield. Played from 868-1015, then I got hit twice which took me down to 968. Climber back up to 1058 and shielded for 3 hours because I was out of health packs and I was so close. Healed in prologue. Found two easy nodes OBW/Hulk and OBW/Punisher. Both went super smoothly. Hit 1108 and put on another 8 hour shield to last me til the end.

Final tally: To reach 1100 I spent 225HP and then I chose to spend another 150 HP for the sake of my alliance as I only need 1 more punisher cover.

My team: I ran mostly Punisher 128/OBW 85 towards the end to counter all the OBWs I was facing. But my climb to 900 I was using Psylocke 128/Punisher 128.

  • Last two times I did it was for HT (0 shields) and Falcon (1 three hour shield that was up for maybe 15 min)

It depends on your roster a lot. But yeah, these days it's either 0 shields or 1 at around the 1050 mark. My general goal for this season is getting to 1100 with no shields, then 1200 using one 3 hour shield in between.
  • Most I've had to spend to hit 1100 was uh... a lot, in the GSBW tournament. Guessing 300 to 350. Way more than I originally intended, but I got my last GSBW cover, so I came out pretty happy. Aside from that, 0 to 75, given I just 3 hour shield near the end and might make a push in the last few minutes to cross that threshold.
  • usually between 75-150 hp for me.

To actually _get_ to the cover - 0 for Torch and Falcon since there are a lot more worthy targets (30+) nowadays.

It's more of a hassle to shield to _keep_ the points though, I usually use a 24h through to the end.
  • Pretty sure you can do it with your team but it will be hard. At around 1000 point you need to win fast or else you get hit for 30-40 points. Most people use the broken Patch+C.mag combo. If you dont have them it is going to be much hard to get there. It usually take a 3 hour shield at 1000+ and a lot of boost to get there safely.

If i was you i would invest a bit more into your C.mag and patch. Pyslocke is good but she is not that amazing to be your core.

Thanks a lot for having a look at my roster. Yeah, I know that my team isn't optimal for it. Once I hit 900 I become fish food for you big boys.

I'll try to hit 1000 first. Then I might shield every 2-3 fights and see if I can creep my way up.

I would do 2 fights, and go mildly boosted as well.between shields. Few things are more irritating then pushing that 3rd fight and coming out with fewer points.than u had after 2 fights. Personal experience, 4-8 min seems to be the "get attacked" threshold. Which usually means after the 2nd fight you are at a high risk of seeing a negative after the 3rd ...especially in a tourney like this where its basically 2 man teams and a useless Goose
  • I went only once (for the Torch), spent 3x75. Could have done with 2x75 really but timed my second push badly with zillion of active players plus lost one of the games to a cascade so fell back and abandoned the try. Actually saw 1103 posted but didn't get the cover due to attack and one guy kept hitting me every few minutes.

Then few hours later overruled my decision and used the retals for fast climb to ~1060 and used the 3rd shield, then waiting ~2h for retals made the final go.

If played in the off time all the way might be good with even less.

I was just thinking about this last night, and now it's a forum topic. Huzzah!

For a player without a speed-kill team, how feasible is pushing to 1100? I've got LT, BP, CMags, and Hulk, but no usable Patch or Punisher. Do y'all have any tips for hitting 1100 with a slow, solid team?

you have to start early and try to climb a little bit everyday or every hour. My suggestion push, until your health packs are gone, tank a little bit in shield, when your health packs are back push again. keep doing this and I think you can make it.

I use a lot myself, I hate losing points in retals.

I also look at it as an investment. If I was going to increase 1 power on a 3*, it would cost me 1250 Hero Points.

So if you are pushing for 1100, you're probably going to be 1st or 2nd or there abouts.

So if you win first, you get: 1 4* cover, 2 3* cover, and if you are in a top 100 alliance you get another 3* cover. And don't forget you got the 1100 reward cover.

So in total, you get at least 4 covers, maybe 5.

So even if you spent 1000 on shields, the cost per cover is 200-250. Well below the 1250 hero points it would cost to gain one power on 1 cover.

For me it make sense, and I usually only spend around 500, sometimes 600. I figure they are going to make us pay one way or another icon_e_wink.gif

    Ah, thanks!

I can see how this would work pretty well up to maybe 800-900, but once you hit 900, the hordes descend on even L141 LT + BP. Is shield-hopping pretty much the go-to method, or are there other tricks that help?

I've never reached 1100 in a PVP yet. But the last two I've reached 1000 and I am going for 1100 in the Falcon PVP. I usually wuss out on going for 1100 as I fear getting hit repeatedly on my way up. I usually spend HP on two 8 hour shields or one 24 hour shield depending on when I play. I try to play at the 24 hour mark, get as high as I can, beat a bunch of teams, and then shield with a score hopefully good enough for top 10.

I only achieved that twice so far. Amount of shields used both times: 0. Made my pushes on the second-to-last days of the tourneys (well before the -24 hrs mark this time).

But I have the benefit of being able to play at off-times (sleep time at EST). I think that's the critical factor. BY THE WAY BEE IS AT GMT SO CAREFUL THERE. lol

Having faster characters helps (I have Punisher and cMagneto, but oBW is also actually very fast and happily dismantles LTs and BPs alike when the strike tiles are laid down - not kidding ye. Not very good on defense against 3*s, sure).

Ah, interesting. I have no good strike tile characters -- BP is just meh in that department. I do have a maxed CMags, so it looks like Punisher is going to be my next L141!

I did it today. Well, no, actually, I started testerday, pushed slowly to 700, got beat down by retals to 600, almost got to 800, got beat down to 560.
Early today pushed to 900, shielded 8 hour - could use less expensive 3 hours shield, but IRL called me.
Later I started my last push when Simulator and LRs started, thus helping to distract horde. Got up to 1100 and shielded till end of tourney.

Forgot to add - I run 141 Patch + 85 oBW. Falcon is really good as second support - destroys enemy strike tiles and boosts Patch's own. Although, it seems, that on defense (underleveled) Falcon is less useful (for now).

When there are multiple events running you can often sneak a crazy push in while everyone else is busy. For Doctor's Orders, I cleared my Hunt sub early, and then went buck wild on PvP while everyone was grinding PvE. Went from 832 to 1258 in 1 hr. With a slower team, you could still get from 900-1100 in that time if you're quick and have a full 5 health packs.

in the black widow pvp, 3 shields for 225 HP. One at around 900, one at 1050 and one at 1100+ (so I guess technically the last shield was not needed for 1100).

I pushed from 700-900 then shielded, then pushed from 900 to 1050. I only have 1 maxed 3* though, so I may have been overly anxious.
  • Took one shield last eevent and got to 1227 this event with none.
It really just depends on how lucky you are with your timing.
