Hi Everyone,
With the most recent Trial of Zeal featuring 6 Max Node Charges, I wanted to create a follow-up poll to gather everyone's feedback. I have also adjusted the formatting of the Poll options to allow for more flexibility, as well as to account for Progression Meter as a variable.
Please note that the below poll options use the verb "Change," as opposed to "Increase" or "Decrease." This was done on purpose to account for both sides of the same coin. After selecting an option, please write a brief comment explaining whether you support an increase or a decrease to the corresponding variable.
When considering your version of the verb "Change," please use the recent 4hr Recharge Rate and 6 Max Node Charges as your baseline.
In addition, it would greatly assist the team if players would be willing to include a brief explanation of why they find their chosen changes desirable.

Change Node Recharge RateChange recharge time, 4 hours is too much. If changing the recharge time the event start lasting too much, reduce boss health and adjust progression.
But please change recharge time to 8 hours.0 -

The rewards could scale infinite, I see no reason for an end of progression rewards

While I appreciate that it was changed with the intent to allow players more opportunities to make progression, the abrupt ending this weekend means that most players missed out.
The top performing players all played their very best for the top teams... and didn't leave any boss for the rest of us!
I think it's time to leave the idea of boss HP behind. Miscalculating the amount of HP needed any given event makes things unpleasant. Quite frankly, this system makes more work for you for very little benefit to the players.

Change EverythingI explained it in another thread. I think players will keep disagreeing on its length, recharge rate, progression meter needed, etc.
The whole system is flawed, because all the coalitions share the same Total Boss's HP.
Not only that, but also, it means that newer players, average players, and top players will all be "fighting" the same boss, lowering the same HP bar.
By doing well, you're punishing other players and vice versa.
1. Increasing the Max Node Charge charge helped a little bit to make it more bearable but doesn't fix the problem.
2. Changing the Node Refresh Rate will mean having too play too much or too little depending on the players. (for the record, I'm in favor for the 8-hour recharge)
3. Changing the Boss's Health only means a longer event, more grinding, and nobody wants that.
4. Lowering the progression meter would help newer players get the max progression reward, but what about the rest of the playerbase? We'll keep playing all our games, but for no rewards. None of us would let our team down, but it's not pleasant, we don't have fun nor feel accomplished.
My suggestion would be for every coalition to have their own Mini-Boss. The first coalition to kill him finished first, then second, third, etc. It is meant to be a coalition event, a team effort. You will still have the time limit, which will give plenty of time to players from all the coalitions to get to their progression rewards.
Right now, the faster top players can kill it, the less time it'll give newer players to reach their progression rewards. And, usually after getting the max progression, many players will stop playing the event, leaving only the most devoted players to finish the boss off, otherwise everyone has to wait for the boss to die automatically and risk it to overlap with other events.
You could also lower the third node boss's HP. Right now, it's really limiting deck building, and if you can survive and stabilize the board (like by locking all his creatures), the match is already over, we don't need to play another 30 minutes to deal him 500 damage. You added Enraged to nearly all the events to "speed" the matches up. Well, these boss matches take forever. (still please stop putting Enraged everywhere)
The boss event may have been a cool idea, but in practice, nobody likes it, it's inconvenient for everyone. And it fails its purpose as a coalition event.

Change Node Recharge RateThe 4-hour node recharge makes the event feel very grindy. It is very annoying for coalition events to feel grindy. My coalition is a huge reason I continue to find this game fun. I want coalition events to be a way for me to get together with my coalition mates to strategize and share bad beats stories. I don't want coalition events to feel like a drag, something I'm forced to do out of obligation.
I personally don't want non-coalition events to feel grindy either, but I'm much more willing to accept when they are because I can ignore them without feeling guilty.1 -
Change Node Recharge RateMaybe you realize this, but perhaps not. You have lost a lot of veteran players due to various issues such as mythic card drop rate, general bugginess, etc. but I've seen many people cite this 4 hr recharge rate as a big reason they are turned off by the game now. The experienced players aren't here to grind out wins, they are here to get all secondary objectives and challenge themselves to build strong decks with restrictions like that. The challenge is the fun part. The 4 hr refresh rate frustrates those players the most, because their matches take longer... and they can't keep up or end up dedicating their life to the game. So, for the sake of the game... please don't keep this 4 hr refresh... 8 is just fine.
Other related business: the fact that you are using a refresh mechanism at all for events outside the ToZ style event is rediculous. It make sense when the event can end due to boss health being drained. Each players gets the same chance to get points. It Serves no purpose at all in the ToA PvP style events. Everyone always gets the same number of chances in a set period of time. Why not just give us all the charges at once and let the player get them in on their own schedule? As it is right now, the last refresh is almost impossible for me to get in, as it hits after my shift starts at work, and the event ends at the same time as work. Basically me and my coalition get screwed because of a refresh mechanism that serves no purpose for the players. And I know a lot of others that have similar timing issues based on where they live. Maybe it serves a purpose for D3... but not for us, and it's obvious.
Just kill the refresh craziness and give us all our matches up front please... except PvE events... they make sense there for the players.5 -
Change Several Aspects (Please Explain)4 hour recharge has lost you MANY players and much business but even though Change Recharge rate may avalanche the vote tally currently, can anyone honestly say it's the 1 and ONLY thing that should change about all these events to make the playing field Fun and Fair for Everyone?
Before voting, consider strongly that there are multiple ways that each event could become greater so voting for just 1 problem will tell the programmers that you r vote told us that only 1 thing could make it tolerable Instead of addressing the Many things that would benefit All of the player base, which is VERY possible. This wonderful game could fold if the Node 3 Boss battles are rather difficult for many players Or if new players , Actually all players, are dissuaded by a Frantic Grind that almost No One likes and is currently likely not nearly rewarding enough for Most players.
Voters, please vote as if this were a car could be tricked out with MANY improvements that would bring people back and bring new people in to this great game not just only 1 Major problem to address with a short term fix.

If the refreshes are every 8 hours, the boss health is too high / event too long, so it should be brought down a notch so the event finishes around Monday.
Progression rewards should be adjusted, especially considering the player's tier. All players are facing the exact same challenges, so newer/lower tier players are clearly at a disadvantage to hit progression rewards, which are, on top of everything, worse than for higher tiers. This is totally unfair and makes no sense. If you actually want to help newer players, the rewards for lower tiers should require lower points.
Also, it would help motivation at all levels to not fully cap progression rewards, e.g. after the maximum one, keep giving small ones every 100 or so points.
Finally, I miss PvE event exclusives. They gave a real sense of achievement compared to the random rares that are, more often than not these days, mere dupes.1 -

Change Boss HealthThe boss health bouncing around seems like a real problem. Just go to a timer. Not knowing when it ends and if you need to jump in right at a refresh time to get your play in before it finishes is a pain.0
