    Hi Everyone

Get ready to rock the world with two new variations of the dashing cosmic outlaw, Peter Quill!
Check out 3-Star and 5-Star Star-Lord here: Star-Lord (Awesome Mix Volume 2) and Star-Lord (Peter Quill)

    VARIATIONS

There's that awful word again. If the idea is to make players lose interest in new releases, then yay, good job! Otherwise ... eh.

Well it boils down to a this. If players are asking for the same characters in polls, which there must be a few, then that needs to stop. Literally, this year is piling up to be the year of variant characters. If this movie foreshadows the variants I can only imagine when Thor comes out and Spider-Man this year. Pretty much can guarantee we will more than likely get a 5* Thor, which would be Unworthy Thor, then probably a 4* Loki, we may get lucky and get Valkyrie, or possibly Hela as boss event, but that's probably asking for too much.

this should be in the general discussion page as it covers new characters and new tournaments.  Could a mod please move?

Ha, things can only be moved from general discussion to obscure sub forums no one reads. You can't get back onto main st. after the fact .

Also, haven't seen any character designs yet but I predict these releases will continue to push power creep some more and they all will be top ten (maybe five) in their tiers. 5* star Lord will push someone off the tier below the Thanos/BB tier.

I doubt Quill's pushing that hard up the 5* tier list if his kit is functionally identical to a 3* character.

Hawkeye 5* version is functionally the same as 3* but their distinctions let him roll in the right situations and can beat max 5* at lower levels. Definitely top half of the tier for me.

I don't see why Star Lord would be any different. Prolly not top but devs have been pushing creep the last six months to make new characters worth acquiring. AP ratios have been out of whack for awhile with each new release.

There's a huge difference between 3 and 5 star Hawkeye. 5 star Hawkeye generates a lot of ap from countdowns and also fortifies them

Their Blue is the same.  Other than that, they generate different colored AP, and in completely different ways.  And Hawkguy not passively fortifiying tiles is significant.

This Star Lord is the same scenario that gave us Lazy Cap and Lazy Thor years ago.  5* Strange gets an active for his yellow, and his Eye is permanent. , 5* Thanos gets board freeze and a stun.  Star Lord presumably just does more damage and heals and steals more.

And let's face it. 3* Cap and 3* Thor are terrible.

Yes so this is the first "true" lazy 5 star

You are probably right @vinsensual. Forgot the devs like to phone it in more often than not.

I'm just so jaded by their monetization strategy at the moment, I figure they'd just push the boundaries on power again to give people something to fiend after and dump money into. At the same time, they are probably up against the wall with this and the Spidey release coming up. Probably had to phone in one of them. Second 5* Spidey... Will Vegas let me bet on that? Lol

**Please keep conversation on topic of the OP. If you wish to create a separate thread about the merits of dual releases and there isn't already one being discussed, feel free. Thanks!**

3* Cap and 3* Thor are great, but I'd be complaining all the same if they got remade to 5s.  Skillset innovation in the 5* tier was one of the things that made the super high entry barrier sufferable.

Maybe this green charged tile conversion will be a monster the likes of Girl Friday, but it's apparently not enough of a strong unique mechanic that the devs kept it the same when creating the 3* Star Lord.  Maybe it revolutionizes the 3* tier in the same way Strange's passive did, but we already have a healing green tile converter with a green aoe in the tier.

Ah, but Starlord uses Yellow to generate Green, while KK uses Purple. You could use them together, the way people want to use Ragnarok (make charged tiles, then use KK to match them) except it'll actually work. :)
