I think it's okay to face something challenging once in a while.

Let us uses ALL set like it's supposed to be per the new event rule. As far as I'm concerned this is a PvE event. And it would still be challenging

I nearly managed it with a creatureless Ob Nix deck

Drycha what were you using to remove creatures that could not take damage?

I haven't played the event yet, so this is a tentatively offered comment, but effects that give a creature -X/-X typically bypass prevent damage, and Black has a lot of cards with that effect. Though you might have to stack a few to get rid of a bigger creature.

Hints: bounce or confiscation. On my both accounts I've beat him on second try- alt I've used Koth (was fortunate enough to have wurmcoil engine and raced him with ulti on board). On main I've used Dovin - ulti + empyreal voyager for fast growth, Aethersquall (killed almost immediately by his angel) and confiscation to grab his angel and vizier. BTW baral expertise is bugged and do not work correctly.

Took him out first time. With nearly full life. Tough and intimidating, but very doable. Took quite some thought on my deck build before going into battle. But it was worth it. Samut right after was a price of cake, using the same deck. ;)

EDIT: No, I didn't use a purely mythic deck. Several uncommons were enough...

If you disable them you can take out indestructible creatures.. even the gods!

I personally found the event very fun so far.. I beat 3.1 and 3.2 on the first try, but it was no easy feat.  However, if only a small portion of us can take out the 3rd node, this will be a very long event.

I've tried a few times against 3.1 and I haven't gotten very close. Runes come so slow It's hard to level pw's, and I get so many dupes my library rarely grows.  I've only gotten 2 mythics and 14 rares so far and most of them are niche cards.

I managed him with Dovin and Confiscation Coup, but I was a little shocked when he started casting Vindicate on the stolen creatures. It gets worse when you face Sammut on the next node. 0 cost loyalty ability gives all her creatures double strike, and she'll cast Chained Lightning on your creatures every turn. Oh, and you're supposed to finish the match with 80 or more HP left over.

Agreed, quite a fun event so far. Wonder what 3.3 will bring!

BTW, we are down to 98% after 4 hours, I think we are timing out regardless of 3.3 :D

Idk, for 3 it boosts +4 +4. I used confiscate but was out ran because it cascaded 3 8/8s then beefed them for the next 3 turns while destroying my board with jace 2 Ult and 3 draw spells in my hand.

Extremely agro heavy........ I almost want to say screw the don't kill 3 and just load up.

Seems like you need the right cards otherwise you can forget ever beating 3.1. To me that feels backwards.

Disability spells for the gods, kill spells for everyone else.

Unfortunately I just can't keep up with the mana, his creatures blow up so fast.

I'd be fine if I was struggling at 3.2 or 3.3, but I see point in even attempting if he just cascades into 24+ damage with an ability to boost every 3.

I guess this event is for the top 1000 that play the game and those with the key cards at their exposal. I'll just enjoy my only rare from amonket with a nice x4 next to it.

I used Tezz2, with Blightcaster and lots of supports. Go t the mechanical dude out and had destroy spells on the ready. Insidious Will and Blightcaster were the key. Underhanded Designs helped with life and continued small damage. Deadlock trap saved me from vicious attacks and also bypassed god imunity. Syndicate Trafficker kept ramping with all the 1/1 servos generated by my mechanical construct. Herald of Anguish reduced power of opponent. And unlicensed disintegration went to work. Orbs of warding was more added as "another support" to play for Blightcaster. Day's Undoing I used to fill my hand.

There. 3 mythics. 5 rares and 2 uncommon. Still had 80+ life left.

Ran the same deck for Samut and took zero damage...

I used the blight cast method but I don't have the stacked cards to make it work. I would kill to have days undoing and dead lock trap.

My sympathies. Doesn't seem they want newcomers to fully participate in the event, does it?

Yeah, this is their way of getting people to spend money and chase cards and currency.
