How does rashmi help cascades? She isnt giving mana to those cards you are fetching..
Her mana ability lets you pop off cheap gem conversion spells without matching any, which increases the chances of cascades. Once you have that going, her triggered ability to fetch a like spell frequently ends up getting cast too off the mana from the previous spell resolving and cascading.
    What mana ability..
Crashing Waves. Drains opponent for six mana (even if they have no mana), and you gain six mana.

And she fetches the next card in the library whatever it is, doesnt fetch a 'like spell'.
That changed. When she was first released, she was just like Panharmonicon. She was pretty broken when first released, but they changed it to only fetch the next card.

I went back to revisit this thread. Some of you guys nailed it. Dude, she's a beast!

I didn't think to try Noyan Dar, but that might work. I prefer UHydra because it helps to trigger more cascades, but I might have to try that.

Here are videos of it in action. Feel free to check out my Youtube page in my signature for more insanity with Arlinn and Kiora.

Yeah that was kinda what I had in mind, though I was hoping for it to be a lot more stable/deadly.

Nice to feel vindicated though. Thanks.
  • Yeah, not sure what the hate is...

I run Rashmi, Rishkar, and Cultivator with the usual orb change supports, seasons, etc, once she's down with orb change, your hand is permanently full

You can use architect and attune to litter out mech beasts, if I had rishkars expertise I don't think I'd ever play anything else

Yeah, with further practice I have found it to be pretty inconsistent to be able to pull it off quickly and effectively in events. There are people out there with better cards then me that seem to be able to pull it off with less trouble than I do.

I take back my words. Well, some of them.

She has her use, however inconsistent it may be. She could still cost less.
  • She might need the Hixus treatment. Make her a support with 3 shields for like 10 mana. While we're at it, give Dragonmaster Outcast the Hixus treatment too. In fact, any mythic creature that can get stood up by Brood Monitor is a support now.

Her high cost is about the only reason she can't go infinite as she acts as a blocker in the chain ramp.

Pulling her down to 10 mana would be sick.

She's amazing. Like ohboy said, she's the only card that can get in the way. I don't have Season's Past, Nissa's Renewal or Rishkar Expertise, but can generate insane loops that are more than enough to win the game in one big turn. With that many cascades, planeswalkers abilities can be used really fast too.

Well, if cards printed specifically for combo decks have to be made in this game (which they don't), I'd rather see them as a 17 mana 3/3 than a 6 mana colorless support with 3 shields.

She's better than I thought, but she dies too easily.

Ideally you want to win the turn she gets cast.

If you're not as enamoured with this card as I am, you're not playing it in the right deck.

    It's amazeballs.
