Why are people acting like this isn't one of the most clear-cut "came down from Marvel" character choices we've gotten in the past few months (the only more obvious one being Dr. Strange)?

It says it causes damage as well, so it kinda balances out. I agree though, her powers are all extremely situational - Remote Control Gauntlets is the only one I can see getting regular use.

The article did say that at higher levels, green will throw 2 opponents airborne, so she is out for 2 turns while isolating one enemy. Would that work for moonknights black if you wanted to target a specific person? Or does airborne people get targetted by that also? Of course, that strat would only work if you have the option to choose who gets sent airborne and it's not random.

oops, nevermind, MK random damage is green which wouldn't work because the airborne ability by IH is green.

Her blue ability, Magnetic Repulsors, has a lot of promise with enemies that make the same color special tiles. If they're all grouped together in the center of the board you could generate several critical tiles, while simultaneously removing them and essentially having a bomb go off that leads to plenty of cascades.

No comment on red until we see the numbers.

Her green seems terrible. Unless they elaborate on it and reveal other features, damage, etc., we already have much better stuns. And green is one of the most overused colors, so you're guaranteed to have someone with a better green (and probably red) ability to default to.

They are acting this way cause they are relating her to yet another variant. She in her own right is a completely different champ, but even me personally wasn't looking forward to her inclusion in the game yet. I like many other are looking forward to other classical characters that would make a great inclusion and new characters added along the way. Riri comics are ok for a quick read, not my fav at the moment, but this character as a support will add some different mechanics to the game. Also, as a personal note I don't like variants as they have to much at their disposal to continually add a champ already in play multiple times. Granted I understand that Disney/Marvel basically tells them who they can release, but their does need to be more variations in new characters rather than adding the old with new costumes. Probably foresee in the future another DD variant, Iron Fist, Black Panther, and Spider verse character in the not so distant future.

They should at least put some thought into who she pairs with. No one would ever use her and cages red back to back for 11+13 red ap. And they justify the airborne mechanic basically as a stun.

Red sounds like it removes special tiles at the end of the countdown but does damage when you place the countdown tile. Also it says she unlocks special tiles, whatever that means
Blue could be useful but it could also do absolutely nothing.
Green might be useful for hiding from AOE attacks. Not super useful as a stun. Wonder if the enemy takes damage when they land.

Probably another PVE specialist, especially against Bullseye and Daken.

this character sounds terrible. yet again. I think the developers are batting like .125

Carol, Medusa, Blade, Gwenpoole, Thanos, Dr Strange - good to great
Luke Cage, Agent Venom, maybe Ironheart- ok to mediocre
I'd say they're batting .667

Apparently Marvel wasn't happy she lost the poll to a classic characters so pushed her through anyway. Like the others, she lost for a reason. More of what we want, less of what we don't, that's how business works.

My point is why would you blame the devs for this when it's fairly obvious that the decision comes down from Marvel themselves? I want to say the last character they introduced that didn't have something comic or movie related coming out at the same time was Jessica Drew, but I think I'm wrong on that one.

There was only one classic character in the poll she was in (unless you consider Silk a classic character), and that one has been in the game for months now. I think you're getting your polls mixed up.

Carol has a new comic that just came out, plus with Civil War II and A-Force, she is everywhere right now. Thanos just had his new comic come out not too long ago, and it makes sense since they are prepping the MCU for his main entrance into MCU movies with this year the last infinity stone turning up.

Medusa won, the classic character referenced in my post.

I don't view this as a variant at all, as I relate to a character more by who they are under the mask. She can be teamed with Iron Man as well.

She's not just 'another Iron Man cover'. It doesn't look like she plays anything like the current Iron Man variants. The only similarity here is that she wears armor made by Tony Stark.

"Yet again"? Thanos, Medusa, and Carol are all pretty great. I'm curious to see how Ironheart will play.

Medusa is pretty good, but half of the Thanos' is all kinds of bad, and too early to tell on new Marvel, but seems really niche. I started groaning when the dev stated Ironheart was a support character. Seems like most of what we get lately.

Medusa is mostly support, but so is iron fist! She is basically 4* ironfist.
3* thanos was **** on release, but is now very solid. 5* thanos is probably the best pvp character in the 5* tier. And carol is a potential top tier 4* just below peggy levels of value in pvp and pve.

There are a fair number of things to gripe about in this game, but the quality of recent releases is not one of them.

I guess Cho isn't a variant either. He's asian and plays nothing like Banner.

Carter, Steve Rogers Cap play nothing alike and obviously she's a woman so...

The differences are why they are called variants.

I don't know about the powers exactly, but I don't mind Iron Heart as an addition. Marvel's going through a thing right now where they're trying to add more female characters, so adding this one makes some sense. I actually appreciate the effort this game has made to keep the gender balance from tipping too far male.
