Not Emma.... Just follow the lullaby and there's your answer.
Hmmmm... are you saying it's a character with a particular avian-based codename? Perhaps an avian that likes to "tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner" or is "not authentic or real, but without the intention to deceive"?

I mean...that character would be awesome to have but...
I'm not getting the diamond connection?

And if that (animal) won't sing, Momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

Cause the diamond is a misguided hint. The true hint is the lullaby, there is where you'll find the "answer".

I assume it just means that they already know who it's going to be from data mining and this is how they're letting the rest of us in on it.

Well, these characters are leaked like a month in advance, so they already know the character, and are reverse-engineering the clue.

The clue simply gives you the diamond (as opposed to saying "Graphice: C(s, graphite)" and referring to a different form of carbon). Could it be referring to the complex structure of diamonds? No, because these clues are funny little references, teasers meant to get you thinking, but not necessarily meant to be solved (see the one where we took the clue "Stop me if you've heard this one" and found a Spidey comic with Doc Ock, and were later informed that it simply meant "stop" as in "stop sign" as in "stop signs have 8 sides and Doc Ock has 8 legs").

Once you've got diamond, you just figure something out that fits. Diamond body of Emma Frost? Way too obvious. Sparkle of diamonds possibly meaning Dazzler? Same (plus a step closer to wasting a spot for X-Men people actually want on Dazzler because people think it's funny to make joke guesses every release).

The "diamond" clue is WAY more likely to refer to a married couple than one of those. Jessica Jones? Bobbi Morse? Hank Pym? Madelyne Pryor? Betty Ross (Red She-Hulk)? Rescue (Pepper Potts)? Numerous others in the game? (like a Storm variant from when she was married to Black Panther?)

But people have jumped on the lullaby because they already know who the character will be, and it happens to fit.

The lullaby people are posting starts as follows.
Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mockingbird don't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

Presumably, the "diamond" clue is meant to point us towards Mockingbird, because of this lullaby.

But the reality is that people knew it was going to be Mockingbird because information is leaked like crazy, and once they saw the clue was about diamonds, googled the two, and found the lullaby, and claimed to have solved it.

The clues are usually vague, to make us speculate, where multiple characters could be the "right answer" (it's also a way to get people to say who they "hope" it will be, to gauge interest in how excited people would get about potential characters), and it's rarely as black and white as "diamond clue -> lullaby -> it's Mockingbird."

Welp. Well that's quite a let down, Mockingbird. AoS season 5 isn't even airing soon. Whatever. Should have been Melinda May in all honesty.

I know star rating isn't a measure of super-power, and Coulson was both novel & powerful, but it's a shame to be getting more 'mundane' 4-stars (I assume) characters when so many iconic heroes & villains are absent.

The likes of Black Cat or Madame Web would have been great continuations of the current theme.

Huh...well okay I get the logic. Obviously they thought the clues before were too easy and decided to make them obnoxiously challenging (since I never understood the "Stop me..." clue until you explained it.) Sounds like typical D3, eh? Making stuff unnecessarily challenging =P

I mean, I don't know how you're meant to glean the character's name from diamond. It would be like bringing Rescue into the game with the clue "Message in a bottle". You know, because it was sung by Police. And the Police are an emergency service. And they rescue people. Hell, even that felt more logical than diamond meaning this character. Diamond could mean anything!

Also, jokes on you, I actually happen to want Dazzler in the game.

Not to mention the fact that she hasn't been on the series since sometime in season 3 in 2015-16, since the spinoff series Most Wanted wasn't picked up. I thought when that happened they would bring Bobbi and Hunter back sometime last season, but no luck. Maybe they'll be back in season 5.

I don't follow the comics so much, is she part of a major arc right now, or one coming up?

She's probably being included because she's an Avenger (and a founding West Coast Avenger) and was married to Hawkeye at one point, and was a top SHIELD agent before she was boosted with super soldier serum. AND she's female, since we've been requesting more female characters. I would be willing to bet her inclusion has literally nothing to do with the show.Dragon_Nexus said:

It's not meant to be solved. It's meant to be a teaser (so whatever the stretch, the clue still references the character), and it's meant to generate excitement and get us thinking (part of which is free research for them, so they can see what characters we get excited about potentially being in the game). They've been more obscure recently (last few months) because they were too easy to guess before (or at least that's what I remember someone saying), but I don't think they care if we manage to solve it or not, because the goal is the discussion, not whether we're "right or not," you know?

And I'll be honest, I want Dazzler too. But I can name a dozen X-Men I'd rather see before her, easy. And if she's included because people obnoxiously suggest her as a joke every single release, it'd be a waste of a spot.

She had a solo series last year that got canceled at 8 issues and she's been in Amazing Spider-Man as a bodyguard for Peter while he's the CEO of Parker Industries. It wouldn't surprise me if she was planned to be the game earlier, but they got sidetracked with movie tie ins and the like.

Well, if she's his bodyguard, maybe they're considering that a tie-in to Spider-Man to continue with the summer of Spidey theme.

So Mockingbird I guess. What will her powers be?
