But at this point, they're essentially committed to it right? How are you going to shield up for 10 days in a row and then stop? I just picture them all with the G.O.B. "I've made a huge mistake" thing going on every time they re-up that shield.

They're not committed because future shield spending cost is avoidable. It is their decision to continue or not, and the sunk cost of the current shields up to this point should have no impact on that decision - those costs have no value.
  • Maybe they are hoping to shield-hop away from the pack so they can't be touched anymore. Which I believe happened in one of the Elite tournaments.

Sure did, thanks to Josemartins. He wouldn't stop breaking shield, so Doombot and I had to keep pace. By the end there was a 400 pt. gap between the Top 4 and the rest of the field. Made for a boooooooring ending, as we all just shielded out the rest of the tourney.
  • 10 heroic covers at 5000 progression but 50hp at 10'000 think d3 need to add a 0 to that HP seeing as it is over a month worth of PVPS
  • I think the better rewards are at the middle to spread out the reward train as to not receive X 10 packs at the end. It also gives mid level teams something to shoot for as that is their end game reward. They will not be getting the 10 packs in the final bracket.

End result is rather have the worthwhile rewards in the middle than have good unobtainable rewards at the end.
  • I agree with the obtainable part but wit reward structures should always reward and be progressive not progressive then regressive but hey that's just me and my social model of thinking. if I get to 10'000 its because I already worked past 5000. pointless calling something a progression when essentially it is a regression. they give 50hp away as a daily reward at least once a month.

Add me to the "d3 convinced me to never ever buy tokens" support group.

A bunch of 2* I didn't need (MMN, Hawkeye, OBW) and 1 lonely 3*, a green hulk which is nothing but a 500 ISO voucher.

I pulled a purple GSBW from a standard token, which I needed, right before I pulled from my heroic 10 pack.

The top guy in my season bracket already has over 10.000 points (with 2500 from the simulator). Ridiculous.

Then again, I'd already need 7000+ at this point to make the top ten. I'm actually happy that Fury is an alliance reward now.

Yea, at this point, a 'rainbow cover' (one cover of my choice) is more valuable to me than 20 heroic tokens.

Which bracket you in? Does it have slobofix at the top? If so I'm in that bracket as well.
  • I didn't see a lot of point in doing that SHIELD Simulator, but now that I want to get the 10-pack reward it sure feels nice being able to rack up some points without being hit on like the hottest chick at the party.

Wow, #1 in my Season is 6802.

I'm in the same bracket. I conceded the season to him after he started shielding on Day 1. If he wants to drop 10K in shields to get 1 more 10-pack than I will, he's more than welcome to it. I'll buy 4 Fury covers instead. icon_e_smile.gif

Edit: Actually, no I won't. I'll win them in PvP as I'm saving up ISO to level him.

Yup, I'm in the Slobofix/jimbojim/dark silence bracket of doom (TM) too.

As tempting as those hero point packs are, I'm reaching the point where I have most of my characters maxed out cover-wise up to such an extent that the odds of getting anything useful out of a random pull is getting slim. I'm better off focusing on PvPs that give the covers that I need, and I'll see a high season score as a nice bonus.
  • Slobo/jimbo/Dark Silence are all in the same S1 bracket?

    Damn, that's intense.
  • Ok, just got my 10-pack

1st cover - Moonstone Purple (ok we're just warming up)
2nd cover - Classic Storm Yellow (she's maxed here but alright)
3rd cover - Moonstone Black (ok...)
4th cover - Modern 2* Cap Blue (I already sold you buddy)
5th cover - Classic Storm Green (oh boy...)
6th cover - Classic Magneto Blue (FINALLY)
7th cover - Human Torch Green (COMING IN PAIRS)
8th cover - Bullseye Purple (OK LET'S NOT BE TOO EXCITED)
9th cover - OBW Black (what is this? a 2* I actually need?)
10th cover - Patch Green (PRAISE BE RNGESUS)

All in all a pretty good draw, even though only OBW is going to see immediate use.

wow. Certainly better than my 10 pack. I had two covers in it I needed, one spiderman, the other I think a hulk? Not sure, will have to go back and check my last post on it. Kind of underwhelming overall.

now I'm at 7.1k. And agree with others. With 500 iso being the next progression, that's not so bad. But 50 Hp for 10k? Just seems a bit weak of the top progression.
  • Just think, say the Green Rags in the simulator was not last reward, but they swapped it for the 3rd last. You know how many unobtainable covers we have had recently in pve and people harp on about it? It makes more sense to have the valuable progression mark somewhere obtainable and if you are going to win big rewards in the final standings by hitting 10k+ you get a little something extra. Its literally a win win for most people. This season one specific reward structure is probably one of the only decent to good update that they have had recently in the realm of savage scaling, turfing pvp mmr, destroying the lightning rounds.

Not that people want Green Rags but you get what I am selling, you are selling what I'm taking, I can keep going, please make me stop.

Nice. Right now I have 3 fully covered 3* being cap hulk and doc doom. So I'll definitely be trying tonmake a late charge to get top 50 if not top 25. What are your points at right now? I'm at 5900 sitting at 63rd.
