So... in regards to double mana, what planeswalker is everyone battling with? Should we be trying to take advantage of the big fatties we can cast? or do you think it'll matter?

  • By my reading it's only going to be a handful of gems that produce double mana.

If that means the entire match produces double what it would... then hmm, it may benefit those planeswalkers with spiky distributions (Koth especially, yikes, but also Jace2, those who get +5 or more rather than +3/+2/+2/+1/+1 kind of thing). Depending on quite what "double mana" means. I guess we wait to find out...

It's always Aj for me -- I'm a one trick pony -- though playing Kiora or J2 for Days is tempting.

I have no idea what you're reading but it very clearly says "ALL MANA IS DOUBLED". Nothing whatsoever about special gems.

You can't have events like this and expect them to be balanced so long as koth exists the way he does. Koth is already broken and in this event will he will be so stupidly overpowered there won't even be words to describe it.

kinda makes me wish i had koth lvl'd all the way.
  • Koth can't cast deploy. I'll be running Sorin or Nahiri.

koth will have limited benefits from the mana boost as his mana gain
is already so high. he'll more likely run into card draw problems
sooner. it will only cost half the normal mana to destroy his creatures
as soon as they turn up on the battlefield.

I'm going to guess card draw decks will benefit the most.

Do cards that say gain mana or plainswalkers abilities that say that as well gain double?

Jace2 would be better if the dev's didn't break the investigation ability, making his 2nd ability useless. Also, Tamiyo's is great with my Jace2, but its broken also. Arg!

Hi all - just a quick update: Clues should now be working as intended. (The issue with tapping on a Support will be fixed in the update next week.) If you're still experiencing issues with Clues please enter a support ticket. Thanks!

I've been in a few battles so far this event, and it seems that the double mana only applies to the BASE mana rates from the gems on the board and not from PW bonuses; meaning a PW with a +3 bonus would get 9 mana, not 12.

Also, I've seen some rather scary decks in Platinum tier - if you run into Chaingun's Kiora in this event... make sure you add a LOT of hard removal - otherwise you are going to deal with a rather vicious surprise in the form of a massive Prized Amalgam (he was my last match right now - eventually had to deal with an 80/80 Amalgam, and somehow still managed to win)!

I think I ran into this. I assume it was via a lot of day's undoings chained together. I just flew over the top with Koth's dragons (#dontevencur)

Yes fun event kinda like the Halloween Event.
  • I'm having the most difficulty with decks that have three or more forms of removal--so, anything with black in it. I'm not sure how you can deal with it short of resurrection (again, black) or hexproof. Maybe you can out draw such decks?
