Yup have to scroll way down the page just to see the posts.  lose the ginormous banner please, also the featured posts at the top are just pointless as that is what stickies are for.

Agree with above. It's a pretty forum, but some suggestions:
    1. The banner can be halved in size and put at the top.
    2. The "breadcrumbs" should go underneath that banner, just above the forum section list.
    3. Reduce the size of the post "banner" (the blue strip above everyone's post).

It's big and pretty, but maybe slightly too "big" to make navigating posts and the forums quickly. :smirk:

NoScript in Firefox is already taking care of the enormous banner for me. Is there a search function for old posts any more? I used to use that a lot to find all your broken promises...

[edit] Hmf. Apparently NoScript was blocking the search function too.

[edit] Adblocking the banner manually seems to have worked. Is this one of those forums where we're not allowed to talk about Adblocking? I didn't see anything about it in the forum rules.

[edit] Now all i have to do is figure out how to get rid of those Featured Posts...

Can I see my old posts in the forums now?

I've found a section called 'Comments' in my profile, which shows me everything ive posted, but there's no link back to the threads, so it's pretty useless.

@Brigby Is there a bug on the forum or was it a deliberate decision to make quoted text two times bigger ?
jumping from one font size to another really hurts my eyes...

I just typed up a long response on another thread. I noticed that I'd accidentally left about 8 carriage returns at the bottom.  I edited it, and removed them. Then I got a message that my comment had to be approved before it would be shown.

Really? For editing out blank space?

@Azerack Thanks for the feedback! Those are all topics we'll be bringing up to the designers today.
@shteev There are links, but for some reason the link is white font on white background. We've passed this inquiry along to the designers to get fixed.
@losdamianos The quote text was not deliberately designed to be two times bigger. That is also something we've passed along to the designers to see if they can adjust that.
@madwren That's peculiar. You shouldn't be required to get edits approved. Was that your first post? It's possible that it was just a one-time side effect of needing to "refresh" your member status after the migration

No, it wasn't my first post. It was on this thread if it helps. I was baffled.

Testing to see if I can edit this.

    Edit: now saving..

@brigby - odd, it worked this time. Maybe I accidentally clicked something else after saving the comment? I donno. It's a shame, I spent quite a bit of time on that post. Can you see if it's in the approval queue or something?

@madwren Looks like for some reason our Spam filter caught your post, and flagged it. I've gone ahead and marked your post, as well as your account, as Not Spam.

We'll be sure to tweak the filter today to make sure this kind of situation doesn't happen again in the future

@Brigby Thanks, at the moment layout feels rather unfinished but Im sure it will improve,

@losdamianos I agree. We're still working on sweeping up the dust, and tweaking things to improve them. Our work is far from done, so don't worry.

I don't want to say that we'll never have different forum themes, but since we're primarily concerned with cleaning up the current default one, as of right now we don't have any plans for more themes.

Thank you for taking care of that. Understandable that there are hiccups with the forum migration.

It is really difficult to navigate via mobile... which is a bit ironic since it's for a mobile game.

D3 has an uncanny ability to strip away everything I like about something and just leave the **** I don't like behind.

I could be the only one, but I regularly use ctrl-left arrow and ctrl-right arrow to jump a word at a time when editing anything I write, because it's much faster than using left and right arrows which jump one character at a time.  In the new forum, ctrl-left and ctrl-right have a behaviour I haven't encountered before, which is to jump to the start or end of the whole line.  This generally doesn't improve editing efficiency, duplicates the existing functionality of Home and End, and is also confusing since it's different to Word, TextPad, and pretty much every other modern text editor.  I'm raising this admittedly fairly trivial issue in the hope that there's a simple configuration option which can set ctrl-left and ctrl-right to perform word jumping, and make the forum a friendlier place for ctrl-left and ctrl-right users worldwide.

This is definitely not just you. It's been driving me crazy, because I'm an extremely fast touch typer, and I keep deleting entire lines of text trying to go back a single word. Please, if there's any way to fix this, do so.

@brigby is there any way to change the text color from "medium gray" to black? I find it very strenuous to read the text because it seems so faint. I couldn't find any color scheme options in settings, but might have missed them.

Cheers, that worked great! (although I did need to download the Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus... which I would have thought would let me block the element automatically but it didn't seem to)

I'll check the forum settings to see if there is anything we can adjust on our end. If not, then we'll bring it up with the designers.

    @madwren
Color clarity is something we've definitely brought up with the designers. They've already added it to their list of items to fix.
