What was your first event?

  • I started playing after New York Comic-Con and if I remember correctly there was a Cap 1* tournament the next weekend, or the one after that, and I had obsessively worked through the prologue and had an okay 1* team and scored a cap cover.

The first big PvE event was the Moonstone one Polkio is talking about and the way he played it definitely is the reason rubberbanding exists today. The forum was full of people complaining about him grinding out 2 point missions but I learned from him, a couple refreshes too late, but soon enough for me to be able to do it pretty easily too and I was able to get Moonstone.

I think so far I have a perfect record of picking up a new cover in the first event it is offered although that might not be right.

OMFG Colog, your roster is just FREAKING INSANE!!!!! How do you do it?!?!

    *coughhaxcough*

    Just kidding. Seriously, how?

And, was the comic-con how you found out about this game?

MPQ had a booth at the Comic Con. They also used it as a promotion to give away a free Thor cover, if I remember correctly.

Yes that is correct. I sat in on the overall Marvel Video Games panel and really liked what I saw and then visited the booth and they told me if I registered there I would get a free Thor MN cover. Right then and there was a six month addiction born. I played for most of the train ride home on Sunday and I haven't stopped since.
  • Did you spend a lot of money on the game?

Yes I knew nothing about the game until Comic-Con.
I pretty much play for a few hours every day and as I have said before I've averaged about $20-30/week in buying mostly HP.
Right towards the end of my first month when they were going to raise cover slots I made my first buy for enough HP to take me to 40 cover slots which was the max at that time. That was the single best investment in the game I have ever made and whenever anyone says you should spend your early HP on cover slots they are 100% correct.
Since then my advancement is like everyone else just that I had more time and money to spend than others.
Bottom line I combine playing a lot and, for me, spending a little and that I how I have the roster I have.

A rerun of the first event makes me wonder how many posters here have been around since then.

I joined in the middle of The Hunt. Back then I thought Modern Hawkeye was fantastic. His buffed stats combined with the tech environment would let me turn 1 critical tile into 3. I barely used his countdown tiles.

Edit: matching a crit tile to environment returned over 120 points for more tile creation.

I remember reading about the game before it came out (for Android, not sure if iOS had it before), on some mobile gaming site. I downloaded the day it became available. My memory is terrible, but I remember red iso was the first PvE event. I think the first PvP tourney was... Venom?
  • Yep venom event and red ISO were my firsts. It's difficult to remember that far back but I remember concentrating more on prologue and shield training to get my one stars maxed.
  • My first event was the thingymajig one where whatcha'call-it was boosted and I won some ISOs..... seriously though I think mine was the Brotherhood one (i'm on day 62)
